Bangka PumpBoat gets chopped off and Yamaha Outboard installed Part 5 LAUNCH TIME
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 січ 2023
- It's time to launch this boat after modifying it from a internal one cylinder diesel not made for salt conditions to a yamaha enduro outboard on the rear.
We chopped off the tail of the boat and created a transom to hang it on securely. Now it is time to see how it performs.
We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Panay Island Philippines. We share dealing with two different cultures, building our solid concrete cast in place home beach side and exploring/ seeking new things. We hope you enjoy and join to be a apart of a bigger family here on this channel.
Thank you for being apart of our channel and lives.

That motor fits perfectly, I thought for sure the transom had to be lowered. Looks like the fastest fishing boat in the neighborhood!
Thanks 👍
Try to search bankarera in youtube. :) that is not the fastest

This is a game-changing in Philippines.. Texas idea with Filipino technology..
This could outrun the Chinese coast guard..😂😂
Enjoy keep coming..
WOW !!! I've been wanting to see one made like this since I was a kid. That came out amazing !

I would add a safety chain from the outboard to the boat. It slows down theft and stops the motor from going too deep in the water if it comes loose from the transom. Just Sayin
awesome job on the boat. My filipina gf is scared of the sun, she says she will get darker. I live 10 minutes from the gulf of mexico and when we go , she takes a huge umbrella lol.
Lol sounds about right. Westerners (white) when they go swimming they stay under..we..we go to the shade
That’s funny 😂
For the roof shade, buy 2 300 watt solar panels and get a 65 lbs trust 24 volt trolling motor, I have a set up where I can hook up the panel directly to the motor without a battery as long as the sun is out
It's great boat man, for me you did it right more news in your boat journey... For sure new to these guys their... Transfer of technology to them a good help for Filipino brothers thanks man
Good job. That machine is cool. It's meant for ocean travel on a boat. It's powerful and more than capable to handle ever changing sea roughness, current and what not.
Must feel good..I feel proud and it’s not even mine
James I suggest to checked on shipping some of your favorite personal belongings like used boats and cars in the Philippines without paying taxes.
Looks good sounds good smooth!hope you find the problems.
Nice to meet you too in person!
Have fun !God bless you and Mel!

Wow very nice Idea!
Boat looks awesome and what a great idea about the bamboo flooring and seating. I’m sure whatever you design to haul that boat in and out will be something great!!! Coz that’s how you roll…lol. You 😊
The boat performed perfectly nice simple boat easy to put out I think you have a lot of fun
This guy can make a huge difference for improvement. Live there, marry there and enjoy your life. Filipinos are easy going and can adapt to friendly foreigners. They can even accept you to their own families!!😝😝😝

Good morning well done, just a little more beautification and all is very good, ready to catch blue Marlin or tuna hehehe
Morning!
18 years ago I have Yamaha 40 Enduro and I built a boat like that and upgraded it to having roof from the front to the rear.
Sir im a Bisdak in Florida... I tell you... You are absolutely genius.. I thought of that before but never had a chance to do it..
30 years being away from Philippines sir... You definitely put or have made it stronger to move back home... Thank you ..
Back in 1990 I was working at the US Embassy Manila and doing a lot of diving at Anilao, Batangas. We had a regular boatman named Max we used but his boat was too small when we started diving with computers and four of us doing three dives per day instead of two. It was also a hassle to negotiate price depending on where we wanted to dive. When we learned Max had built the boat himself we proposed a deal; we would buy all the materials to build a new, bigger 10-meter boat with an upswept bow and square stern like the larger fishing boats. He would build it and work for us for free, then at the end of our tours we would give him the boat free and clear.
He came to Manila and I drove with him to Malabon, north of Manila where we sourced a 4-cylinder Toyota Corolla engine / transmission and the stainless steel shafting and plate needed to construct the propeller and rudder I transported in the back of my Pajero SUV. Max had to go to Mindoro to find a log big enough for the keel Every trip there to dive during construction I brought more supplies and in about three months we had a new boat with storage for 18 tanks under the floorboards and plenty of room for as many as six divers.
During the planning I suggested we use an Isuzu diesel engine like the ones used in Jeepneys but Max vetoed the idea saying it would be too heavy and take too many people to haul in and out of the water. He also vetoed the idea of a three bladed prop explaining two bladed props were used so they could be turned sideways when beaching the boat, preventing damage.
It was a very positive win-win experience. Total cost of materials was under $2,000 and we were spared all the hassles other ex-pats had experienced with theft and lack of maintenance. Max loved the deal because we only used the boat every other weekend and the rest of the time he was free to use it for fishing and transporting other divers. It was a very popular boat because it was the biggest in the area and very sea worthy. We took it from Batangas to Puerto Gallera on Mindoro without any problem.
Great story - loved reading that. I saw it all happening in my minds eye! Thank for sharing that.

That is sweet as, love the video today... looks like fun
AMAZING, Nice work on the chopped pump boat , HAPPY 2023 👍😎🚤
You two look like a great couple that have a lot of fun together. My little Filipina wife has only been stateside with me a couple months…but we may end up living there before it’s all said and done.

Wow good job.. perfect for fishing..
Boat is Awesome James worked out Perfectly! 👏😁
Build you two cradles with 4 bicycle wheels 2 on each V cradle one on each side. Put one cradle under the front one under the back and push it ashore then chock it and leave cradles Under it Until U get to the water then take them out and take them back home until U come back from your fishing or pleasure riding. 😉👍
Agree if you use Fat Tires.
Enjoy your fishing bud. The boat looks great!
Man, that was a fun video to watch!!
Excellent results, no pitch or yaw; runs true and the outriggers will guide on the surface after the correction.
Next is navigation lighting. 😉

Such a master builder I learn so much from you James
I hope every tourist banca here in the philippines would be converted like this
AMEN
Your motor is in perfect position (I watched closely)...... Cavitation plate above the prop should be equal to/a little above the bottom of boat..... Yours is..... Don't forget to bolt that motor on...... As a boat repair shop owner, I've seen many fall off (never to be seen again) when they were only clamped on.... you can extend the tiller handle/throttle, with a piece of pvc pipe.... So you can stand up and drive if necessary/want to.......
Looks like a good time enjoy.
Awesome test launch! & @11:20 thanks! I had tea punched out my nose when you said to! Joel : bye lub lub...'chat me'!
Killed me. Lol
Wow so good the machines Yamaha enduro
May not be fancy but it has its charm..
One “Beachside Betty” done and another one to go! Ready to see some actual fishing tales. Great job all all around!

Cool looking boat.
that was so fun see you riding that boat 😄
Wow! That’s the smoothest running Banka I’ve ever seen, only drawback is the outboard is a pain to carry around maybe you should device an outboard roller or carrier with fat wheels that’ll roll out on sandy beaches it’ll make carrying around the outboard easier I guess
ua-cam.com/video/pb9no3WutKE/v-deo.html Please watch the new upgrades to the PumpBoat
Might be the fuel pump. A new kit should cost around $20. New pump around $90. Fun video.
I think I will order a pump kit and a few other things today
@Texas Filipino I've ordered a couple of those $120 Bimini tops from Amazon a few years back. They are surprisingly strong and well built. You would have to use better stainless bolts(the chinese bolts are worthless). However, you can leave it up at full throttle, no problem. I was very pleased with the tops. Liking the boat! Looks like fun
Nice, nice. 👍
Happy new year
first time i saw a bangka fitted with outboard motor.. well done!
Perfect motor bangka usually runs 14cc to 20+ cc . With 25 your good to go make sure you always have emergency paddles and life vest.
Yeah a good tow boat for the sunray, you think ahead of the nay sayers we'll done
Fast ass boat! Looks like you can almost water ski behind it! Haha if not pull people on a tube.
Got yourself a nice island hopper there!!
You did a good job... We use to have same set up during the 70s to patrol the coastal bays in Marinduque Island to monitor the dynamite fishing

outboard engine's are nice and smooth, but expensive. not all local fisherfolks can afford in philippines. They choose the less expensive engine for daily use.For fun rides this is a nice set up you've done on local boat design sir.👍

Hi there, we use just 2 ballon wheels and a simply axle and just drive the bunka up onto it with motor tilted up a notch it then rolles with just 2 people up the beach in Mindanao no problem
Love the boat. Great texas engineering.
The smiles say it all!
Amazing. Runs great with the outboard, nice idea also with the bamboo flooring too which can be rolled and removed easily.

That’s very cool! Came out real nice!
Not bad at all. Thats nice. Nothing to compare. Great idea. I was thinking 35hp but 25hp is enough.it can handle the boat properly.👍👍👍 Nice job
yes , that great,,,nice,,,enhanced Philippine version of motorboat with "katig" but now powered by OUTBOARD engine,,,perfect,,, congrats
Keep on keeping on...
The boat is back on the water...
"Perfecto" indeed!
Just enjoy...
👍😎👍
Install bamboo floors on both sides for moving around convenience and boat balance plus more space for extra cargo..to get to dry land, install bamboo rollers…
Nice.. riding the boat Texas style. Salamat bossing.
Speed boat on a traditional designed. Amazing!
I thought you were going to loose that hat out there. Looks great, ton of fun too. huge thumbs up!!!
that looked like it moves pretty fast lol
Looks fantastic Congrats! Just some miner Tweeks glad to see it in the water, as I'm sure you are! You have one great Crew also! An now the dream boat👊
That’s wat I love in Philippines no need for fishing license or buy a boat u can customize it anything u like just b prepared for heavy weather
Great stuff. I live in maryland, and really only wealthy people get to have boats here. I'm considering a modified banka. It's simple, tested, and lightweight. I could tow it in my prius to the launch. Anyway, that's my ramble. Thanks for sharing.
Go for it!
Works perfectly and run smoothly
This is awesome!
I remembered my grandpa made an outboard but didn't have an outrigger on its side.

It reminds me the outboard motor installed in a bangka boats in the 60s , popular outboard motor is the Evenrude , Volvo penta , Johnson , outboard motor is only avaliable in 2 stroke during that time the price of gasoline went up so we start using a 4 stroke Briggs and Stratton, Wisconsin, Clinton, tecumseh, Kohler engines never heard a Japanese engine with the same size during that time .
I wonder where i could find pictures of those in the 60s
Happy New Year Ya'll
Good Morning.... Mr. James
Great job with the boat looks like Great time on the water
Nice.
Thank you!
Brilliant idea man!
Wow so nice bangka keep it up see you Around my friend

Damn you got more space for fishing nets at the back that usually unusable due to its space being tak3n by the motor itselt....good job .......
Mr Texas with some of your fixes you can tell your From Texas.I finally made it to the Philippines on December 11. I hope to meet u someday We have a lot of expats here in Dumaguette and some I have met are from Texas. I alway enjoy your video's
Wow how i wish i have an outboard motor like that and try it on my bangka ... Good job sir...
Wow! so so fast sir...I like the idea of using outboard motor..God bless
James great job. You looked like kid at Christmas.
I was thinking of doing something like that, chopping off the rear end of an outrigger banca and install an outboard motor to create more space inside the boat.....Well, it can be done! I wish I can have one also.
Wow.....😱
that is awesome, great job 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! 😊
Your welcome Sir James... Wish I can ride that Boat with Melinda together to catch some fish..😂

I watch all your videos but don’t often feel the need to comment but that boat is something else . I was enjoying the ride . I may have to make something similar when I eventually retire to bacolod. Just great 😊👍
Thanks 👍
What about Dumaguete sir i can find u some good place here... Sorry to interrupt
it would be sweet to build 2 sealed mini canoes for the pontoons instead of the bamboo to cut thru the water better with less spray
Good job ! Watching here from Cayman Islands
