    Thoroughly enjoyed this video! Thank you so much! Could you make a video on how you push the assignments out to students? That would be most helpful.

    • @davesteckler
      @davesteckler  4 роки тому +1

      I don't push the assignments out. I "could" but I teach the students how to copy the assignment from the Content Library to take their own "copy" to work on. This is because our LMS is Schoology not Teams. They submit to Schoology to be graded.

      @@davesteckler My first week using the Class Notebook has gone well. I immediately began with the kind of table format that you use - that really keeps things organized. This weekend I’ll be reviewing the video to see other things I can incorporate next week. Building as I go along.

    • @odarrien
      @odarrien 2 роки тому

      @@davesteckler I had one main challenge so far. I embedded UA-cam videos and a MS Forms Quiz in the notebook. However, students who are working on tablet devices are unable to play the video or do the quiz within the page as desired - they just get place holders that are not clickable. Do you know of a way around this? More than 90% of my students use Android tablets for online learning.

    • @davesteckler
      @davesteckler  2 роки тому

      @@odarrien sometimes the students using iPads for me can’t play the embedded video so I include the link as well. But when they can’t play it sometimes the issue is either 1) they have drawing mode on and need to be on text mode or 2) need to close onenote and reopen or 3) the video is unlisted not Public (needs to be public)

    I am new to OneNote and really like how you have organized your materials! I am not sure yet how I want to use it exactly with my 4th graders. But could you make a video on how you use this tool with Schoology? Asking because we will be using Schoology as the main hub for all activities but we do have OneNote integrated so would definitely like to take advantage of that. Thank you!

      I use them to help students while working with the design process. (when identifying a problem they have to know what type of problem it is (social/technical) to help come up with a great solution!)

    How much space storage if will take for ur one notes? i find out that it take lot of storage in cloud

    • @davesteckler
      @davesteckler  3 роки тому

      Storage space is relatively low unless you are inserting many video files inside the notebook. I hyperlink youtube videos inside the notebook (embeddable) so youtube takes care of the video file storage not OneNote.

    I am wondering more about the grading aspect. I know "review student work" but was hoping to give points or percent and have the students "see" it in their notebook. How can I do that?

    • @davesteckler
      @davesteckler  4 роки тому

      I have two answers to this! I last year graded in Schoology. So a student would share the page and on their iPads select the Schoology app and submit the assignment there as a copy of the page. I then mark up that copy with my Apple Pencil and grade it at the top and also put that grade in Schoologys grade book. However you can also grade inside onenote! The reason I chose to do it in Schoology was because I allow all students infinite resubmissions on their work so their real page isn’t marked up - that way they can go back in and fix their work and resubmit again

    • @davesteckler
      @davesteckler  4 роки тому

      Rebecca Oxford-Habel so is the question how to see their grade inside onenote? I believe to grade in onenote you need to link the class notebook to your LMS like Schoology or Teams! I can make a video if that doesn’t make sense!

    • @teacherladyabc1124
      @teacherladyabc1124 4 роки тому

      David Steckler Schoology is not adopted by my district. I can use Teams and/Or OneNote. I was wanting the feedback to show up on the class notebook page so it was visible to the student, or audio. But also the points grade.

    I see you use the web browser instead of the desktop app. Do you find it easier ? Have you ever changed the name of a class notebook- for everyone? Mine is giving me the blues. And, what do you do when a section doesn't sync?

    • @davesteckler
      @davesteckler  3 роки тому +1

      I use the desktop app on my school PC and the desktop app on my Macbook pro as well! Students all use their ipads so they use the ipad app. I love it. I usually name the notebook before rostering the kids. To fix syncing issues I will usually just have the students delete their login credentials and re-log in!

    Grading all of your notebooks individually must be a challenge-

    • @davesteckler
      @davesteckler  2 роки тому

      They submit a copy of their page to our LMS and i grade those individually! Definitely is time consuming but that’s what it takes!

  • @pavanigottumukkala1910

    Question. Can I create my notebook, add all the materials and then add students later on? Because right now our LMS has not been set up yet and I would like to get ahead with whatever I can.

    • @davesteckler
      @davesteckler  4 роки тому +1

      PAVANI GOTTUMUKKALA yes and no. If you want a class notebook where kids are auto added as they log in you need to create that through the LMS of schoology. However - You could create a class notebook outside of Schoology and manually add them one by one! You could also keep a teacher notebook with the lessons and pages and just push it out to the students notebook like I do too. I plan on my own notebook the copy the lessons over to the content library of each class.
