Yeah, I did that on my own, about a minute after starting the video. I often change the speed. If I'm reading funny text videos, I'll slow it down a little and mute the music. If I'm watching someone do an activity, and want watch but not listen, I will often go to 2X and again mute the sound. Other times people just talk a little too slow, so I raise the speed to 1.25, or even 1.50. I really like being able to adjust the playback speed to suit me. I also like being able to jump forward or back 10 seconds, too.😊 When I was growing up, personal computers were science fiction. Thanks for the tips. I've used OneNote for years & wouldn't be without it now. One thing I would say is don't build too complex a hierarchical structure. Thank you! As a MAC user I was getting more and more frustrated keeping track of things - and took a note to look into OneNote. And now you've done just that for me! I'm heading over now to look at your other OneNote vids now. Thank you very much again!
Wonderful tutorial Leila. As you’ve mentioned there are many other features. I use OneNote for many things but the main one is researching. Features I often use are, clip from webpage - can clip the entire page or just the article, since I have tons of information I love referencing either pages, sections, words or paragraphs - easily done by highlighting the sentence or word or page or whatever you want and right clicking then select copy link and then you could insert this link anywhere you wish. Inserting a UA-cam link aromatically embeds the video. Notebooks, sections or pages can be easily shared by creating a pdf of them. One other fantastic feature is that you can share a notebook with other people and all of you could collaborate and populate information there and it updates live for everyone with their name tags attached to the info they’ve added and you could play back history - as in rewind or forward - so you’d be able to backtrack events later to catch-up anything you’ve missed or gotten mixed up with. You’ve got access to your notes anywhere you can find a computer linked to the net. A great feature for students is that they can record voice from a lecture whilst capturing notes, once the recording is done, it inserts that recoding into that page. OneNote is awesome, I can’t function without it!!!
I don’t know if you meant “Copy Link to Paragraph,” but I use that function a lot to create a hyperlinked Table of Contents for a page. I’ll highlight a section header, “Copy Link to Paragraph”, paste it at the top of the page, copy the Page title, “Copy Link to Paragraph”, click the link to the last link copied, then paste the link to the page title under the section title. This allows me to quickly jump back to the top of a page and browse the Table of Contents for that page. The other cool thing about these Paragraph Links is you can paste them to multiple places. I don’t do it as much, but if there’s a new term used throughout a section of my notes, I’ll paste a link to a glossary everywhere it appears in that article. Once I’ve read the glossary entry, I just hit “Back” to go back to the original article.
@@josephcoon5809 we are both on the same point, you’ve just elaborated more on this feature, you could hyperlink just about any content and add that link to wherever you need for easy reference or to quickly get to other parts of your notebook. Thanks for your input.

Thanks! It would be great if you could cover One Note integration with Outlook (Microsoft 365) particularly organizing meeting notes using hierarchy feature
In the OneNote 2016 interface it connects to the Tasking module of Outlook, which I recommend for ultimate productivity. OneNote provides the overview of the project, and is a central location of disparate information; yet Outlook tasks allow you to curate the tasks that you want to focus. You pull them into Outlook via OneNote 2016 by "tagging" them as a task. Then in Outlook, I have a section to the right of my screen that is a mini window of my tasks curated from OneNote and tasks that are embedded in my emails.

Great vid! Have used OneNote for years for same reasons you mention but have drifted away from it recently. Saw this vid and after watching it am reinvigorated to use again. The new, at least for me, tips and tricks are compelling and push me to start using it again. So thank you!
This is the best "quick" video that packs the most useful information! I've had a love/hate thing going on with OneNote for years and this eliminated the "hate" portion! Thank you!
Audio recording while taking notes on the same page creates bookmarks in the recording. While clicking on a paragraph in the notes, you jump to what was recorded while you were taking this notes (paragraph), and listening to the audio at a specific location highlights the paragraph you were typing while this recording section was recorded. This is a killer for taking minutes.
But wait, there's more... You can select and copy blobs of notes in a page, and paste them: as an image, as formatted text, or as unformatted text, somewhere else!
Leila, thanks for the tips. I have a question: when I right-click the section, I could not find the "create new section groups". Can somebody help? Thanks

2. Ink to Shape
3. Ink to Math
I've used OneNote for years, but a big thumbs up to this video. Leila - excellent explanation of hierarchies and so on. As a teacher I really appreciate it :)
Glad you enjoyed it, Ann-Louise!
As a teacher, I say bravo! Well done. I learned so much from your presentation. This is the best I’ve watched.
Glad you enjoyed it Maryann!
Absolutely
You are amazing. I am so happy that I came across this video. I subscribed 👍🏻🎆
Welcome aboard!
@@LeilaGharani 🌅 thank you 🤗
I here come to listen to your voice, I like your accent. and the contents of your video is extraordinary, thanks a million dollar for sharing such kinds of videos. I came across your channel last week since then I like by heart. 🤗
Great vid! Have used OneNote for years for same reasons you mention but have drifted away from it recently. Saw this vid and after watching it am reinvigorated to use again. The new, at least for me, tips and tricks are compelling and push me to start using it again. So thank you!
i like that part "pretty cool right, dont tell your teachers" i never kne how to use one note. now i do. thank you leila
I really had no Idea this app has a lot of features. I thought it was just some notes/to-do list app.
sticky notes - available within windows sticky notes app, and android onenote - but not win/mac onenote (yet)
S. M. Thanks for the conformation, was looking for that function and could not find it.
What I really miss is a good build-in way to create mind maps😥
Cant u draw it out w the ink function
This is the best "quick" video that packs the most useful information! I've had a love/hate thing going on with OneNote for years and this eliminated the "hate" portion! Thank you!
At the time of watching this I say 2.2K likes and 19 dislikes. "Good Note stop telling your people to do that.?"
Wow this feature is new for me and I love to listen you. My favourite one extract words from any image.
This is really very convenient.
Howdy Leila. I am a long time and avid OneNote user and really love it.
Those open books on the back wall.. what are they haha!
Thank you so much. I've been making a mess of OneNote for years. After watching this, I finally know how to use this thing. Thanks again.
Glad to help :)
I love the builtin snipping tool and the audio recording device in it!
I just started watching but I have to say.... That is a very interesting wall decoration 😮😍
It really is! I immediately liked it when I first saw it.
@@LeilaGharani I definitely understand why, would love one too, it's perfect!
I feel to make one on myself.
Leila Gharani but how do you stop it collecting dust? Is it possible to vacuum it?
@@stephaneenglish4661 I believe it is a virtual background :)
Thanks
Wow, I always wondered if someone could tell me whats this one note about. Thank you for teaching this
great explaination mam.
Damn, I really needed a reality check on how to best organize my work and personal life. There has been absolutely no system in place. I will take OneNote seriously now. Thanks, Leila
great training! Unfortunately, I never get familiar with OneNote, it''s kind of confusing with too many versions and requires to much navigation. For example in my mobile app I don't have sticky notes as shown by Leila. My screen shows and I can't find sticky notes.
I love your videos! They are simple, clear, and easy to follow. Thank-you!
Thank you! Great video and love how you take your time to explain the directions. It's great for people like me who are neurodivergent. Thanks again. :)
Great and usefull
How can I add abbreviations example omg would automatically transfer to ohh my god
Leila is so impressive, she makes things so interesting and easy to understand. If my teachers had half of her pedagogy, I should be a damn genius… no, if they look like her, I never focus on what they said 🥰
Although shorts video is direct and effective, long video can learn more details.虽然短视频直接有效,但长视频能了解更多的细节。
How do you “rename” the different levels if I made a mistake? I am just getting a check box When I try to long press! This is on my iOS phone.
Amazing tool for enhancing productivity!
Love the Surface (and the MVP sticker!) - I’ve started using OneNote on my iPad - just made a video about several M365 App keyboard shortcuts on iPad - ua-cam.com/video/DUxy_M6aeUI/v-deo.html!
Great overview, Leila. I'm forwarding onto all my clients.
This was awesome. I will start using One Note going forward. Thank you Leila

Thanks for your videos. Especially for One note ideas
Looked at one note before and didnt get on with it. Thanks for the vlog, I'm gonna give it another go to separate my journalism stuff.
Is this One Note from 365 bundle? Because i have Office 2019 and it's totally different :/
The grandfather clock isn't swinging. TOTALLY DISTRACTING! it would probably be just as distracting if it were moving though.
👌👌👌
Amazing! I learned a lot of tips that I didn't know before though I've been using OneNote for a long time now. Thank you. :)
Watching this two years after you made it, and there now seems to be a way to rearrange the order of tags, by selecting Customize Tags, then selecting the tag and clicking on the up or down arrow to the right.
