The One Piece world may seem simple at first, but Oda's word building is on another level. The world is so complex and layered and nuanced. I wish more people realized :(
Those who have only watched the east blue saga(aka season 1 of the love action) won't understand that yet. Let them keep thinking this is a simple drama and get their minds blown when the plot actually begins.

I think the main aim of one piece is always been to follow your dreams. No matter how impossible it may seem. You must keep that kid inside you alive. So life becomes more bearable. Once its gone everything becomes use to.
I think that's why I love Jaby and Achara because they can be as goofy as a kid and as professional as one can be.
Also in the world of OnePiece laughter is an important theme. Every major character has a unique distinct laugh in the manga and anime.

Prince Valiant was a movie from 1954 and one of many spoofs in the movie Spaceballs which the yawning prince Valium on the right was from.
NOTE: the Grandline is not the equator it doesn't run east to west nor does the red line run north to south. it runs diagonally around the world from northwest to southeast and back around the other side. the four seas are named after the four cardinal direction because that is where they are in the world. East blue is to the east, north blue is to the north, etc. think of the redline and grandline as an X that cross each other on both sides. not a +. also it isn't a map to find the Grandline it is a map to the entrance the grandline. for reasons i can't say (mostly spoilers) there is only one way to enter the Grandline. you can't just sail straight into it, you have to enter it at one very specific place try to enter it at any other location you might as well prepare your will and sign it before hand because you will not come back nor will you even see the grandline. just wanted to make that as clear as i can without any possible future spoilers.

The manga is in a magazine called Shonen jump. Shonen means young boy basically. The magazine when it started was aimed at young boys. As is with most things things can change. The magazine has the same name now but the industry has grown so the target audience can vary. Just like how early comic books were mainly targeted at young boys doesn't mean that decades later comics can't target any audience of any age and any themes whether dark or family friendly
Just finished my 2nd time watching one piece...its really amazing adaptation...
These first 8 episodes, definitely kept One Piece simple. Then up to Alabasta, hopefully next season, will spice in some complications. Hopefully, we get some Thriller Bark action for some high level emotional blows. I can't wait for the casting of Nami-Schwan. I just want to see what direction they go with Robin.

Luffy did raid a marine base, beat the crap out of a bunch of marine soldiers and stole a safe. Luffy isn't at all concerned with the law, only his sometimes rigid, sometimes fickle moral compass. And it doesn’t always align with the law or even whats morally good for most people, and sometimes just downright selfish
But also, beyond that, Luffy is kinda passively committing a lot of crimes in the context of the law of the world he lives in in tge process of sailing, which, not to go into spoilers, is very extreme and not very fair by real world legislation standards

Here's something you probably don't realise: The season 1 of the Live Action covers the East Blue Saga which is arguably the weakest saga in the story as it is only about introducing some of the straw hats.
The actual plot will begin from season 2 and you are going to need sticky notes to keep up with this world and all the drama that is about to unfold.
