Looks sharp. The Hot Dog looks Juicy and Tempting. Even with the price.
That is by far, the best looking giant hotdog I've ever seen.
Bro why am I watching all your video on hot dogs. It’s on my checklist now for my New York trip
His classic vids are the best
another awesome one!! thanks, and the picture is excellent!
Thanks again!
Finally a long video
Gracious
I normally would not consider spending that much money on a hot dog. But when you mention it had a snap, and the way it was scored, I sure would like to try it.
The mustard also looked good.
I might be a snob about the sauerkraut, but im German and have high standards in regards to sauerkraut. Have not had any kraut on dogs that I enjoyed.
My German fam in North Dakota still make
their own sauerkraut && pickles 🌟💖
@@lfader that's fantastic. Growing up we did not make the kraut from scratch, but when you buy the fermented kraut in a jar it does still require cooking with seasoning. Every one pretty much has their own special recipe, as to what "should" be added etc. Same with potato salad. The arguments can go deep 😅
My parents both grew up in a big city, and making your own fermenting etc was not a popular thing. My moms early childhood was in the country. And my grandma had to make more things from scratch, including butchering the pig they raised. I think with modernization and moving into the big cities it just fell out of style. Just like in the States, the movement to return to old ways of making things, has returned for some. I myself had learned how to make homemade bread, including making my own sourdough starter, my mom never made her own breads. We did however cook most other dishes from scratch, and she baked cakes etc.
@@marlies7444 That's still very cool history - raised in a farm community under 800 people We had our own garden with everything We had chickens we had a barn etc but my grandmother once you walked into our root cellar which came in handy for tornadoes 🤣 was all Ball jars with everything She even made her own candy You brought up potato salad I forgot how outrageous good her potato salad was and her bread wow
Yes the fermenting is a pain in the rear I'm not going to deal with it I get a lot of grief about weather and foods from my fam in North Dakota but we got to go with our skill set 😜
Great memories 🌟
Also add about the kraut on dogs Like with meals I was raised on We just had a side of sauerkraut next to potatoes or whatever and a lot of times I don't even put it on my dog I'll make room for onions or not and I have it on the side
Honestly the only store-bought sauerkraut I really enjoy and I can't find it any more in stores It's online for about triple to five times more what I was paying for it is Bavarian sauerkraut by Libby's which has the caraway seeds A lot of people don't go for it but I love it
I've tried adding Caraway seeds and fennel and it's okay but it's not the same
When I boot leg food or a dish or a restaurant take out it always fall short 😭😁
@@lfader yes sauerkraut in Germany is a side dish to a dinner. With a Bratwurst it might get topped with sautéed onions. Most often Sauerkraut is served with pork dishes, like a dish called Schlachteplatte. Usually it has Leber and Blutwurst (liver and blood pudding sausage. Often with pork belly or ham hock. Of course Bratwurst as well. Yes we make our Sauerkraut with Caraway seeds as well. Often it's seasoned sweet and sour. Some add apples, they cook down. I personally like crushed pineapple in my Sauerkraut. And most often Speck or bacon are added, at the very least some fat like lard. I had found once a can that was already prepared with seasonings and cooked soft. I can not remember what brand it was. My hubby had picked it up. I might have to look for the one you mentioned.
Another typical cabbage dish is Rotkohl. A braised red cabbage. It is usually served with beef dishes and Christmas Goose.
I miss my German food. And don't get me started on bread 😅🤣
Add $10 for the location. Looks great. I would have asked for a bit more sauerkraut. Great video.
😂😂😂😂 that’s exactly what I thought too. For $24 the dog should be covered to the ends of the bun. 🤷♂️
They should make the bun as long as the hot dog!
OMG, that is making my mouth water 🤤🤪🌭👍
Thanks, Chris...
Frank's Fresh Kraut is da best!
Bro looks delicious that plated is a win ....BUT
even if I have the scratch can't do $30 🥴 .......🤸🤸
Add:: that bun holds up nice
Chill diner 👍
Another exemplary video. Thanks for making the effort. You hit a bullseye on every point. We used to frequent the Brooklyn Diner on 57th & Seventh and never had a bad meal. Two of us ordered the hot dog to share. We asked for sauerkraut on the side and an extra bun, which was gratis.
That one dog filled us up. You are so right about the sauerkraut...tasteless. I actually prefer softer sauerkraut, but the taste wasn't there.
Brooklyn Diner used to have a fantastic French Dip, but it was discontinued. It was even better than Hillstone and Brennen & Carr.
Looks delicious
I like your UA-cam shorts but really enjoy these longer videos.
You are awesome love your chill attitude on everything.
I had to survive two 23-second unskippable ads to watch this video
Really? Jeez.
Great videos. Like them more now knowing your a fellow jets fan.
Always enjoy your reviews
Looks really appetizing. I loved watching you eat your meal.
Congratulations on 50k subscribers I always look forward to your videos!
I love your videos, I can taste and sense everything you describe. Honest down to earth, with class. Keep it brother. Forks up.......
1:45 That's the brightest relish I've ever seen 👀 must be super fresh!🤔 Great review.❤
Thank you!
Looks really good definitely a meal.
Chris you should tell them that they need to improve the kraut to have a 10 rated dog. And I’m with you on that. Had kraut in Germany and got spoiled!
German grandmother spoiled me 🥰
Love see chili and onions on it
Your camera is great! Always high quality and you make fun and interesting videos!
I appreciate that!
Good video as always Chris
Great Video Chris. When You Left Diner It Was A Bit out of Focus. Also For That Price I Think The Bun Should Fit The Hotdog. Maybe They Can't Find The Right Size, But Its New York The Right Size Should Not Be Hard To Find. Or Maybe They Just Want It That Way. As Always Can't Wait For Your Next Video.
"Ketchup for the fries only! I'm mustard, relish and sauerkraut too, Chris!!" 🤣😂😅😆😁😄😉😘🥰😍😏🤤😋🥲😝😜🥴🤔🤫🤭🤗😱🤨😒🙄😨😧😲😳🤯🤑🙈🙉🙊🙀😿😻❤️🖤🌭🌭🌭🍟🥙🥛🥤,
Vikings fans know suffering .... (Bills)
Also the kicker hex 😭
9:00 OG Anunoby played in college for my beloved Indiana Hoosiers
Nice plate presentation 🔥. I gotta try that spot’
Looks good keep the videos coming 👍
Chris you got great taste in teams my man! Rangers, Jets, Knicks, Mets fan here . Feeling optimistic about the Jets next season; If we have a healthy Rodgers returning and improved O-Line with everything else staying the same we will be a force in the AFC
I must say that whole plate looked very good, very nice restaurant it seemed to be. As a 49ers fan I'm still recovering from the Superbowl , we were so close of winning but maybe next year huh ? Thanks again for another great video Chris, take care !!!
25$ for a Hot Dog. My Dad had an expression that he liked to use " There is a Sucker Born every Second." R.I.P. Dad. Hahahahahahahaha 😂!!!
Awesome looking dog!!
Yummy !
Just by looking at it, I can tell that it's 100% better than the one you ate at Mischa. It's $5 cheaper,, definitely looks bigger, and it comes with fries. I might have to go check out that place next time I'm in Times Square.
That Looks extremely good wow
Outstanding plating but, let's be honest, after you reached the Holy Grail at Katz's, everything else almost pales in comparison!😊
Katz's 👑👑👑👍
Katz is the one to beat
Does look good tbf
If you ever get the chance I would love to see you do a reveiwe on Mo's famous burger in Harlem NY. His hot sausage is really good and the price of his food is unbeatable. 2.50 for a cheese burger you can't beat it.
Beautiful Onyx Bike out front.
That really looked good
You can never leave the pricey hot dog family capeesh, never ever ever 😆
Nice video Chris. Glad you liked the 1 pounder. That being said, at $25 not a good value at all. I figure that a good fraction of that cost is for the rent to run the place. Wondering if you have found good dogs in the other boroughs?
I do. Will do more. Just did a couple of spots in Queens.
@@NYCHotDogStands Awesome. Grew up there, so it would be great to see how you rate them
Me too. Flushing Queens. Home of the Mets!
@@NYCHotDogStands Grew up in Astoria and Auburndale, so I am near Citifield
MONSTER size 🌭 hot dog looks really good, I love them grilled. For the money I'd probably do Katz hot dogs though, more for the money 💰
Im hungry now😢
I was gonna take my girls and me to this place but now I’m like ehhhhhhh I want a good meal for myself and my kids
Think I'd want a bigger bun with that👍
I would actually.pay the price with fries and salad it's pretty worth it.
That Super Bowl seemed overwhelmingly scripted.
Rolled a little over onto to Rangers/Oilers Stanley Cup...
Did not bet on the Super Bowl. The blocked extra point made the whole game different. Not a Basketball fan. I would pay the money for that good of a meal. The camera quality is good !
Seems like a good value for your dollar. Especially when you can't get out of McDonald's for just a couple of burgers and drink and fries for close to $ 20. So why not go for this, Especially for the great service.
25 dollars for just a hotdog is highway robbery! i want 10 for that price! $17 would be a better price with half a plate of thick cut fries piled up. and a bowl of sourkraut on side. with free lemonade. In an ideal world. happy frankfurter adventuring Chris
Had it too 13.00 at the most 👍🇺🇸
I bought a luxury box at the Super Bowl, but I would not spend $24 for a hot dog.
25$ and no onions? Shame.😂 looks tasty though
Raw or onion sauce rocks 👍
$25 for an all beef wiener. Never. Thanks for sharing.
I would pay $25 for this hot dog 👍 Yummy meal 👍
Ok sounds like you know bout basketball,I’m a warriors fan.
I was a huge Richardson fan.
Can you the hot dog spots that anthony bourdain went to like rudys in hells kitchen or gray papaya
A salad and fries too? Mischa what a joke.🙃
😖 You KNOW that was a salad, Chris! 🥗
You need to eat your vegetables before gin and tonics! 🍸
🤷♂️
Anyway, that actually looked a lot closer to what I would expect a $30+ hotdog to look like.
I'd still rather go to Katz' three times for that price, but I don't think that I would feel like I entirely overpaid for the Brooklyn Diner Dog. 🌭
For $30 you get 6 hot dogs at Katz's....... with no garnish (jk)
So who is the secret maker of this dog? What does it taste like? Because there are only a finite number of companies that would make this frank for this diner.
You look like a young Neil Sedaka.
I can finish that in less than 15 bites....
Yup 👍
Would much rather buy several katz hot dogs. Would be more food
For a $24 meal they skimped on the kraut. 🤷♂️
i would rather go to nicks in whitestone and get 8 dogs🤣
How many times better?
From a thousand to a million. Big range.
Chris why dont you love/like ketchup?????
I love it on my fries... but its too overpowering on a dog.
The bun to dog ratio is all wrong in this dish. They need to put this on two buns (or at least a longer bun), especially for 24 dollars. Sheesh.
Big thick dog
I think the dog is to big for the bun.
Ya 🤔 think. Hahahahahahahaha 😂!!!
Brooklyns Dinner hot dog is a copy of Juniors Cheesecake Dinner hot dog 🤷🏻♂️
Not a fan of the weiner to bun ratio....the bun should be the same length.
15 bites? i know some ladies who could one bite, everyone knows the rules
Needs a bigger bun with poppy seeds for appearance....
The place is a ripoff, the bun is falling apart, where's the onions? Place sucks
A fool and his money... even if it is NYC. I make own that are better.
People getting all over dramatic about ketchup are seeking attention at this point. Ketchup is good on a hot dog.
Looks delicious
