I wouldn't even say beauty so much as character. Things that aren't typically beautiful still fall under the female gaze. For example I have a hand that was broken quite badly and is now a little misshapen as a result. Women LOVE that hand. Not because it's beautiful (it's not) or because it makes me look tough or hot (it doesn't) but because it makes me interesting and shows that I've lived life a bit.

Female gaze on women: desire of independence whilst retaining beauty and selling the feminine ideal.
Female gaze on men: desire of worship or romantic fantasies. This is why, often, in the female gaze, you'll rarely see shirtless 6-packs, but rather more focus on subtly. It's about the fact that the man is in desperate love with the love interest, not how hot he is.
Queer gaze differs depending on identity but generally the same concept. What queer people desire in their own relationships and what they find to be their ideals of masculinity or feminity, which is outside of hetero standards.

If the subject is male and looks approachable/soft or the female subject in the picture looks powerful, then it's the female gaze. And vice versa.
I guess everyone wants to feel powerful but expects the opposite sex (assuming that you're hetero or bi) to give off a welcoming vibe.
That's honestly a great way to break it down in simple terms. But with the female gaze, women can also be portrayed as soft/approachable so long as they are not portrayed as hypersexual. For example, we see this with the girl's girl trope. The girl's girl is approachable and soft. I think the main thing is that with the male gaze both women and men are physically, sexually enticing. Whereas with the female gaze, you can be a hot woman/man, but that is not the main focal point for the plot of the story.

That’s the difference. If you’re confused looking a picture just as yourself “which demographic would like this look more?” The answer is likely whatever gaze they’re dressed for (though keep in mind it doesn’t mean people are constantly dressing for the attention of others and they are likely just wearing what they wanted to wear regardless. Don’t just assume everyone is dressing for others)

For those who are confused. I think this is the perfect portray for all of the "gaze". The male gaze is what men actually enjoy in other people for example: young girls looking seductive (reflecting their sexual desire toward people like that) and muscular aggressive men (reflecting what they admire in other men). The female gaze refleting what women like, for example an aesthetic of a woman looking strong and somewhat dominace, a symbol of feminism is what they admire. Or a gentle, caring loving man as Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. Since I'm not a gay man or a lesbian so I'm not entitled to explain the last 2 but the idea is very similar. What gay men and women like about a gay relationship is very different from what straight men and women like
