I wouldn’t make any money because I love all the things you choose and what you do to them so I would have a house full of orange velvet chairs and green painted cupboards xx

I love how honest you guys are about how you sourced these items. If I ever get into flipping, I would feel better doing the same thing. I think that detail probably doesn’t matter to many people, BUT the effort you put into being honest and having integrity probably means a lot!
I also love love love that you guys are doing this with two small kiddos. It gives me hope that I’ll be able to, too!

I love that you guys made a binge worthy video of all your work! I loved watching. The pink pink velvet swivle chair at about 20 mins gave me anxiety! I'm always so scared of getting another item with bed bugs. Not to say only dirty places can get them because anyone can. But I always check super duper well for bugs or droppings because my mom once got a couch off FB marketplace and it had bed bugs. I don't know if the lady knew or not but my poor kids got on it and one of them got bit all over her face and they swelled up into huge welps and it cost us a lot of money to have our home professionally heat treated. All because someone maybe wanted to make a quick buck selling their furniture. But maybe they didn't know. All that being said, just be super cautious and check closely because they're so tiny and hide!

I just found this couple on UA-cam and was wondering when I watched this video how often people run into bed bug issues with taking someone elses furniture.

Insted of ripping the skirts off the ventage chairs what if you just tucked them under and stapled them tightly underneath! You don't damage the chair and still accomplish your goal! Just a suggestion! Blessings to you guys!

Hi Jamie and Sarah, this is the first time I've sen your channel. Gosh, I'd have bought those orange chairs in a heartbeat! Not sure about the "leather" look painted chairs though. I've seen them done on Lone Fox and a couple of other channels. The finish might be ok for display or set dressing but I can't imagine it would be very nice or durable to sit on. Still, an interesting experiment.
You guys source some terrific items and it's wonderful you enjoy flipping furniture together. Season's Greetings and Happy New Year from Australia!

Hello again! Back in the day ACE Hardware was known for thier specialty in the nuts and bolts area. If you're missing a sertin nut or bolt for a peace of furniture you can most likely find the exact one you're missing at ACE Hardware and you only purchase the quantity you need! Also when it comes to cleaning old dirty furniture I've learned from a buddy of mine the owns a Auto body shop has showed me that I can take them to a high pressure car wash to clean couches ,chairs Etc. Then let them set out in the sun to dry! This works very well! Hope this is helpful in the future! Blessings to guys!

I've prob pulled 1,000,000 staples out from carpet on stairs and this is the easiest way to pull a lot of them. Here's the tip on pulling staples. Try using a pair of dykes or a wide headed plyers. Hold the the plyers so they are upside down As in the head is facing down instead of up. so when you grab the staple you can push the plyers over following the side of the plyers. as you push, the staple will be removed. You will find that the staple will come out without all the yanking.

For painting fabric on furniture try using Anne Sloan chalk paint. I have seen see chairs done with the chalk paint and they turned out nice and smooth and lasts for a long time.

Just note that if you buy a paint gun, a lot require an air compressor of a certain horsepower. I bought one to work with my 1/3hp pancake air compressor and only realized once I was ready to set up that my sprayer required at least 1/2hp compressor to run it. Lol

First time seeing your videos . Just as a point of information . When you painted the dark piece of furniture with the blue / green paint you should always do two coats of paint to see the actual color . This was about the one hour mark in the video .
Thanks for sharing your videos .

The "leather" chairs turned out nicely! Next time, prime them first with primer or an unneeded latex paint. You can buy gallons of oops paint for only $9 at HD, and even cheaper at the Habitat Restore, or yard sales etc. Pretty much every time I go to HD, I check the paint section for good quality and good color Oops gallons, and I buy them for later use. The oops samples or pints are even cheaper, $2-3 or so. Great to have on hand.

I think the problem with the chairs is the fabric, the one alone Fox did was a smooth fabric. Think 1980’s type fabric. I’ve seen others on you tube that had trouble like you did.

The only problem with your flip with the cabinet from Target is # 1 you did not use a primer to make sure the paint sticks and won’t peak & # 2 you didn’t paint the bottom of the doors ! When you put the cane in you could see the yellow on the bottom of the doors !!!

Can you tell me why you take pics with your camera vertically? I see a lot of people doing this. I always thought it was better to do horizontal on the camera phone. Is there something I’m missing out on? Thank you! PS. I love how fair you are with buyers. I’m the same way 🙂

    • @JAMIEANDSARAH
      @JAMIEANDSARAH  2 роки тому +1

Great question! I think it’s because we naturally our phones this way and when you click on a photo, it shows up biggest in this orientation. We do take horizontal photos occasionally, especially if it’s a longer item like a couch.

Just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos. I have subscribed and shared videos with my wife. I also like to restore and repurpose old items. I noticed at the beginning of the 18 my blowing furniture flips video that in the background there are three hands green white and red in the upper right hand corner by a Johnny Cash album. Is there any significance in the three colored hands? They are arranged the same colors as the Italian flag. Also very common Christmas colors as well!!!.

First time watching your videos. You got great finds! By the way, the fabric softener "Suavitel" is a very popular name brand. You probably never heard of it because it's a Mexican product. Have fun making more videos.😊

I have not seen your videos before but I must say I thought this one was fab, yes I grew up in the sixties and I'm still saying fab lol. I loved all the furniture you renovated, except the painted leather look chairs well you can't win them all. I look forward to seeing more. I also watched an Amazon returns video with all the filters I enjoyed that also. You have a beautiful home too. I look forward to seeing more of you both. Stay safe lots of love, Dot x

It would have been nice to tree plaster the painted chair.

I would have broke the dining set u up and sold each pc. for $80. Idk if the extra work but that’s an extra $100

If you’re still looking for a blue like what was on that can of paint get Benjamin Moore “boothbay gray”. Its a pretty close match and It’s my favorite. My whole house is painted in it and I do most of my flips in it. No shame 🤣🙈

Do the people you buy the stuff from on FB ever come back at you when you flip it for much more than you paid? Has anyone ever done that yet?

Please don't tell me you left the bottom of that door yellow... if so that's super lazy.
