I love one wakes, people don't appreciate how great boats are because they've never experienced a nice power boat like this. anyways, keep doing it! it's a nice balance between the canyons and the oceans.
I'm a car guy, but the One Wake's are dope. Anyone who's never been in a fast ass boat just doesn't understand. Love the content, especially the video podcasts!
One of my favorite boats! When I was a baby my dad used to let me sit in his Glaston cvx20 but sold it before I could come to wits... Ever since then, I’ve always loved speed boats and the Donzi classic series is one of the best
Years ago, Matt's review of the Jaguar XKR sold me on the car. A month after seeing that video, I was driving my 2010 home. Best first date ever. And now I see this, having a crush on these since I was a kid in the 80's. I'm getting the same feelings of desire as I did with the XKR, so I guess I'm going to have to start planning for the addition of a 22C. Thanks, Matt! I love it when you spend my money!
love it, I grew up around hot boats. Dad had a sweet 16 before my time but for the past 15? or so years he has had an 18 classic with what was a 300hp mercruiser 350 but now is a 383ci making about 400hp. donzi classics are really fun boats
Back in 1974 I got a ride on a 16 footer with a Ford 289 4bbl. The old man that had it idled it out of the harbor and when we hit the bay he started scanning the horizon. We soon found what he wanted, a 50 foot Hatteras making a huge wake. We shot over and started jumping the wake while the folks on the Hatteras cheered. It was a blast.
Back in the 60's when kids, Don sold the first 18 in NJ to a buddy who jumped a large SF wake in Manasquan River and landed head on into a lashed together group of channel pilings. No deaths but several injuries. That original 18 with a 165 hp was replaced with one with 235 HP. Back then Donzi's had deeper V that ran all the way to the stern.
Keep the one wakes going!!! Power!!! Cars and boats go hand in hand as the standard boys toys. Both are awesome and both give you a very similar feeling. Boats are easier to bring people along in soooooooo.... hell ya. Keep it up.
I'll watch all the One Wakes you care to make, Matt! I remember the first Donzis showing up in our area back in the 80's. Seeing this one go reminds me of my father's 1980 Excalibur 27 foot with a pair of Mercury 225 outboards, counter rotating "surface-drive" mirror polished stainless propellers. Would run 70 if you trimmed it out right, and the spray coming off the propellers was about 15 feet high at full throttle, when it would use a gallon of fuel per minute. That was fun.
I dream of owning an 18' Donzi Classic....but of the 70's variant. My Uncle owned '73 lefthand drive white with red stripe and I'll hunt that boat down and buy it without second thoughts. That was part of my summer time dreams in Michigan was getting to go out on his Donzi for a spin around the lake. The sound and the way those boats sit in the water is just straight up orgasmic :\
Love the One Wake's.. I'm leaving for the Lake Monroe in Bloomington, IN for the weekend in about 2hrs.. Being on the lake on the weekends is great fun and relaxation.. I have a 230hp sea-doo and my brother in law has a 23' maxum.. , and dad has a bennington pontoon.. such fun..
I am extremely envious of you guys, we still have 2 ft of ice on our lakes and snow over my head! I also run a Donzi but its a Black Hawk, I am running a blown 502 bored .030 over very good heads and cam and an 8-71 roots blower. This year I decided to upgrade my K-plates to 280s which will replace the 150s the boat came with and my goal is to stabilize the boat a bit more at higher speeds. If all goes well then the new wheel will go on and that should get my speed up to where I can utilize some of the HP I am producing. I have a ways to go but watching vids helps a little and hurts a little!!!
I have wanted a 22' Donzi since I was a little kid. Most of your viewers don't realize how fast fifty on the water is. It's like doing a hundred on the road. When you started to chine walk at 63, you could tell the dealer was a little worried. Great one wake!
Thank you for getting out of the drivers seat. That also looked a bit scary at 67mph. Great video Matt. I liked this one. Its hard to learn a boat like that in 2 min.
Nice video! I used to commute to work 45 min each way in a '90 18' Classic as a 14 year old. I was a jet ski instructor. Tabs? What tabs? My tabs never worked at all haha. It was an OMC! Only left me stranded about 7 times :) Surprised you couldn't get a little more top end out of all that HP, granted it's a 22' not an 18' but I was used to seeing close to those speeds at "almost stock" when fully blasting it and trimmed out to the max. I was expecting you guys to pull mid 70's. Then again I thought everything was slow compared to the executioner we had next to it which radared at 117...I never got to drive that one. Twin 900 HP Ferrara's in that.
There used to be a yellow Donzi 22 with a factory installed Mopar 440 six pack in the cottage country town I grew up in. After some research it turns out they made very few of them, 71 hemi cuda convertible few - and its not around anymore. We still have a cottage up there and a '22 will be the boat I buy if I ever buy one.
I'm down with more boats, Matt. This was one hell of a machine and thoroughly enjoyable, I've always dug Donzis. Very cool to also see the maestro take the helm and put the hammer down. One Wake's are cool by me.
Matt, I like the branching out, I think you could make a thing of this theme. I want to see guys who drive difficult machines teach you how to operate them. Think Mike Rowe and dirty Jobs. Within one day can you do as the pro's do?
3rd times a Charm Matt. Bravo, this video was a home run!!! All the previous problems with the other boat vids RESOLVED. Now lets do a Nor-Tech or an OuterLimits with some big power.
Love the One Wakes! I can relate to this one pretty well. I have an early 80s Checkmate with a big Merc outboard and cable steering. I compare it to driving a 60s muscle car. Pretty bad handling compared to anything modern but man it gets up and goes. A little scary but a lot of fun!
my uncle had a '73 or '74 when i was a little kid, i loved that fucking boat. so loud even with the mufflers the people on the lake made him put on but god, what a fast killer boat.
my favorite boat addition one take so far. Keep it up doing great, i was slow to dig it, but i enjoyed this as much as my farvorite bmw based one takes!
@thesmokingtire Don Aronow started Donzi in 1964 and sold it long before 1970. In the seventies, Aronow was racing Cigarettes. (And in between he started Magnum Marine)
Absolutely beautiful! Nothing like a Donzi.
Love the One Wakes keep them coming Matt
EJ Papas Yes!!
I love one wakes, people don't appreciate how great boats are because they've never experienced a nice power boat like this. anyways, keep doing it! it's a nice balance between the canyons and the oceans.

Right, speed on the water is an entirely different ball game.
I'm nearly 60 years old and I wanted one of these since a long time.
That thing needs a pair of Recaro's, 800 hp and 50 kilos of smack to transport.
Taco Pro everyone knows an KS can make 2000
Your dumb
I'm loving the one wakes! A little change of pace on Fridays is nice.
One of my favorite boats!

Love that boat!!!!!!! Buddy had a similar Donzi in the 90s. Water speed with that sound is fantastic. Speed you can use without going to jail.
Now THIS is the type of boat content that belongs on this channel. More power boats!
That's a beautiful Donzi.
Loving the boat stuff dude.
I can't believe I have been missing out on this series! Thanks Matt!
Im glad matt is doing what he wants to do, when someone does what he loves the result is often good. Good for you Matt!
Love the lines of that boat.
A Donzi! Fantastic/nostalgic.
It's your channel Matt. Don't listen to the boat haters. Keep the one wakes coming please.
Tony Soprano!
Nice to see them keeping the sweet 22 alive and well...beautiful job...great first boat
For people who are not super rich would be their last boat. I could not even afford this one lol.
Keep the one wakes going!!! Power!!! Cars and boats go hand in hand as the standard boys toys. Both are awesome and both give you a very similar feeling. Boats are easier to bring people along in soooooooo.... hell ya. Keep it up.
I look forward to these every Friday
I love that you gave him the wheel Matt that made this very interesting and cool!! Keep doing that!!!
22 Classic is just that a classic. Always one of the prettiest boats at the dock even sitting next to 35'+ boats.
Boy was he pissed
when he called him a sailor !
😝 By his comments
Mat knows nothing about boats..
Whatever content Matt uploads this shit is gold. Its not only the content its the person as well
I had the same boat. Loved it
It is fun to sit here and watch Matt be a bit uncomfortable with that boat. Happy to see this series, and looking forward to watching it grow.
I'll watch all the One Wakes you care to make, Matt!

Why does Buddy look like Heisenberg's brother in law?
facts
Fucking Hank
I got more of a Tony Soprano vibe from him lol
I got the soprano vibe too
CrJediKnight lol yeah I was thinking james gandolfini too😂
Man, folks who grew up around powerboats, they all know the Donzi name. Speed legends from way back. Definitely a hot rod boat.
Had one just like this years ago. Thanks for bringing back memories
Thank you for getting out of the drivers seat. That also looked a bit scary at 67mph. Great video Matt. I liked this one. Its hard to learn a boat like that in 2 min.

Love the boat content. Especially this one
Love the boat reviews.

That's what I was thinking too! Would be awesome if Matt would review all round awesome engineering machines :)
Not a boat person but I do like the different content. Keep the good work up Matt 👍🏻
Best One Wake video I’ve seen. The dude from Iconic Marine is cool af
What a beautiful boat, it’s an icon for sure.
Donzi is nice for the lake but I'm liking that center console Fountain. How about taking us for a spin on that one?
The one wakes are great matt! Keep them comin dude!!
3rd times a Charm Matt. Bravo, this video was a home run!!! All the previous problems with the other boat vids RESOLVED. Now lets do a Nor-Tech or an OuterLimits with some big power.
Digging the One Wake content
I have to say these one wakes are awesome for fridays.
I like these videos more than the car ones at the moment for no reason 😂
I Donzi a problem with this video.
That boat is gnarly
The smoking prop! Nice. Keep them coming. More metal flake!

This is an awesome boat, very much the equivalent of a true drivers car. Have to work so many things and clearly are rewarding experience
Really enjoying the boat reviews
Wow that dude is a boss
My all time favorite go fast boat the 22 donzi!
sounds great!
Love Donzi’s. Two lines make up the shape and they’re perfect and super distinguishable. That being said, my hydrostream would smoke it…
I love these one wakes
my favorite boat addition one take so far.
Love the boats! Keep them coming.
Nice boat!!!
that engine sounds fantastic
Matt and this guy are such dorks. I say that with all kindness in mind. Don't kill me keyboard commandos.
Love the one wakes
Matt needs to do a One Wake with Mike Finnegan's "Game Over" drag boat!
Keep the boat videos coming
Nice, love the engine!!
love it. keep it coming matt!
Nice job. Love the boat vids. Do the lamboat!
thats fast for a boat that size. also the audio is surprisingly decent for all the wind you'd begetting doing these speeds
That 22 is one fine hull -- I'm sure she rides like a Caddy!
