Not a real big fan of the boating scene, but when I saw 1,000+ horsepower, this definitely peaked my interest.
Ryan Cowtan I have a certain interest towards the big horsepower cigarette boats. Yes, they are heavy AF but all that power definitely moves out.

It's hard to appreciate 70+ mph on the water if you don't have experience with boats. It's fucking fast.. 65 might as well be 100 in my book. Cool boat & cool vid.

Just got to drive a 2017 Nor-Tech 390 Sport with triple 350's and I was beyond impressed. The boat is so smooth and stable at 70 it feels super planted. They really are a step above in the fit and finish of the boats, from the center console to the seats, and even down to the cabin the boat really felt it was worth every single penny. To everyone that is saying this boat isn't so fast for 1,000 plus hp remember with these big center consoles they won't reach the same speeds as the Formula Fastechs or Cigarette Top Guns they're just not built the same way but to have all that space available and go out fishing and still reach speeds that high is mighty impressive for a boat that size. Also I am loving the one wakes Matt, they are really fun to watch, adds something new to the channel and is very unique to what everyone else is doing, keep them coming!

What lol... thats plenty fast for a 38 with trips, you can configure quads. Fountain Hulls are extremely efficient, both speed wise and fuel burn.
Really not that slow for a pilot house fisher. If it was a cigar hull with 1000hp, yeah that would be slow. The hull on this is designed for cruising stability, efficiency and to be stable at rest (fishing). I'm going to guess that next week Matt is going to be doing a one wake of a cigar boat based on his comment.

What a lot of the readers are missing here is the 38 Fountain is a FISHING boat. Reggie Fountain is a race/sport boat driver/builder, but this particular boat isn't designed for all out performance. Most big center console boats in this category are designed for fishing, sandbar posing and Island runs. Matt, see if you can get a ride on a 53 Suenos with Quad 7 Marine power. That would probably stop some of the boat hate from the land lubbers.

The 53 hydra sports is beautiful but I can't help but think that just insane for a center console.

Thing is nutty as hell in the best way possible. That's 5 mph faster than I've done in a boat, but that was a speed boat with a noisy and choppy v8 that made me fear for my life because it felt like it was going to take off. Rock solid and quiet at 75 and multi functional is well worth 300k. Love em Matt. As long as you keep doing cars too I'm about this for sure

It's funny... I came to this channel for cars. Although recently I have taken a hiatus from being a car guy... the boat reviews are perfect keep it up Matt!
Keep up the one wakes I like the variety. There is only so much to learn about rubbing infinitis lol but I know nothing about boats and this is a good way to learn.

For those of you interested in the motors each of those out boards is supercharged & intercooled. 350hp with 2.6l of displacement & 668 lbs dry. I think the retail on each motor is $31k - 35k.
Lots of power, no speed restriction and a very good feeling of speed (even at 75)... that's why I like these videos about boats and I can't wait for the review of one of these smuggling/race boats (there's one of Google Images with 8 outboard engines).
Matt, these one Wakes are awesome, possibly more entertaining than a lot of the cars on the show. Keep doing these.

6 years ago I did 82 mph on gps in a 700+ horsepower all aluminum fuel injected 496 ci baja right next to the I-90 floating bridges from Mercer Island to Seattle, it was a weird sensation passing cars doing freeway speeds while throwing up a gigantic rooster tail that hit the cars we were passing..... It was a truly epic experience!!!

These are cool, I would like to see some one wakes with Jetskis. There are some nasty fast rigs out these days. If you wanna go faster than 75MPH on the water check out the Seadoo CRT or Yamaha FZR. That would be entertaining to watch you try to hold on Matt!

Don't think Reggie F. ever wants anyone to pass him. First class treatment you got there. 300 k new surprised me -outboard fishin' boats in that size range are topping 500 k. Fountain has always been good bang for the buck. Boat prices make car prices sound silly. Careful Matt - it's a rabbit hole.

Nice! I'm loving the boat videos too. Fountain makes great go fast boats, but the compromise is stability at low speeds/idle when offshore fishing a reef or something. Try and do a review on a Yellowfin or Everglades center console as well.

God I love Fountains, I miss the days when they made boats like the Lightning, Fever and Executioner. When I first got into boating was around the time they came out with the step bottom system.

Dammit Matt, you're going to get me started on an even MORE expensive hobby. I think I've done 45-50 in a boat and the sensation of speed with the wind and wake (and being right on the water) is a whole different animal. What's the fuel consumption like on a boat like that?
