- This is a tiny house that has it all! It’s open, modern, spacious and packed full of great design features that make living in this home a dream. Parked up in Queenstown, it also boasts some dazzling views of the surrounding mountains.
Leon and Jariya decided to make the move into a tiny house after spending a year traveling in a caravan around New Zealand. Nomadic at heart, the couple loved the idea of having a beautiful place to call home which would meet their needs but that they could also relocate when they choose to.
There’s a lot to love about this tiny house design. It’s perfectly tailored for indoor / outdoor flow, and everything throughout the home is quality. You’re not left wanting for any of the modern conveniences in this tiny home, which even boasts a top entertainment system, smart home automation features (including an automatic watering system for the plants) and much more.

I really enjoyed the tour of this tiny home because of the focus on height. Being on the taller size myself and my son is 6 foot 6 inches in height. This well thought out home is inspirational.
This would be my ultimate dream. Leon and Jariya have a beautiful home and sitting there in the sofa looking out at those mountains is mood lifting and the best thing that anyone can wish for. The couple have made this into a beautiful home.

Tiny living has taught me that it is not so much about being a minimalist, but about utilizing your space to the max, and prioritizing what's important. He has his couch, she has that gorgeous kitchen, and I suspect they don't feel like they are on top of each other. Thanks for another great tour!

These "tiny" homes seem sooo huge and perfect to me. There's nothing missing! I would be more than happy living in one of these with my dog!!!

Wow, the area around is absolutly incredible. If you wake up in the morning and can enjoy that view, there can‘t be a bad day. What I really like is the mix between a little bit of luxury and the reduced interior. The whole house seems to be spacious, practical and comfortable, but not at all cluttered.
It's not lazy, I consider it "more efficient" that you have a system in place to water the plants and that pot filler for the kitchen. Yes, your kitchen is WAY larger than my apartment kitchen. Love it.
I agree. Also, sometimes it those big lots can be really heavy. A pot filler is a smart addition
I still remember when tiny houses blew up! Around 2019ish if I'm correct. Hard to believe all these years later I'm still here and still into tiny house lifestyle!

@@SL-it5lk Tiny House Living started getting huge on social media. Netflix, Hulu, and other Television streaming services caught onto this and started releasing shows about Tiny Houses and Tiny Living. It was very popular online and even made a few debuts into certain news outlets.

I love this house, the orange tiles in the kitchen provide a lovely pop of colour along with the blue in the bathroom. I love that it has proper staircases not ladders and it really is chic with stunning views.
I've never seen a contemporary design "feel" so warm, comforting, and inviting. Incredibly beautiful design, perfectly executed. The blue tile in the bath is stunning. By far one of my favorites now.
This guy really decided to get everything he wanted in that house! (and a pot filler LOL) This is a great house, you can see how much thought and planning went into it. I love how he included great ideas from his partner, too! Lovely home!

Love the plant watering system, the extended water tap in kitchen and the most important thing, toilet hose.. Being an Asian it really is an important thing, and its the first time I saw that thing in any tiny house video..😁

Great video Bryce! I've watched probably 50 of your videos, and there are several of the Tiny Houses that I thought were nice and imagined myself living in, but this one tops them all! The design and quality are great, and the views are amazing.
Leon said the magic phrase: the other houses I've lived in were made by other people, this house represents me, it's my home" Very elegant with the minimal style that I love, beautiful stairs. As I've written before, the interior of these tiny houses always surprises me!! The space is amazing. Leon speaks beautiful English 😁
This is the first home, after watching for several years, where I would happily copy this design. Tiny homes are about building your unique space, but this one is so similar to what I would want. It doesn't hurt to have the absolute best views in the world.

This is called using all the space you have and made it practical , spaaceous and functional
I hope Jacinda and the NZ gov recongnize tiny house / caravans / vans etc as legitimate housing options with all the legal, financial, social benefits.
Here in New Zealand, Tiny Homes are legally recognised as caravans/motor homes.
We have a lot of local councils taking Tiny Home owners to court because they don’t meet housing requirements.
And every time the cases are thrown out of the courts, because they come under vehicle legislation.
Our councillors are a bit slow to get with the program, and love wasting our rates money on legal action which is guaranteed to fail.
I live in an area where off the grid, tiny house living is off the charts.
You name, we have every alternative living space imaginable.
I love our local community, some live tiny for economic reasons and others by choice.
However, regardless of our personal reasons, we all share the same appreciation for living a simpler life, where community matters.

I was in Queenstown in 1989 when I lived in The Netherlands. I've been in the US since 1995 and still dream of the staggering beauty of the Queenstown area. Great job on the house, the layout and the party pieces, and great job on the video! I hope to see Queenstown again some day...
This was such a great design! Loved how open the kitchen is and bathroom! Plus three bedrooms?!!! Genius!!
OMG...the details of this home are outstanding! So many well thought out details - the lighting, the sound, the plant watering system, the toilet, the sofa, the whole kitchen ares, etc. etc. It is a home where at first glance, I thought it would be a cookie-cutter tiny house, but Wow - the details proved that wrong! Lovely home! Amazing location!

Funny how he talks about enjoying a space. Then the camera shows them slouching staring at a phone. Oh yeah! Pure enjoyment there.
Nearly speechless. The openess & mountain views are simply breathtaking. I adore the mountains after living two yrs in a valley in Montana, USA, surrounded by the Rocky mountains. It was such was a delight. There's something about the majestic height reaching the big open sky that brings such peace & contentment with a feeling of being so much closer to the universe. It's unmatchable.
And can we talk about the tilework in this home that had complementary groutwork. I was astounded and fell in love with it. Now that's how you make the tiles POP and become a stunning feature of the design instead of disappearing into nothingness. I kind of shocked Bryce didn't hone in in this like he usually does. I'm so glad that whomever was filming didn't ignoring this beautiful feature of the home in kitchen. I LOVE the used blue in the bath that seems in harmony with the big sky vistas they see through all the wind5ows. The kithen follows that with the complement of blue with that earthy orange of the land, connecting earth & sky inside, with the outside. I don't think in this instance it could have been done better. Another couple featured was surrounded by forest and had used forest green throughout which popped the type of timber they had used to echo their exterior. Again using complementary colors to great effect. Iwas thinking of that build when Bryce and Leon were in the sleeping loft where the exterior vistas was the white snow and green trees in winter and the green meadows and valleys, with the trees in spring and summer, could have been echoed on the back of the planter box so effectively to connect again the outside inside. Which again, green is complementary to both blue and orange,( a split triad, I think) tying things neatly together, since they had used the white of the snow throughout to make the inside be in total harmony with outside. Thoughtful intention was the shining star of this build and something that resonated deeply with me.
I would expect no less being that he lived and loved in the stunningly serene Asian country that he lived in and was the birthplace of his partner.
As one can probably tell this home is now a fav at the top of my list . And I didn't even mention yet that wonderful kitchen layout, the cool stairs to the loft, the cozy heating source, and how lovely it will all flow once they get the deck built. The only drawbacks for me personally, was no ground floor master and a wider door into the restroom. I also wasn't enamored with an OUTDOOR washer dryer combo, that for me wouldn't work in the bitter snow & cold of winter. Thank you Bryce and Rasa along with Leon & his partner for sharing their home that was so harmonious and intentional. Namaste.

I did a 17 day camper van trip in South Island New Zealand. It's the most beautiful place I've ever been on the planet. Tiny Home seems perfect here.

I think this might be my favorite house featured in this channel. Design is to my liking, love the reclining couch (definitely not an overkill lol I like watching movies so that's a huge plus), the spacious kitchen with nice size fridge and that glossy "brick" backsplash, the lighting, the extra loft, how they have all those huge windows.

Okay so honest question.... are there no insects in New Zealand? I feel like this isn't the first tiny house I've seen on this show with big bifold windows that don't seem to have any screens? (Amazing looking BTW!) Here in Ontario Canada you could maybe get away with that for a few weeks in the fall, but the rest of the warm weather months you;d find your space inundated with mosquitos and other pests.
I looked this up before, and unless you live very near a river or stream/swamp, the insects just don't seem that bad. It sure seems odd to me, but I guess I never see any bugs in the videos, or hear about problems.
I'm in Ohio and we have had far, far less insects in the last five years in the summer, hardly any more butterflies, lady bugs, pests either. It's just weird.
@@lizh1988 thanks for looking it up! Odd about the bugs in Ohio. That would surely also affect the bird population and in general be a sign that the ecosystem is in trouble.
To bring this thread full circle: I grew up in Ohio, moved away as an adult and lived 3-5 years in Queenstown, then came back to summer in Ohio this year (2022). Growing up in Ohio was full of bugs, and everyone has screens on their windows. Traveling the world and living in Queenstown for several years, I noticed there are no bugs or window screens in most the rest of the world. In Queenstown there are itchy sandflies within a few feet of water, but rarely beyond that. Then living in Ohio again this summer and working outside (on a tiny house campervan) 'til dark, I have been shocked I haven't seen or been bitten by a mosquito, and if I have lights on inside, hardly any bugs are attracted to the light. I have been wondering where all the bugs went in Ohio. But I assume there never were any bugs in New Zealand because I traveled the whole country and only saw a window screen I think once.

One of the very best of these vids! IMO: what is needed is a barrier of some sort on the side of the bed in the bedroom near the stairway area for safety. Otherwise, this tiny home is superb.
