Here's one with steel strings. The last 2 or 3 had Nylguts. Walnut octagon pot, baltic birch 3mm ply top, 3 piece cherry and walnut neck. The tune is Durang's Hornpipe.
Had some thoughts on a design for a custom banjo. This video confirms I’m not absolutely nuts for what I’m imagining. 😂 Or rather, that what I’m imagining should sound as good as I’m hoping. Looking forward to going through your other videos!
Thanks Andries. Good to hear from you! The Junk Mountain Band is still playing. We'll be at the Pennsylvania Cigar Box Guitar Festival in a couple of weeks.
Just listened to the wood top banjo video from eight years ago. I most definitely like the sound of that one much better than this one. Not that this one sounds bad, it's just too "dulcimer" sounding for my taste, and I don't like the dulcimer. Nonetheless, you are a true craftsman and artist.
This is great, thank you for sharing.
Sparkly, in a good way! I like it!
Thank you Noah! 😊
Nice, Jim! Love the sound of wood top banjos, especially with you playing them!
Thank you Sue.

@@morbanjo2503 see you then unless you pass a junky blue Honda still trying to get up the mountain.
Sounds beautiful. Id like to someday ask you to build me a salad bowl banjo with a tac head. Then I need to learn to play it.
Another nice Banjo! Thanks! 😎
Thanks!
So this is the one backing up your fiddle on Green Willis? Cool!
Yessir!
Nice mellow tone. Pretty sure you're going to be invited to the next porchfest in Deep Creek. Such fun!
Thanks Lou. Looks like you guys had fun!
Beautiful banjo! Great tune and playing! I like how the neck is raised a little off the pot. Get better action this way.
Thank you Dan. I agree.
