Mr. Lonnie Brooks a true gentleman one mighty fine grade A + Blues Man
Caught Mr. Brooks, his Son and their band years ago; love 'em! I was walking home from work one night, having gotten the rest of the night off due to a schedule mistake, and I actually recognized Koko Taylor in the back of a limo as the car rounded the corner by me, so I followed that car! Turned out there was an outdoor concert starring Koko, and Lonnie Brooks' band was opening. They absolutely smoked!
RIP Lonnie, Brother, I could hear you play any day, anytime!!
DAMN,THIS IS THE BLUES FOR REAL. SOUNDS SOOO GOOD!
I am rock music fan and I've never heard this guy until now. It's a pity to know him now after his death!
This was my neighbor and my honorary Grandpa! It was such a pleasure to know him. I even sang this song on stage with them before. Wow, what an amazing childhood memory...

Dedicated to the memories of my mother; Queen Nana Yaa Asantewah (DeLoice Phelps)👑. She made her transition into eternal life on August 8, 2020. When she were here on this earth she loved ❤️ to hear Lonnie Brooks sing 🎤 and play 🎸 the tune "Sweet Home Chicago." So let the music play, let it play on and on and on 🎼🎶🎵🎹🥁🎺🎻🎷🎤🎸💃🕴️😃💞
WHEW, that voice gets your attention, and the guitar sound also attacks your senses, LONNIE BROOKS outstanding bending those strings brother also has his footprints,a signature guitar sound you can hear his first few notes 🎶 and know distinguish him, outstanding accomplishment from his son also carrying on his dad's leagcy , great work play on brothers!
Had drinks with him in between sets at Shades! One of the best shows ever!! ❤🎸❤
You bet! Lovin' it!
The sound company I worked for did a lot of work with his management company when they played the Rockford area. I did four or five shows with Mr. Brooks back in the late '80s early nineties. He was always the nicest guy in the room. I still have a signed photo that says, "To Rick, best wishes Lonnie Brooks" It's right next to Big Daddy Kinsey, and Bun E. Carlos auto pictures I have in the man cave. I love seeing this, and the fact that his son is carrying the torch, as they say. Nice people.
I saw Lonnie Brooks at the Memorial Union at the UW-Madison in 1985. Will never forget it. The UW management literally had to push the band offstage to close the house and the crowd was ready to riot.
RIP Lonnie
