Please don't take the alternate ship rewards recommendations at the end too seriously. I just wanted to (very) briefly give some thoughts on them. Some of which I haven't played in a very long time, or at all. If you have your own recommendations for the alternate ship rewards, leave them below so those looking for more opinions read them in the comments.
if you are pitching ideas to WG here's my idea for getting past DY ships. have one of the dockyard events every year have an open reward ship from past DYs. that way newer players can get some of these good ships they missed out on. for players that have been loyal DY event buyers, give them a coupon for any resource ship in the armory as a reward for their loyalty over the years. one other idea i have is to bring back an event with the original PR DY missions that were super tough. i would like to see how far my game play has progressed. plus, back then i think i only had ships up to tier 7 to work with and limited options/knowledge of how to game the game. they could run it as a two options contest, the first would be to do the missions in the original time frame with the reward being a tier 10 ship coupon. the second option could be to do the missions in a "as you can" time frame with a smaller reward at the end, maybe a tier t-6 ship or not. either way players would need to choose at the start and can't change their choice after they make it. hard way for "maybe" a free t-10 ship if you get the missions done in time, or the easy way taking as long as you want for a smaller reward. back when we had the original DY we also had the hall of fame you went into to earn extra rewards until the next update/missions started. at the end of the PR DY there were only 78 players (i believe) that made it to the hall of fame, so that is all the player that completed the original DY.
I took all my points and spent them on Super Containers. So far, I've won 8000 dubs, 2 months of premium time, a T6 premium ship and a whole lot of other goodies. This haul is worth so much more to me than a Rochester, a ship I don't want or need. The dubs and the premium time directly save me real money. That's what I need.
absolutely. easiest logic: what will benefit you more over the next year? various goods from SC if you dont land on ship drop? or possible t8 port queen you take out maybe/sometimes? I got all SCs first and getting rochester purely for one reason ... to remove it from SC droplist
i take rochester and then left overs for SC..a ship still a ship and every year get more resources even just one ship but im different, im not a active player anymore and still have 15k free db sitting plus 7.5mil fxp plus whole lots of bonuses plus flags..up to a point premium time and db become less valuable in this game
@@ImRandomDude I'm doing the opposite: spending all but 6,250 tokens on SC's, opening them in the hopes of getting Rochester (and Leipzig, toward getting the DY ship without doubloons), so that way I could then 1) use the coupon to pick my own tier 8, and 2) use the 6,250 to buy more SC's et al.
Agree, super containers are mainly worth it for the other stuff. I got a München (surprisingly decent ship), but the premium time, coal and flags are what’s really helpful. Didn‘t get any doubloons though, not one.
I picked the Borodino and I was very surprised of the fun I had playing it. it is not a Slava but can crush and punish enemies pretty well. The radar is useful and helps you when you need to reduce the distance from the enemy line. Its gameplay is all about positioning and understandind the map that is, for me, a good plus.
I have the Anchorage and I don't play it much, so I used my 23k festive tokens for 110 super containers and putting the rest in the Pan-Am commander containers, since it's like a discount on a coal commander. Supers actually paid off with 2 ships (Hyuga and Strasbourg), 35 days prem, 5k dubs, 4500 steel, 75k coal, 1500 RBP, 600k elite xp, and hundreds of good signals.
Or mabe you keep the heals, but they get a reload buff if you're shot at from higher tier ships? Something kinda like AR but for consumeables? Would be nice i think
Heh, at this point, implementing that probably would case the game to self divide by zero, cause mass extinction and nuclear fallout. Given how spaghetti we’ve seen the bugs in the game are, I wouldn’t discount it.
i really like the new reward system for getting your bonus rewards on ships. i just played t-7 ranked and got mine (430 t-5+ ships) done in a few days. i asked in chat during last week's twitch stream if it would be the same for the snowflakes and the person moderating answered and said, "it might be, but i don't know if i like it yet and decisions were still being made". i sure hope it stays, it takes so much stress off of grinding through so many ships i never play and don't have set up at all.
I only have about 230 ships and I got Rochester in a few days. And yeah, she's comfy to play with the smoke and good conceal. As for the tokens, you do have to consider whether you want to spend 6000 on Rochester or save them for the Pan-American unique commander, unless you have enough high tier ships to cover both of them.
@@billcipher8942 Well if you have a LOT of high tier ships then you can get the commander AND the Rochester. But I'm short 4 puzzle pieces. Gotta wait now until you can buy the rest, hopefully for coal.

Maybe just a pipe dream but I really would like it if for WoWS 10th anniversary they let you have any 1 premium tier 8 you want. And for older players who've been with the game for >6 years, you get special access to tier 8 ships that haven't been sold for a very long time like Lenin, Enterprise, Massa, or Kutuzov.
There is a Massa B for a while now, so i would take that out for most people who just want to play a Massa. Collectors that want them ALL are still a thing though. :) I traded my Enterprise for a Karl Johan in the recent event, so you can say iam no hardcore collector for sure.
Those rare ships are locked behind expensive Christmas loot boxes and one in a million shots of sc drops. This is how wg bilks their whales, there's no way they will give them away.
Rooster is one of my favorite boats, I have a few replays on my channel that shows the strengths of this unit. It's accurate, has strong AA, okay armor and it brings its concealment along with it.
I spent mine on the Pan American commander, I've paid the price for not finishing the collection during events when I had to pay coal for Sansonetti and Zhenbing so I wanted to make sure I finished the collection first before I got any super containers, which are kinda terrible nowadays anyways. I think I've spent something like 14-15k tokens on the collection so far, need like 4-5 more pieces before I'm finished.
Thanks for doing the Rochester man! I personally had fun gambling super containers, got a month worths of premium time and lots of coal for a new coal ship soon.
I believe you mean the terrible? Yes it’s a very strong t8 DD. It can fight every ship type except the cancers (Just Dodge). Good AP, Good HE, Very Zoom Zoom, French saturation, good torps. Very nice.
With all my ships in port I managed to get the Rochester pretty easily plus 105 super containers from which I got a couple of half decent Tier 7s and 4000 doubloons. I've already got the Anchorage which I don't really like and don't play very often but I'm quite enjoying the Rochester.
@@FrostBeam009 Neuvo's a good ship and Boise is actually the copy paste since Neuvo came out in the game first. The biggest drawback for her is limited range unfortunately.
nuevo is an amazing ship for ranked battles, but it needs IFHE. but even with the reduced fire chance, with that many guns benefits of IFHE are far bigger than cons.
I picked up the Rochester. It's a solid tug as well as the Wichta. Bayard is a nice surprise. It's like a Cleveland without radar, but has reload booster and torps.
Don't forget about Bayard's Speed Boost, zipping around at 40 knots+ and if a BB shoots at you, slam it into reverse, add a bit of rudder and there's a good chance they miss.
I'm enjoying the hell out of the Rochester ,The other Premium American Cruiser I have is San Diego, Totally different play styles, and well this feels like a Baby-De Moines of course. ty PotatoQuality. take care.
Been wanting a Rochester vid for aaages! Got one from a super container 2 years ago and it's one of my favourite ships for t8 ranked Also 2nd best AA at t8 so can be kinda fun to play aggressive in double cv games, one of the few ships I trust to actually shoot planes down
might be a bit late, but when the event started i was deciding whether should i go for this ship, or as many super container as possible. my decision was to go for as many super container as possible to stock up on bonuses, flags and resources, which will help me way more in the long run than this ship. going back, i do not regret my decision. so far i got 50ish super containers. regarding the size of my fleet, I would put it at a medium size. So it was either this ship or containers.
I have 459 ships in port now and I've collected all the available tokens from ships (the only 2 tech tree ships I don't have are the Nakhimov and the Essex), there's a balancing act for spending the tokens, so far I got the rochester , 9 sets of rare bonuses, 112 supercontainers which gave me 3000 gold 30,000 coal, loads of econ bonuses/flags plus a mutsu, ashitaka and dalian, (pleasant surprise wasn't expecting a huge ship trawl given the number I already have!) got 57 pieces of the collection from buying the PanAm containers. waiting to collect the final 7 free PanAm containers from the event and daily rewards to see if I need to buy any to complete the collection for the special captain if not I'll be able to get the final 13 supercontainers, otherwise the tokens from the dockyard and the free PanAm BB should make up some of the deficit (worse case will miss 1 supercontainer, unless I freeXP the Nakhimov!). Picked up the Vanguard with the 100% cash back ship coupon simply because its the one that cost the most in dubs and I have most of the ones on offer that I was interested in. WRT Rochester, so far prefer the anchorage and Baltimore, OK ship but personally not a huge fan of farming from smoke the 3 sec reload penalty vs the Baltimore is noticeable and without torps in more than 1 game had high tier KM BBs/BCs just throw torps and charge the smoke!
The funny thing is if I was getting a T8 out of a supercontainer, I would hope to get the Rochester, so it was easy for me to choose. It has better smoke fire penalty than Auckland, which I find crazy considering how much damage the guns do.
I used my tokens to buy the rochester and got steel back cos I already had it, all the super containers (1500 steel +-8000 dubs +-100000 coal, blue boosters, 70 days premium time), and then blue booster packs, that captain for 10 points was too expensive, happy
@PotatoQuality as someone who has an incredible distain for getting up tiered, I sell every ship that’s not a T10 or premium so I only have about 100 ships in my port so getting Rochester is impossible if you also want to get the new special commander and I know a lot of other players do the same thing
i never sell my ships, i don't play 99% of them, i just have them in port for this event and Christmas time Santa crates. you are missing out on so many rewards/free stuff by not having a huge fleet.
The battle pass gives 4000 tokens, leaving you to grind 2250 from ships. That's maybe 10 battles at tier 10. This month. If you don't play often enough to get level 13 in the battle pass, no shame there. But don't go claiming it was impossible or that "a lot of other players" have the same problem.
I actually love using this ship in the Ops mode. that 76mm AA guns is potent and sky-clearer in one of the ops that requires you to escort a battleship "Ruan" to safety. Plus that AP shell packs a punch as well, it's a certified cruiser-blapper.
ive got 232 ships including those in the pass etc ill have around 15k tokens 60 containers for the captain is 12k and theres slim odds that would do it that seems very expensive 110 SC is 13750 tokens.. so tough choices to make , i do like this way of getting the tokens cleared, but the offerings seem quite poor compared to other years
i have about 150 ships, 40 of which are t10. it only took playing 18 of the t10's once each to complete all the rewards for every ship i owned. +1 WG this time
These festive tokens are for free, sure, but the Pan-American BB event, the Aquana-thingy event are all for money only, just like Theseus. And the free T8 part is only for people with lots of ships. Like lots. I am going for the Pan Am commander, but I still need lots of items to complete that side event and I am running out of ships for tokens. So I prolly need to pay for boxes to complete that event or go for coal boxes.
So just from the Battlepass you get 4000 festive tokens and there being 1000 in the daily log in, so Rochester being 6,250 if you want to get her, you need ~17 ships that reward 75 tokens or higher. So 17 tier 8/9/10 ships, ~25 ships that reward 50 tokens or higher, so T7/8/9/10. It's really not that bad. Most players who have been at the game for around a month or two can likely get their hands on Rochester.
But Rochester is just not worth it ! , better option for any player is just play every day for 2 coal crates in my experience you will get min 1000 coal per day = 365 coal per year , for that in 1 year you can get 2 T9 premium ships ! with -25% cupons = 342k , why that is better that Rochester ? , Rochester is worse that T8 Baltimore , so you can get T9 Kearsarge & Iwami place Yamamoto & Helsey on them and earn credits , so you can play Baltimore without any limitations !
@@Huzarionix ?? How is a T8 premium that you can get for free for minimal effort, that does have benefits over the tech tree ship, even remotely comparable to coal ships that you need to spend a fair bit of effort to get? You really lost me on that one. Like yeah sure, T9 premiums make more silver, what's your point? I do agree it's not worth the festive tokens for a veteran player, because the Pan-American commander is the best use for your festive tokens if you have enough ships, but for a newer player, a T8 premium is never a bad thing. Plus you're acting as though getting Rochester somehow stops you from getting coal ships? If anything it will HELP you get coal ships because of the Winter event, it'll likely give 750 coal just for knocking it's snowflake off. Also I don't want to be that guy but... Rochester isn't worse than Baltimore, they are different. They have different roles in battle. Baltimore is radar support with a bit of DPM, Rochester is consistent DPM with AA support. The smoke screen allowing Rochester to more consistently fire her guns, allowing for quite often higher damage games.
@@Stephen__White You should consider that we can choose to exchange other gifts besides Rochester....I choose to try to get the special commander instead of her. Depending on each person's needs, choose what they want, but I want to emphasize that consider carefully. Rochester is not a ship that will suit everyone and everyone will be happy to have it. A T8 Premium with a rather selfish playstyle, revolving around smokes but not possessing impressive dpm. Those who like to play high tier will find her quite bad (both in terms of performance and economic benefits). Those who like to play (Or only play) mid tier will find her extremely difficult when uptiered...
@@Airbone That is fair, I left my main comment mostly in reply to PQ basically stating he didn't know how easy it would be to get Rochester. Personally I suggest everyone at least invest towards the legendary commander if they have any interest at all in the new Pan-American BBs because if his containers cost as much coal as the other legendary commander containers... that's going to be a VERY expensive collection to do at a later date.(60 pieces at 6000 coal per container would be 360,000 coal if you got lucky and got zero duplicates, more realistically it'll be closer to 500,000 coal) Otherwise they should just invest into Super containers and eco boosters if Rochester doesn't appeal to them.
How would you get the ~2 400 000 free XP needed for 17 tier 8 ships in about a month? Started playing two months ago and including the ships you get for welcome doubloons and mid-dockyard event I have free xp to cover a single tier 8 ship after 120 hours. Two when you include ship XP-grind.
Orkan is amazing and with gunboat build it can gun down a lot of DDs at T8. Also amazing for Clan Battles. Personally I got the Rochester, but really not a big fun of it, seems like a handicapped Balti without radar.
Just recently started playing WoWs again to try out this event. Used my tokens to buy 66 supercontainers, but I didnt get any ship from them. Apparently they were nerfed RIP. At least I got some premium, coal, and steel that was nice.
they are at a 1 in 200 for a ship now. they nerfed all the rewards in the SCs but give us twice as many from the daily container drops, they used to be 1 SC for every 100, and now it only takes 50 to get the SC. but yeh, they nerfed the total rewards a bunch.
Glad people have something in this anniversary,I just get my "thank you for playing 9 years" rewards last night, bunch of boosters (50) each of second grade and x5 white perma cammos, pretty much worst than the actual anniversary event still I was already prepare for shitty rewards for playing 9 whole years so at least the anni get me lots of coal, dubs and a lot of boosters
Orkan best boat because you can try for the rarest achievement in game - Close Quarters Expert - in a DD... it has the single barrel of 100mm butterfly kisses. If you pull CQE in this boat, you beat the game and can uninstall it.
@@Joshua-fi4ji I was so close to getting one in my Haida playing ranked. Was just me on full health and a Z-39 (iirc?) on about 200. I was circling around it as they tried to deal with their poopy gun traverse. The secondary gun started a fire and the fire killed it. I had to turn the game off and go have a cup of tea.
On the topic of forever dockyards. Imo this would be better for the community and better for WG. I personally have never completed or paid for a dock yard since I don't play enough, but if they made then forever there's at least 3 I can think of that I would pay for.
When I played Baltimore on my way to DM I got in some t10 games at the beginning. If you can, shot yamatos and musashis. I did 8K salvos every 9 second on them, THEY MELT.
I have 200 ships and i was able to get enough tokens to get the Rochester, the skin for Benson and about 60 supercontainers, two of which dropped ships Warspite, and Gorizia
I got 7k Festive tokens at the moment after getting Rochester and I'm deciding whether to get SuperContainers or the South American captain containers. Knowing my luck, if I go for the SC's, I'm just gonna get shit drops. On the other hand, I've gotten 4 containers for the SA captain already between Battle Pass and Daily log-ins and on my 4th SA captain container, I got my first duplicate.
Personally, I've been spending the token to try and get the new captain, but on the topic of the dockyards, I really wish it was possibile to get those ship without having to pay in some manner much like they did, finally with the jager, though, I really want the Puerto Rico.
Anchorage's torps are only 10.5km. Yes, Anchorage may have an extra turret, but reloads 3.5s slower and uses New Orleans shells which means Rochester's AP hits harder than Anchorage. Also, Anchorage doesn't have a heal.
For some reason FenYang (ex Yoizuki aka Akizuki-class) is not on the list, but she's also available for the coupon Less dpm but better Ap with improved pen angles... and def AA (haha)
I already had Rochester so ignored the ship, spending the tokens on the collection boxes. I didn't realise you could instead get a selection from other tier 8 ships. I don't think I can get enough tokens to buy it now.
I just spend my tokens on getting the commander first, super containers after that as they are so so nowadays and i never win a ship anyways... The ship itself is more of a collector thing and i rather play other tier 8s instead.
I've spend it to SC instead of Rochester. Got Gascogne from it so might be better than spend chunks of tokens to Ro. Interestingly, I've got Strasbourg last year, so perhaps the French are liking me.
As a closed Beta tester in alpha: I have 675 ships. I had to buy all the containers for the new Captain. I got all 110 super containers. I got all the green boosters. I got 10 blue boosters. I got 3k steel instead of coupon because I had all the ships. ... You are very correct in this is by far the easiest grind of any anniversary/snowflake event. Took 5 days. .... My recommendation is Captain 1st. Super containers 2nd. Rochester 3rd, then green boosters.
@@famguy2101 a heavy accent is OK, but the people from mass-a-chu-chu-sits, leave out half the letters in a word and then add addition letter where they please. they really like to add R's to the end of words. florider, califroner....
People sleep on the French BB secondaries. Build them as secondary brawlers and youll have so much fun. Theyre not GK or Sliefs but still very very good for secondary builds.
I have about 80 ships and I was able to get it plus about 20 SC. But there is something to be said about what tier of ships people have. Most of mine are higher tier so I’d get more tokens than someone with 80 lower tier ships.
i have ca. 355 ships so i get 31500 tokens first i take that very good legendary commander than i take the Rochester for what is left i take Super Container!
In console/mobile we have the same problems, campaign ships not being available again. Honestly what they should do is not releasing an exclusive new ship on the end of the year on Christmas. All they could do is just give us a token on the premium campaign that would allow us to get one of those previous campaign ships.
Rochester is my primary non-line-grinding ship for personal reasons (I collect U.S.S. Rochester memorabilia.) Had it for a long time. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda sad that it's a reward ship. I actually preferred being one of the few players that I would ever see using it.
I've pulled 2 ships and 6k dubs out of SCs so far...lots of other stuff as well...with more ships left to do...I'll pass on the Rochester from a value standpoint...looks fun though
With 270+ ships I had enough Festive tokens to max out my Super Containers and pick up Rochester which I didn't have (last year I chose Wichita instead on a trade in program). Of the other ships I have Kidd, Bayard & Hampshire (free in a random container). I also have the Asian clone of Saipan. Kidd and Bayard are both LEGIT choices and among the better premiums in the game at their tier and type IMO. Hampshire is garbage. I see a lot of Irian and Le Terrible in tier 8 ranked matches game, can't say I see very much of the other choices. If I hadn't had Rochester I would have probably taken Gascogne since I like the French BBs. Grinding out all 270 odd ships in my port too about a week and would have taken less time if I was just running them in Ops or Co Op matches but I was grinding through Nagato in ranked to open up the IJN battlecruiser line so that slowed my Festive token acquisition down a little.
I bought super containers instead. Got a T7 Florida which I guess is okay plus some dubloons, boosters etc. Probably more useful to me than this ship. I should add that the SC ships come with a level 10 captain which is more useful than the level 3 that comes with the Rochester.
I only have a few ships in my port. I'm about 2K short of having enough tokens for the Rochester. I will get another 1,000 from the event, unless something happens soon. Not sure where I will come up with the rest. I keep getting a message saying I need to earn more experience to get more tokens from ships in my harbor, but I haven't seen that number change. I'm close to having two more researched, but I'd need 20,000,000 credits to buy them, and I have maybe 3,000,000....
In total for free tokens from the event you'll get 5000, 4000 from battlepass and 1000 from logging in every day. So as long as you had enough ships to get 1250 tokens on your own you can get Rochester.
Also, the Festive tokens will be around for the rest of the patch, so.... about the next 4 weeks. So you can use that time to grind out a few more ships to get Festive tokens.
Unfortunately just a worse Anchorage because of lack of range and torpedoes. And the salvo weight of Anchorage is very useful, along with having better shell drag. But its fine for tier 8
Took the Rochester.. I didn't have a T8 premium cruiser. In the few games I tried to play it as light cruiser. Credit earner.. I could be better. As captain trainer.. just fine.
2.0 sigma and british HE isn’t that impressive considered the tier 6 tech tree Queen Elizabeth have the same HE with 2.0 sigma. Also no reason to buy Vanguard because buffed Mornach with superheal is just superior. I would prefer good concealment, one extra gun barrel, and superheal than the ability to turn slightly faster than average
@@faynk.6247 the reasoning being a good training ship for British line, my Goliath cap and Vincent captain are from vanguard. And I’m not sure why u putting monarch into this comparison since it’s all premium ships we are comparing here. Vanguard it’s still decently conceal, and that cruiser rudder shift makes me tank 2mil potential quite often, so I usually have one more heal late game.
@j_taylor I found the guns to be very inconsistent. Tried AP, not great pen, thought the HE with 40% fire chance might work better, nope. The radar is nice, that's about it.
Well i‘ve gotten my self the Rochester cuz why wouldn’t u pick up a "free" premium? Turns out i liked the ship and played a couple of matches an i got a t10 matchmaker so yeah, but in the end i was first place in the team with like 2.4k base xp. The rest of my tokens i spent on like 40 sup containers and got a t6 dd (cant remember which one rn) and the t10 Hayate.
Yea I think the 100 super containers is probably more worthwhile i got enough steel to get my steel ship enough dubs to get a t6 with gold leftover probably a thousand flags few hundred boosters 50 days of premium and loads of crap like commander xp
Rochester might be a decent boat, but in this case you have to weigh it against 50 super containers (and what that can possibly give you) I don't know if Rochester is a good choice in this case
I'm like 300 short. Im about to get the Leipzig and I'll get the Ipiranga from the battle pass. Still 150 short. I got everything easy. I don't think I'm going to make it...
Any new T5-T11 you pick up will have Festive tokens. Have any spare Coal sitting around, buy a ship. Sitting on a wad of Free exp, use it to finish grinding a ship up to the next tier.
@@j_taylor na seeing the cleveland get devstuck and the lighthouse build just made me want to ask. But i have had that thing when the comments section on a video being the last video i was watching.

Except Strasbourg ain't much of a prize. It's a rather poor T7 and down right miserable one when you get double uptiered, IMO.
A good solution would be tier 8 cruisers getting heals when they get uptiered and not getting them when fighting in their own tiers or lower.
Or mabe you keep the heals, but they get a reload buff if you're shot at from higher tier ships? Something kinda like AR but for consumeables? Would be nice i think
Good idea but execution-wise it is understandable that wargaming is unlikely to dig into the core game code to implement a check for this.
Every cruiser above T5 should get one
Or not get neither up or down tiered at all
Heh, at this point, implementing that probably would case the game to self divide by zero, cause mass extinction and nuclear fallout.
Given how spaghetti we’ve seen the bugs in the game are, I wouldn’t discount it.
I love the way you glaze over the carrier XD
Well... on top of being a CV (he never plays the things), it's a really shit CV.
I agree i really liked the way WG did getting the rewards off of your ships this time hope they do it this way again during christmas.
i really like the new reward system for getting your bonus rewards on ships. i just played t-7 ranked and got mine (430 t-5+ ships) done in a few days. i asked in chat during last week's twitch stream if it would be the same for the snowflakes and the person moderating answered and said, "it might be, but i don't know if i like it yet and decisions were still being made". i sure hope it stays, it takes so much stress off of grinding through so many ships i never play and don't have set up at all.
6000 isn't enough to get the commander tho which is frustrating

Bring back all ships and balance them correctly!!
HA! i know, im dreaming.
Have 3 premium CA tier 8 so spend on SC, and have 2 t7 ships, 4-5k dubl, 3 months prem time, and coal on t10 ship with coupon!)))
I think Fantasque is also a good pick. Great T8 Destroyer that can also compete in Uptiers and is good for ranked/Clan Battles
I believe you mean the terrible? Yes it’s a very strong t8 DD. It can fight every ship type except the cancers (Just Dodge). Good AP, Good HE, Very Zoom Zoom, French saturation, good torps. Very nice.
The pan american commander is expensive to get the 60 pieces requiring 3 duplicates to get a missing piece.
With all my ships in port I managed to get the Rochester pretty easily plus 105 super containers from which I got a couple of half decent Tier 7s and 4000 doubloons. I've already got the Anchorage which I don't really like and don't play very often but I'm quite enjoying the Rochester.
I went for 100 super containers - got a Neuvo Julio, 3000 dubs, 28 days of premium, and a butt load of boosters, free xp, coal, and signals.
Rip on Neuvo... Its just a boise copy pasta.
@@FrostBeam009it has a super heal which is interesting at least
I did the same, and am very happy with the results
Got one from a super container 2 years ago and it's one of my favourite ships for t8 ranked
Also 2nd best AA at t8 so can be kinda fun to play aggressive in double cv games, one of the few ships I trust to actually shoot planes down
Ship request : S.Thunder, considering theres the bundle for it in the armoury. (I got it for 1500 dubs :D )
Ship request: Baltimore which is T8 Des Moines. We're using it mostly in Clan Battles.
might be a bit late, but when the event started i was deciding whether should i go for this ship, or as many super container as possible.
my decision was to go for as many super container as possible to stock up on bonuses, flags and resources, which will help me way more in the long run than this ship.
going back, i do not regret my decision. so far i got 50ish super containers.
regarding the size of my fleet, I would put it at a medium size.
I used my tokens to buy the rochester and got steel back cos I already had it, all the super containers (1500 steel +-8000 dubs +-100000 coal, blue boosters, 70 days premium time), and then blue booster packs, that captain for 10 points was too expensive, happy
i finished all mine in one day ... over 160 ships got the roochester bug too :D
+1 WG this time
it really helps remove a lot of stress over having to play a bunch of ships you never really play. feels nice to have this.
Yes, this is a really comfortable grind. I've been playing operations, having fun, and watching the rewards just pile up.
You do get 5k tokens from the BP and daily rewards so only need 1250 for the Rochester / coupon.
Got myselft the Rochester and in one of the like 30 SCs i got for the rest, in one was the Kii.
My now 29th and 30th Premiumship as a f2p Player
@@Stephen__White
You should consider that we can choose to exchange other gifts besides Rochester....I choose to try to get the special commander instead of her.
I already had rochester so i picked up Borodino instead. One of the best tier 8 BB’s i have played.
Glad people have something in this anniversary,I just get my "thank you for playing 9 years" rewards last night,
bunch of boosters (50) each of second grade and x5 white perma cammos, pretty much worst than the actual anniversary event still I was already prepare for shitty rewards for playing 9 whole years so at least the anni get me lots of coal, dubs and a lot of boosters
Orkan best boat because you can try for the rarest achievement in game - Close Quarters Expert - in a DD... it has the single barrel of 100mm butterfly kisses. If you pull CQE in this boat, you beat the game and can uninstall it.
How about Kiev?
I got QCE & Double strike with his secondary gun....
Mizzerys_Fate, N/A if you doubt me...
Haida is the best for that.
I believe Huron has a secondary if I'm not mistaken.
On the topic of forever dockyards. Imo this would be better for the community and better for WG. I personally have never completed or paid for a dock yard since I don't play enough, but if they made then forever there's at least 3 I can think of that I would pay for.
I just played it, first game loss 101k dmg. Honestly pretty fun and well-rounded cruiser
I pulled all the supers, got this and a Cheshire in the last two containers!
The secondaries look so big I kinda want to make a hybrid secondary build on it.
When I played Baltimore on my way to DM I got in some t10 games at the beginning. If you can, shot yamatos and musashis. I did 8K salvos every 9 second on them, THEY MELT.
I was stuck between 50 super container or this. Got this because, a guaranteed ship.
Heard a lot of people getting supper cont and not getting any ships
I took the chances and opened like 50 super containers and actually got a Siroco and an Irian, so pretty lucky I guess xD
I invested all of mine into SCs to get some resources instead of Rochester.
Guy in our clan got the Rochester, then got a couple more ships in the containers.
I might end up with enough tokens to get the Rochester ...
"One premium cruiser in the hand is worth 100 super containers in the bush."
I got Anchorage from the Santa containers last year
Personally, I've been spending the token to try and get the new captain, but on the topic of the dockyards, I really wish it was possibile to get those ship without having to pay in some manner much like they did, finally with the jager, though, I really want the Puerto Rico.
Saipan is a carrier xD omg just for that thing upvote for this vid
Please do not forget the 10 km torpedoes the Anchorage has. Also, the Achorage has ONE extra turret (+ 3 guns).
Anchorage's torps are only 10.5km. Yes, Anchorage may have an extra turret, but reloads 3.5s slower and uses New Orleans shells which means Rochester's AP hits harder than Anchorage. Also, Anchorage doesn't have a heal.
What kind of Anchorage are you playing ? She doesn’t have a heal and her torps is only 10.5 km
Spend the tokens on the special commander for Pan America is probably the best option,
This ship needs either a lillac, or a garbage plate themed camo
For some reason FenYang (ex Yoizuki aka Akizuki-class) is not on the list, but she's also available for the coupon
Less dpm but better Ap with improved pen angles... and def AA (haha)
I used all my tokens for supper containers got t10 smaland and a t7 independence cruiser.
I only have 80 ships in port and got enough tokens for this ship plus extra pretty easily.
I've spend it to SC instead of Rochester. Got Gascogne from it so might be better than spend chunks of tokens to Ro. Interestingly, I've got Strasbourg last year, so perhaps the French are liking me.
As a closed Beta tester in alpha:
I have 675 ships.
Rochester 3rd, then green boosters.
you keep all the tech tree ships of every tier? jeez
Is curious, Rochester is pronounced exactly the way i would think, and then on the other side of the spectrum, is Worcester
Rah-Chester
We have fairly nasally accents for western NY
@@famguy2101 a heavy accent is OK, but the people from mass-a-chu-chu-sits, leave out half the letters in a word and then add addition letter where they please. they really like to add R's to the end of words. florider, califroner....
Yup, and yes Worcester is pronounced the English way ("Wooster" with the same oo as in book, or just Wuster for those who confuse with Ohio.)
People sleep on the French BB secondaries. Build them as secondary brawlers and youll have so much fun. Theyre not GK or Sliefs but still very very good for secondary builds.
They don’t pen enough
I have about 80 ships and I was able to get it plus about 20 SC. But there is something to be said about what tier of ships people have. Most of mine are higher tier so I’d get more tokens than someone with 80 lower tier ships.
80 T5s is 2000 tokens, you only need to get 1250 tokens to go with the free tokens to get Rochester so it's very doable for just about everyone.
I am just going full steam for premium containers, already got the Missouri, and wishing for Smaland....
You said if we have a lot of ships and since I have only 14...I can s!Yk it 😂😂😂
Rochester is my primary non-line-grinding ship for personal reasons (I collect U.S.S. Rochester memorabilia.) Had it for a long time. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda sad that it's a reward ship. I actually preferred being one of the few players that I would ever see using it.
Ship Request: Lightning - slept on T8 tech tree destroyer
I got enough tokens for the ship in about 3 hours last Sunday. It wasn't too hard. Been playing since open beta also with 480 ships.
Already had this ship
I went for the containers and got USS Enterprise... Should've gone for the Rochester lol
Is it like a tier 8 moskva?
I did barely get enough to get the Rochester.
It's a decent ship, does okay for/as a premium. I am happy with what I got for my efforts.
As captain trainer.. just fine.
my first game in the Rochester got me 6 kills.....
Can you do a HD2 video?
Which cross hairs are you using?
its a great ship for free!!
Three things abt vanguard: 2.0 sigma, very absurd rudder shifts help u to dodge, still very decent British HE
2.0 sigma and british HE isn’t that impressive considered the tier 6 tech tree Queen Elizabeth have the same HE with 2.0 sigma.
I got the Rochester using my reward tokens, but still got a 100% off coupon for a tier 8 premium. Unfortunately I used it on the Bordino 😢
Borodino is an interesting shop. I don't have it, but I've had the bad luck to meet it in battle. The guns + radar can end someone's game quick.
@j_taylor I found the guns to be very inconsistent. Tried AP, not great pen, thought the HE with 40% fire chance might work better, nope. The radar is nice, that's about it.
I agree T8 cruisers need a heal, maybe a bit weaker than T9/10 but anyway.
Hi PotatoQuality can i Request Play comparing Republique and Gascogne in the next your project, Thanks
Yea I think the 100 super containers is probably more worthwhile i got enough steel to get my steel ship enough dubs to get a t6 with gold leftover probably a thousand flags few hundred boosters 50 days of premium and loads of crap like commander xp
Siliwangi, is siliwangi. it is certainly a ship of all time.
Can't argue with that!
It lacks of gun reload
Unfortunately you kind of have to choose between the Captain and the Rochester or risk missing out on both
Rochester might be a decent boat, but in this case you have to weigh it against 50 super containers (and what that can possibly give you)
I don't know if Rochester is a good choice in this case
I’m 100 super containers in. Not a single ship. Just flags and booster, just get the ship and forget the gambling
here's a comment for the algorithm
I'm like 300 short. Im about to get the Leipzig and I'll get the Ipiranga from the battle pass. Still 150 short. I got everything easy. I don't think I'm going to make it...
Any new T5-T11 you pick up will have Festive tokens. Have any spare Coal sitting around, buy a ship. Sitting on a wad of Free exp, use it to finish grinding a ship up to the next tier.
"Upcharge a little bit" Do they understand that meaning?
Cleveland lighthouse build when ?
This video is about the Rochester and other rewards from the anniversary. Maybe you meant to comment on a different video.
@@j_taylor na seeing the cleveland get devstuck and the lighthouse build just made me want to ask. But i have had that thing when the comments section on a video being the last video i was watching.
Smoke or radar, that's the question.
WG don´t sell Festive Tokens? I need 1,000 to get Rochester =(
