    This professor is amazing! She just explained something very complex in a very simple way. This is the best breathing lesson on you tube. Most singer's or people who aim at becoming great speakers ignore how essential breathing is. But breathing for voice it is an every day life long on going excercise.

      Yes breath support and breath control is essential for singing and playing instruments. Mastery of breathing correctly for every phrase is very difficult. I'm glad she explained it well.

    Our voice is a powerful thing, one of the greatest gifts we've received. Thanks for describing the mechanics of how sound is produced. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Lights (ultimately). The best gift ever given to man kind is the Living Word Which became flesh and died so that we might have everlasting life. When every other voice is hushed, and in quietness we wait before Him, the silence of the soul makes more distinct the voice of Him Who loves us like nobody else. Not only will He give volume to your voice, but also power that draws humanity heavenward. Blessings

    I think there's more to it than that, whenever I have a cold my voice becomes very deep and booming without doing anything different. I really like it and I wish that was my regular voice.

    • @davidhawley1132
      @davidhawley1132 6 років тому +6

      Tony32 It may be to do with a relaxed throat, low larynx and relaxed cords, or also maybe swollen cords that vibrate slower because of increased mass. I used to be able to speak and sing lower when I got up in the morning than later in the day, but voice training has allowed me to maintain that ability throughout the day. Basically relaxing the throat and better ability to close the vocal cords.

    • @Tony32
      @Tony32 6 років тому +3

      Yes, I forgot to mention my voice is deeper in the morning. Thanks.

    • @saber-jocky3436
      @saber-jocky3436 4 роки тому +2

      More likely that you tend to let your voice come out through your nose and sinus cavity. When you have a cold, that can't happen because of the excess sinus drainage. You are more likely to have sinus build up in the nasal cavity in the morning as well. This would also affect how you hear your own voice. You might think it is lower and boomier. That doesn't mean it necessarily is. How we hear ourselves is very different from how we actually sound to others because of the internal vibration that adds to our perception of our own voices.

    I'm not sure if this is actually true.
    More air actually just helps with milage of speech. Less air or perhaps just enough air might create a voice that can travel better (combine it with some nasality if you really want to cut across spaces vocally), as oppose to more air which might create an unclear and airy sound which would not carry very well across the room.
