Get rid of stage fright in 20 seconds *6 minutes later
Fr 😂😂
i have a terrible stage fright when i go to stage i forget every thing, i really do not know how to solve it.
Hi Yousuf,
Your situation is not a one-technique-solving-it stage fright. It takes consistent practice with a step-by-step systematic solution. The starting point is to shift your focus. Instead of thinking about the fear or even the possibility of forgetting every thing, think about what your key message is that you want the audience to take away with; following this key message, what are the major 3 points? Shifting your focus, getting a clear structure and some physical exercise like mentioned in this video, are the 3 starting points. All the best!
omg me too it's horrible
cynthia zhai hi this is Abud Atiyyat I kinda need some help with a lot of things but I can't focus and I'm scared every time so Idk what to do and I can't stop it either
Yousuf Zada yea😂😂ikr me2 btw kinda awkward coz ur comments was 3 years ago 😂😂
when i do my presentation my voice will get slower and when ppl point it out that they cant hear me, i get panic and i lose confidence. im so tired of being nervous and shaking like crazy, i really want to overcome this
do kyungsoo same problem im facing of
Same here . i speak fast and usually get blank because of the fear or nervousness. I have completed my 4 years of bachelors and doing masters but stage fright is still the same. I have too many presentations ahead of me but I don't know how am I gonna give them all :(
Scream at the top of your lungs, lol, jk
Me too
I get stage fright in a mostly physical sense. I don't sit there thinking, "What if I screw up? What if I get booed off stage?" A few hours before performing, I just get this physical surge of anxiety. I shake, I get antsy, my stomach gets upset....but my mind is clear. This seems to be instinctual not related to thoughts or focus. Any suggestions? Am I thinking, "OMG I WILL DIE!" and just not realizing it?
+Katie Smith The anxiety you are feeling is nothing more then energy. It just there to remind you that you are present and about to experience something outside your comfort zone, which is amazing because when you step outside your comfort zone it means you are growing. The most helpful thing I can say is use your clear mindset to tell yourself you can do this performance or speech. Do not try to get rid of those bodily feelings, just notice them and then focus back on yourself reminding yourself you know the information and you will perform your speech or performance well. hope that helps.
+Adrienne the minimalist Thanks for the advice!
You are describing ANXIETY but you can mentally SWITCH it to EXCITEMENT just based on how you DECIDE to think about it. I wrote a book and cd program that helps people with this issue BIG TIME. Teh video you just watched just scratches the surface. If you have any questions just look at my videos on stage fright or email me
I get this too
Katie Smith me too
Here is one of the most horrible regrets of my stage frightI was so exited putting on makeup and hanging with my friends before our play in the dressing room. I had one of the most important parts of the play. When it was finally my turn to sing my solo for the play I was really nervous. I was doing great until.....I CHOCKED. I was so mad at myself for messing up the song. I was waiting for that play and it was all I talked about. And then I chocked. But something really weird happened...... I actually rocked the rest of the song. I don't know why that happened. I guess it was the feeling that I messed up and I couldn't mess up again. Luckily, I have another play just around the corner and this time, I made sure I did research on stage fright. I really am counting on this trick to get me through the play because I couldn't find anything else on the web. Wish me luck! : )
I remember one time. My voice just cracked. I walked off back stage and cleared my throat and walked out there again. I did everything perfect the second time. I think I had about the same thought as you did. "I already messed up, so now I can't do more wrong."
I can present in groups but when I'm alone, I can't breathe and I shake a lot
kolas ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ right
Same
Sameeee my throat tightens so much I can’t breathe so I fall on the floor and just die-
I have to perform in front of over 1,000 people for my dance class and I had a anxiety attack today cause I had to perform thank you for this video
Do the exercises like Cynthia says. Do the presentations and keep doing them. Don't put it off. The more mistakes you make, the better you will get next time!
I've had stage fright for years I work with children and even doing circle time makes me nervous so I'm going to practice this technique when I am at work tomorrow. So far breathing exercises have helped a bit. Thank you
Hello.. At school I always lose points because I refuse to do a presentation 😓.. My legs shake and I become tense. My mouth stops moving and I lose control. My face gets red and I start mumbling. Please help 😢
If I was you, I would talk to my teacher and tell them how I feel about talking to the class, and he/she should understand and you two could maybe work something out so you can still get all the points.
Melvin Luna
You have to deal with it. Sorry. Everyone does!
Amy Bacila
Your teacher can't just give you a free pass because you don't want to or whatever.
hahaha true shit though everyone has to deal with it, you can't p*** out we all feel like shit, nut you still have to do the presentation
same... i also vomitted
You are really smart. I really like your energy and the way you explain things. It never made sense how everyone always says prepare, prepare and prepare. They clearly don't understand how bad stage fright can get even a few days before the actual performance.
Another tip is to do box counting (breathe in for four, hold for four, breath out for four, hold for four, etc) if you don't wanna make it obvious that your tensing up. 😁 that might help
Thank you so much for making this video! You saved my entire band with your tips!
Thank you for this video. I havnt tried it yet but i really need to get rid of my stage fright. Thanks again so much
All the best! Let me know how it goes.
preach.............same
I do not suffer from stage fright at all but I found myself here and I loved this video! As a former athlete (collegiate wrestling), FOCUS is absolutely the key to keeping one’s mind solely on only the task at hand and, parallel to that, keeping negative thoughts locked out.)
Thank You for helping so many people who do suffer from performance anxiety, you are extremely well spoken, very professional in your presentation, and a very kind and giving person.
Thank you John! I was also an athlete, of track and field. ;-)
I wish I were you 😭😭
It is so kind of you and your team to put out such helpful information. Due to trauma, stress, and illness I’ve been away from the stage for years and am just now strong enough to face down my last and largest dragon, stage fright. It has sabotaged so many opportunities, mostly before they ever have a chance to happen because of the fear of it happening. The fear of fear is a powerful thing and it you just gave me a huge boost in my fight against it…or rather my welcoming of it…I’m super grateful, and I’m so excited for my next opportunity to be a good testimonial, I’ll be practicing!
I'm glad it helped you Jim! Thank you for sharing your story. Keep it up!
Thank you so much for this video Cynthia, have a dream job interview tomorrow and have been anxious for a few days now. Doing this exercise called me all the way down.
That’s great to hear. Keep it up!
I don't mess up when I have stage fright. I want to get over stage fright though because I'm tired of feeling it everytime I go to perform. This really helped me! thanks a ton!
Thanks a lot Cynthia, this exercise is actually effective. Yesterday I had a presentation for my upcoming project. I have a good idea which is actually convincing but the problem could be my nervous way of presenting it. I tried to shift my focus and performed the exercise just before entering in the room, I got myself back into the practical situation rather than just thinking about what will happen if they caught I'm nervous :). And yes, along with the exercise, few times of stage experience will surely make anyone like me a decent stage speaker. Thanks again.
I really like what you had to say. My perception of what you said is to refuse to focus on the anxiety, but when I get horrible physical symptoms the night before, it's practically impossible.
The only thing that seems to work is when I tell myself that I'm cancelling or I'm not going to sing but that only works for rehearsals. I think if I don't get any sleep that I will do a terrible job and then I imagine the rejection and failure being able to kill me. Yes, it's childish, but that is what I go through
Thanks! This helped me even do musical performance! It works with everything :)
Hi Manolis,
Glad it has helped you!
Very good, simple technique. I encourage anyone who need to refocus away from their fear this is the place to start.
I have a presentation to do tomorrow in my class, I have the worst stage fright in my class, mostly because I'm no really friends with most of them, and it takes me like 2 minutes before I finally speak -_-
Yeah me too...I just feel awkward like someone will judge me...
ikr
+Bʊɮɮa tɛa Pʀɨռċɛss hey did it yelp?
+DaniLovesYou this video kinda helped, but i just took deep breathes and spoke, i remembered basically everyone in my class was scared to do it so i wasnt the only one who was worried to speak in from of 20 ppl.
I'm happy I've stumbled upon this video. My best friend and I are audition for a solo song for a school concert tomorrow and we are both nervous. I will tell her about this.
Everytime I got stage fright I would have a panic attack and just go off the stage telling my teacher I will do it again later if there is few people. After I got off stage I would cry my heart out. Because everytime I am on the stage people judge me makibg me think negatively about myself that I forgot the thing I was about to present
I performed today. It totally helped me.
Is it just me, or your voice really sound something like an auto programmed voice. And it's just so satisfying to hear. 😁
Whenever I have to even speak in front of my class my face turns red. Like really red
I've heard it from enough audiences to realize almost no one notices, but for me it's shakiness and loss of fine motor control. As an instrumentalist/vocalist type this can be the cause of a shaky start sometimes. I usually overcome it by starting off with a few fast paced, high-energy tunes to get me settled in and work with the shakes while I work them out.
Hi I am a very shy girl whenever I do presentations my legs shake and my face turns really red and I choke on my words and I also LOVE to sing I've always dream of singing in front of my school and anywhere because I want them to know the real me like what I really like to do but I'm too shy to let the inside of me become the outside of me please help me and when I sing in my living room I sing really loud and then my parents come in and I stop singing them my parents say why I stopped singing and I say because I'm too shy please answer me!!!!!! I really need your help
I am the EXACT same:) we should be sisters✨😊😂
Reyna Zamora me too!
me too...my voice get's shaky n begin to tremble with fear even before my family n friends, but I sing very well alone n infront of strangers

Hi cynthia, just watched ur video on getting rid of nervousness.
Thank you.
Im learning to sing and going to music school.
I love to sing but worrie about my voice what i sound like And what people
think i sound. Ive get told a im a gud singer and people sometimes shake my
hand and say that was amazing. All get a big clap. The thing is im going on
britans got talent.
Reall REALLY nervious. Like i think im going to make a fool out me and
ethir get told im carnt sing. I love to sing i sing everyday. But i sound
differant to everybody else. I record myself singing songs. I allway
critise myself make really bad..
My mum has been really supportive and my wife and freinds. I send them all
the songs i make.. they really lovw it.. i recorded big world say somthing
im giving up on you.. sent it to my freind he fell asleep listening to it..

I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks
U will be fine, even ADELE gets nervous... So it is not going to hold u back don't worry❤️
Cynthia this is wonderful, thank you!
Lianna Faber my tip is just to "Shake it out". Do the dance and have fun and relax. Goof around with it. Before you go on stage do a short version of the dance. And remember to relax your body (Loose limbs)
I am going to perform a dance today at school
thanks for the help!
Thursday is my school talent show I made it in and I'm so scared but I did it before it's just been a while so I needed some advice thank you so so much 😭😩
Thank you I almost lost my mind today... I hope my Wednesday performance works out fantastic
Hi this all sounds very logical the only problem is i usualy get stage fright during the performance and doing this exercise with hundreds of people already watching me would look very unusual. Is there a less obvious way to shift focus so that people dont see me tense up while im trying to shift focus?
Hi I'm emmah I have stage fright like you've never seen three woman's were trying to get me up on a empty stage I froze I didn't move 😲it feels good to let it out
I'll Try... thanks you x
Thanks, i think this will help for me, i am an Auditor so naturally i cant escape from presentations and for a long time i was wishing i had just gone into Veterinary, where i could have been just attending to animals
Thank you for taking your time to let me know! That's what keeps me recording new videos for you guys!
I'm still scared
Excellent exercise Cynthia
Make sure you apply it! 😉

Hi Arun, I'm glad it has helped you!
I suffer fr.stage fright. Whta you said about being prepared it's true it's fundamental even in job interview
When I go to an interview I always be scared and don't know how to stop be fright in a interview and same as stage fright as well I want to sign up for AGT but I feel everyone will laugh at me when I do something because I always like to have someone right next to me to tell if they can help me with my stage fright but I don't cry but I get scared and nervous when people look at me like I got something wrong
Ms Zhai, excellent suggestion! I put this to good use!
I hope this work I got a recital on Thursday
I just think that what if the people around me thinks Im just no good enough, my jaw starts shaking, and i forget what i was saying, and im having trouble breathing and my palms are getting sweaty

i have a speech in front of my entire school tomorrow and im freaked that imma screw it up but this rly helped
Hi your video was amazing and help , I m having stage fear, and to explain in class I become nervous, I sweat, and also shaking can u give me some advices!!
That use to happen to me and a lot of my friends too. Untill I started thinking through a lot of my fears and worries like I would say, "what if I forget a line" or something, so I would think it through and say "well then I will forget and life will move on I will just move on to the next line." After doing this I found there is nothing that can happen to me on stage that could ruin my life forever. Check out my channel and my video, "How I never get stage fright" I list all the exercises I do that have helped me destroy my own stage fright! I wish you the best of luck!!❤️
Here's some good advice. Imagine that someone your jealous of or are enemies with could do better than you. Then you'll feel mad and want to be better then them. And to be better then them you must be better then yourself. Simple.
So many things i did. But the fear is not going from me. my hands are shivering
Thank you
You're welcome!
Thanks so much! I have a dance concert in front of my school your very prepared in this video, by the way your very pretty thanks again! ,Madison 💖

DANCE EXAMS AND I KEEP SCREWING UP. i memorized all the steps and i was so confident in practice yet, on stage, i just get so stiff that even my partner worries, im so tense infront of people 😭😭😭
When i get stage fright my voice shakes and i start crying , i uncontrolably laugh and my heart beats , i forget everything and my stomach gets like butterflies not good ones though
I hate everyone in my school, they make me more nervous to present than ever. I believe this is because, last year, I stayed in one room all year, with the same kids. As of this year, I switch rooms, and teachers each hour. I have developed SERIOUS anxiety in middle school. It is terrible. I begin to cry when a teacher even mentions presenting. I don’t know why. I really need help. I have to preform Shakespeare in front of a class of 30 kids. It’s with a group, but I’m still nervous. I could really use some advice or tips. I think I’ll have to get a note from my parents to the school asking for the teachers to not force me to present as I have anxiety. I really hope my parents agree to this idea, I doubt they will, as they think my fear is irrational, but it isn’t to me. ∩^~^∩
Thank you madam i get something new here.
thanks for the video. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😝😝😝😝😝
Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you Ms. Zhai.
For some reason when I talk in front of a lot of people I run out of breath and my voice shivers. I sound like I am going to cry even though I'm not. Can anyone relate? Pls help
That's the result of the nervousness. It happened to some of my students. You'll need to learn proper voice projection. You can start with my Free 3-part video lessons here: bit.ly/voicecrashcourse
thank you now i can be a actor
You see I have no problem talking to people. But talking to people on things were I have to wing it scares the hell outta me like in school.
