Yeah I'm not sure about that tbh. Gonna go against the crowd here and say I think it's either your mistake Rory, or a racing incident at best. The golden rule of re-joining is to cede the racing line above all else, so that other drivers aren't punished by your mistake.
Those corners are consecutive and he is already committing to the racing line through that sequence whilst you were still on the grass. Letting off or going wide to accommodate your re-join will compromise his speed for the next 20 seconds.
If your re-join wasn't on the racing line and he hit you then 100% it's his mistake. But you lost a lot of acceleration by being on the grass for 3 seconds, and 2 second later you are on the apex of the next corner, going 15mph slower than him, and compromising his pace as a result.
Then out of principle he cuts his nose off to spite his face. After that, he turned into a total douchebag (probably because he thinks you should have let him pass) and there's no defending him.

Rory rejoined at 7:42, the other guy meets(bumps into) Rory at 7:46... yes Rory was a little slower than the other guy but the other guy i suppose he also has eyeballs and a brain to understand what he was going for was not going to happen. Welcome to my world Rory.this is exactly why i struggle to get my DR/SR up .best i've got up to so far is B / S then i have a few races with idiots in that aint there to race just smash people off the track and it drops right down again.i think what the game needs is people being ghosted when they deliberately turn into you or try to ram you..
Yeah I went from B back to D after a few hrs of racing and getting bumper carred off the track in every race. I feel your pain!!

Im in the same boat. I'm always in the top 5 at least for quali lap then first or second corner of race get bounced off track get demoted to rank C then win every race by at least 10 seconds

The first thing I heard in my mind was "how's your re-join sir" but yeah his retaliation was over the top and slightly comical.
rejoin was fine, driver behind has to anticipate the slow car at the apex. Rory was ahead and therefore has priority. Just because someone goes off the track doesnt mean the cars on track can expect them to have to give way. there has to be give and take in these situations.

Just a racing incident where the trailing driver took a risk with the car that didnt work out for him. Always watch for crashing cars ahead and be prepared to react.

That retaliation was absolutely unwarranted. I don't think they, the punters, realize how dirty they are. They take complete exception to every perceived slight and retaliate brutally at the first opportunity. This is very unsporting behavior. People need to chill out and stop making themselves judge, jury and executioner. Unless the move that harmed them was obviously and completely dirty, and even then, retaliating just brings the whole state of play down for everyone. I'm no role model, surely, and I lose my ish sometimes, too. But we should all try a little harder to work together with each other and stop just performing a NFS Takedown every time we get bumped.
If you think about it the only thing Rory did was go wide into the grass

Your re-join wasn't as bad as I thought it would be from his point of view. He left no space. I'd have given you a wide berth. The re-join could have been been better, but not 100% your fault. What happened after was a bit comical, what a loser.

Hey!! Got destroyed in a few races last week. Quit a couple as my lag was annoying me/distracting for others. Ended up a C-S, which is basically demolition Derby. Be a few races back to B DR. Race standard has definitely dipped
At this point you should just stick with ACC exclusively. With your skill level you shouldn’t be dealing with these arcade competitors

Hi Rory, sorry for the unrelated question but I would appreciate some real world advice. I bought a Prime Lite recently and it is sitting in my garage awaiting a seat. I wanted the RS12 black fabric seat (like my current Playseat) and I have been waiting for quite a while for new stock to come in. GTO seem unable to give me any indication of when they will get stock back in.
I believe that you use the XL RS seat, which they do currently have in stock. I understand that it is made of PVC. This put me off because my room is warm and hot in summer, and I was worried about the seat becoming uncomfortable and sweaty when racing for long periods.
How do you find your seat over long periods and would you buy the XL RS again, or would you opt for the cloth seat.

I'm glad to see it doesn't just happen to me. I did this race 5 times so far, and managed one third place, but the other races were just ridiculous. People seem to forget that you actually have to use the brakes, and try not to punt other people off.

I've gone back to GT Sport. It looks like all the kids got GT7 for Christmas and have finally got to the point where they can enter daily races. GT Sport seems a lot more civilised now
Totally agree. It’s much cleaner than GT7. Only problem is sometimes the lobbies are full, other times not so much.
As others have said, I've struggled with this but I'm not a great driver - I'm old and slow - and thoight it was a lower ranking thing. I've struggled to get out of the D class and first race in C was like a demolition derby. A few more races and I'll be back in D. It's gutting as all I wnt to do is try and race and try to get better.
Exactly my point.i use a controller and auto gears but i am still pretty good as i have played many hours on Gt7 but races are constantly ruined by mindless idiots that are clearly not there to race.sad as it seems i have written down all the ones that cheat so i know who to avoid.although some are easy to remember because its all they do to win.

Its on the operator to pass cleanly as possible. You did rejoin into the race line, yes it was a tricky high speed swooping section that makes rejoining difficult. Whos to blame for this contact, idk? His retaliation was a silly thing to do tho.
Question just dragged back to B I have a S safety rating . Why do I need to get through the B drivers with a bad SR before being with safe drivers ? Surely the dodgy SR drivers should be in their own servers?
They sorta are.... I believe lobbies go first by DR then by SR, or maybe the other way round, point is there are SR rated lower lobbies.... a few bad driving SR hits and you will be there quick... keep it dirty and stay in em, clean it up and get right back to top SR lobbies again...
Happens every once in a while, PD put up some stupid race with SR hits and people start getting put in the "bad boy" lobbies.... try and stay clean and this won't be an issue.... like don't be this guy and retaliate.... lol 😂

I just feel it puts people off but I guess that's the nature of any multi player people just love to win at any cost even if they emulate Kimi Velocini whom has gained star status and got away with it.😁
Don't expect drivers with better SR rating to be fair. Often times they are just advanced dirty drivers who hit your rear from the side and turn you into a wall. SR rating is only affected by penalties and decreases even if you were pushed into a wall by another driver and get an additional 5 sec penalty...

Unsafe rejoin onto the racing line
I wouldn’t say that this is the state of Gran Turismo multiplayer. I will say this is the state of this dude’s unhinged mental health.
Not the best of re-joins due to drop in speed and racing line obstruction but, those things happen from time to time. Perfect races are scarce. Retataliation from opponent unacceptable.

The amount of folk sending it from miles back in gt7 is torture. There's no reason for them to worry, oh got some damage that magically fixes its self. It can never be a serious sim with the no fear of damage and ghosting cars.

I just did my first gran turismo 7 online race and it was a shit show... its just a bunch of people ramming into one another to try and knock them into grass and take their position.... its put such a bad taste in my mouth that I dont even want to bother playing GT7 anymore...
Like I'm actually trying to race properly and use proper race etiquette... and I had 3 people just ram into me in the curves and knock me into grass... and there's no penalty for them doing it... its ridiculous.. I can't believe they would even claim to be "the real racing simulator" if there's no repercussions for other drivers behaving badly...
I'm just going to try the Iracing... maybe the cost of entry for that game filters out all the trash out there...
and what really annoys me is that entire reason I bought a ps5 was to play gran turismo 7... and now its like a 400 dollar table decoration..

ACC LFM isn't perfect but it's rare to happen this kind of revenge since players know they can be banned from using the service.
I started sport mode for the first time ever last week, and had a great 3 days in D/S, but the second I hit C, the idiots came out to play.

A shocking state of affairs that was. Seems like he's part of a team, so hopefully, a team mate has seen this & reported him.
Ich wundere mich seit geraumer Zeit, warum der Upload der PS5 extrem niedrig ist ( max. 7Mbit/s min.2,4 Mbit/s ) .Am PC sagt mir der Speedtest aber 25Bbit/s.
Das haben wir an verschiedenen Tagen, zu verschiedenen Uhrzeiten gemessen. Witzigerweise ist der Upload an Tagen, an dem es ein Systemupdate gab um einiges höher ( gemessen an der PS 5 17Mbit/s ) und nun kommt es, das Ruckeln der Autos auf GT7 ist bei 17Mbit/s absolut verschwunden und am nächsten Tag steht der Upload wieder zwischen 2,4 und 7Mbit/s und die Autos auf GT7 zucken wieder wie verrückt über die Piste.
Warum ist der Upload auf der PS5 so niedrig?
So on this one I am not agreeing that Rory is 100% in the right here. I would call this a racing incident as both drivers are somewhat in the fault here. Lupin could have given more space, but on the other hand after the rejoin and coming off the curb Rory's car is moving across the track. Not defending the Italian guy though, what he did after is inexcusable.

I hate many things in this world but none of that hate will top my hate for gt multiplayer when it goes down to forza horizons multiplayer level.

No question about who's at fault. My personal problem is with inconsistent "ghosting", at times too strong and other times simply not enough. Just last night I crashed into this guy who was literally perpendicular to the track but totally solid, pushed him off even tho he was already going by himself, damaged my car and then get a penalty for pushing an opponent off-track. And I think ramming someone off-track, if ghosting was proper and consistent, should incur much harsher penalties. If you hit me in the back and push me off, there's no way you should get ONLY 5 seconds, personal opinion.
When you finish a race you should be able to use chat straight away. Theres nothing worse than some goon ruining your race and not getting a chance to say it to them

What a dirty driver! 😲 Maybe one day, PD can build Race Control AI to investigate and penalise dirty drivers in real time. If they get DQ-ed after persistent contact, then it would let the clean drivers race in peace. 🙏

Allegedly the bulk of players in the online and daily races are low age teens according to the interview Poly gave at Monaco
This is why i will never bother with this sim.
Of course it wasn't necessary Rory, but that's what you get all day in open lobbies. Why? Because there is no consequences for anything that happened there. Firstly, PD should have awarded you a hefty penalty for your poor rejoin (whether you could do something about it or not, you ruined his race). Secondly PD should be handing out even harsher penalties for punting and ramming. Because they don't, on it goes.
Unfortunately, online racers with your ethics are almost nonexistent so short of sanctioned events or private rooms, I can't see it changing.
I would like to see 10 seconds for first punt, 30 seconds for second indiscretion, and DQ for strike 3. Maybe followed with a 24 hour ban from online comp and followed up with 7 days for another offence within a week of the first. Even Kimi would change up with this! Chances of it actually happening, pretty slim. Keep up the great content mate and keep fighting the good fight. It definitely rubs off on some of us.

I doubt thats the case. In iracing the little kids are usually good and respectable. Its the non english speaking bunch that is ruthless. I wont mention the countries but its always the case

@@jamesalexanderbarnettdp9479 it's EMEA region. So not much time difference. He's from Italy so it's only a hour difference. They region it so you get better connections. It's split between 3 different regions around the world. Not many on a Monday would use a alt account for a different region.
@@mramaz1ngarry728 Fair enough I get what your saying, I guess my opinion on it is from the view that a lot of the time we think the players on the game are the same as us, or are old enough to know better however we forget to take into account the loads of people who play Gran Turismo are probably just kids who think its funny to ruin peoples races.
Rory’s mistake and the rejoin was awful. Yes the retaliation was unbecoming but that’s not an excuse. Drivers should not attempt to rejoin a track while there are cars on the racing line.

It didnt look a good rejoin at first but from his POV it was clear where you were, either he expected you to stay out of the way or ghost through you.
I kinda get the frustration even if he had yielded he would have been so slow through that section and was probably reluctant to do so but just sour grapes from him after the crash. Completely unnecessary.

That was 100% his fault. The only contact was when he drove into you, making contact when you were all the way on the outside of a corner causing him to bounce into the wall. There was nothing you could have done to avoid him turning into you.

The title of the video might as well be: "dumbass keeps crashing into me while I try to avoid him".
There is a duty of care to rejoin correctly. Retaliation was over the top but come on Rory crashed, car on track doesn't have to give way,rejoin safely.
@@norrinradd335 He went wide coming out of a turn and had a slow exit, so saying "rejoin" is misleading since he never crashed or left the track limits. There was no overlap until after the driver from behind forgot to brake.
Drivers like that it’s the reason i don’t play gt7 anymore. He should know coming of the grass your grip is bad. He is just a crybaby.
Your unsafe rejoin started the whole thing. Was the retaliation justified? Of course not, but seeing as how you made no effort to return the position, plenty of blame to go around.
The problem seems to be that PD are focusing their AI efforts into better robots to race, when the best way to ensure everybody WANTS to race real people is to use AI to better steward and penalize racing incidents.
Some other games have mechanisms forcing you to return position when a crash is your fault. The better leagues have had returning position as a core part of racing etiquette. Timed penalties don’t really make the player face the direct consequences of taking someone out. Having to return position fairly immediately (I think PC2 made you do it in 20 sec or so) for staters takes some of the rage factor away from the aggrieved party, plus puts him ahead of you where retaliation isn’t a temptation.

On the replay you actually rejoined perfectly fine. He is on the far left racing line. He basically just drove into the back of you rather than go around.

I understand the part where you want to be clean and race fairly, but seeing you just take hit after hit from idiots and you do nothing about it is frustrating to watch. If he's trying to take you out and you're not in the race, just return serve and get on with it
I will never intentionally ram another driver in any sim, not my style.
I kind of get him. Your rejoin was, shall we say, not your best. But he should have focused on finishing instead of trying to take you out afterwards.
I'm sorry, but, you're the one who is rejoining the track, you could've been more carefull aswell, what would've put in the path of whoever came behind, and we could have a similar video but with other intervenient, anyways, not that serious! ✌️
