This is so wild! I'm a Forensic Anthropology student and from what I can see, that actually looks like a human Tibia - one of the two bones that make up your lower leg. You can see some of the landmarks on it quite clearly, but it has defnitely been severely water damaged. It's pretty easy to distinguish animal and human bone if you know what you're looking for because their shapes are slightly different. Thanks for the awesome content!
And it clearly belongs to a shorter being than Jake, if that's the case and it is in fact the Tibia of a child/teen then this could bring the investigation to a whole other level, also just by looking at it tells me that the water damage might have caused it to be non identifiable if it was human, meaning that because of the lack of preservation means that there is a chance this can be identified as human, but they won't be able to identify the exact indentity of the said human.
Hey Jake, I'm an archaeologist and it looks like you have a cow leg bone there. I work every year in Israel and in the states and we find these things all the time. The bone dose however appear to show significant signs of arthritis which is normal for an older cow additionally its probably been rolling around in the river for years. My opinion is that some farmer X amount of years ago dumped his dead cow on the riverside somewhere upstream..
What I love about this: They are cleaning the body of waters, they try to find the rightful owner, and if its a weapon or something bad, they call the police.
I think he is clever, and anyone with almost 10 million followers is doing many things right. Zero visibility alligator bogs are no place to dive, as are many other places he dives, but there he is with diver friends and assistants. Takes serious courage. I joke, but I sincerely admire him and diving for treasure myself, I've learned a few things from someone many years my junior.
I was telling my mom about this video and she told me about a serial killer in the 70s to 80s in Atlanta that the police believed he dumped the bodies in that river!!!!!
