    WOW guys, your title says it all as simple and true as it could be and you did such an awesome overview on our lids. We look forward to seeing your continued input as you use them more and more. But most importantly, we look forward to keeping your fish safe and inside the tank where they belong!
    I just wanted to point out a few small things that we think are important to clarify for your viewers.
    1. All ClearView Lids are made using Polycarbonate plastic. Though polycarbonate and acrylic look similar, they are very different. One of the biggest differences lies in their strength. Polycarbonate is 200x's more impact resistant than glass. Acrylic is only 10x's more impact resistant than glass. Acrylic will bow and warp quickly when used as a lid. Polycarbonate, on the other hand, will not...at all.
    2. The lids you are prominently displaying in the studio are our all NEW Pisces EXO line. Pisces EXO takes the innovative interlocking modular joint design that was launched a year ago with the Tsunami but builds on it to offer even greater options for expandability and durability in the future. The most notable difference between the Pisces EXO and the Tsunami is the addition of the venting cutouts all around the frame. This vented frame boasts a solid frame surface width of only 1" across 95% of the frame...even on the largest models. Comparatively, Tsunami has a solid frame surface width of 2 1/2" across ~75% of the frame. The Pisces EXO frame is designed to 'breath' a lot better than a non-vented frame like our Tsunami and Classic style lids (resulting in less condensation on the frame in low humidity/dry air environments like yours). Lastly, a Pisces EXO weighs ~50% less than a Tsunami lid for the same tank, but is also carefully engineered to be structurally stronger. With Pisces EXO we now find the weight of the lids to be getting very close to the lightweight afforded by aluminum framed lids of the past....but in a much nicer looking, more durable, and more customizable format, that is designed to compliment the tank while protecting all of your little fishies =).
    3. All lids are built to order and shipped fully built and screened, though we may again in the future offer DIY assembly kits. Tsunami and Pisces EXO lids are modular and can, therefore, be upgraded in the future to add new accessories (such as the braces, solid inserts, extra feed doors, new section pieces with different light cutouts, or an added autofeeder).
    4. Pisces EXO lids are not yet available on the website, but are available through Pre-Order. At launch, they are currently available only for Red Sea, WaterBox, and Innovative Marine aquariums. Other brands will roll out in stages. Classic and Tsunami lids are available currently on the website per regular terms and availability.
    Further details can be found on our website at www.clearviewlids.com. You can also email us at orders@artfullyacrylic.com.

I am waiting for them to build it so the waiting is rough. Wasn't the cheapest option I think I spent over 250 dollars for this lid . So Judgement will be strong once I get it on how it works out. I used to always think lids were an unnecessary eyesore when placed, especially, on rimless/ada style tank. Then 2 weeks ago, my most beloved discus was found about 8 feet in front of the tank, he felt like a hard and sticky piece of rubber. I figured out that night the little moonlight LED I have went.....the power supply got wet. Finicky fish do strange things when they cant see at all.

    I think this is the sexiest thing, just sent a question to bulk reef supply (looking for clear frames) and got a mediocre answer, on the aluminum frames 🖼 ...... this is going to be huge in the highend freshwater market for rimless aquariums. Because the idea is clear silicone, clear Lilypipes, no cables shown. Everything hidden and this product fits perfectly!

      @clearviewlids255 5 років тому

      I promise our pricing on the Pisces EXO is a mere 20% more for the base lid than our original Classic lid, and not at all outrageous. In fact, I keep complaining to my owner that his design and time is worth more.. All of our options and add ons for the Pisces EXO are the same prices listed on our site for the other two lid types. We do bare minimum margins, as we are not just a business, but fellow enthusiasts, as well. We are better able to offer lower margins and prices because we are a small operation and we outsource nothing. All programming, fabricating, design and R&D are done in house only.

    I've been looking for a lid after loosing my flame hawk fish (who was my buddy) - *note* - The lids featured in this video are the new Pisces EXO. Not the Tsunami. The Pisces EXOs are currently in preorder so don't accidentally order Tsunami thinking you'll get the cutout lids. Jake think you should update the description so peeps don't "flip their lids" when they get wrong product.
    Also the lids are made out of polycarbonate, not Acrylic.

    • @clearviewlids255
      @clearviewlids255 5 років тому

      I can say that we are very appreciative to Reef Builders and Jake Adams for getting this video out. The naming of the lids in this video is our fault, as we told him we were planning to send him Tsunami lids, but the Pisces EXO design was finished in time to send, instead. Our Operations Manager has been incredibly diligent (probably annoyingly so to some customers) in checking with each Tsunami order that comes in as to which lid they meant to order.
      We do appreciate your concern and correct facts pointed out, ten4tango. Also, very sorry to hear of the loss of your buddy :(
      Come see us and get a new Pisces EXO before you replace him or lose anyone else.

    • @killianmonch679
      @killianmonch679 5 років тому

      The real comparison is not even price related. It is that Lexan is 200x more shatter resistant than glass, a superior material and build, all around. I am sure if you email them, tell them what you paid for your glass lids, they will be happy to tell you the price difference, I checked their site and there is a link to learn all about the new lid line.

    Go with TopLids, clearview is not a good company. The lid they made did not fit my aquarium after waiting over 2 weeks. They would not refund a 9$ cutout that i no longer wanted on the replacement lid as the first lid that arrived did not fit. They claimed that the dimension of my tank was off although the lid would not fit on both corners hence the lid would not fit either way if the dimension of the tank was off or not. They did not make it clear that i wont be getting a refund for the custom cut that i no longer wanted on the replacement lid when i asked for that change. I find out later when i inquired about my refund for the custom cutout that i wont be getting that refunded. Horrible customer service from my experience. I mightve save a few bucks from picking toplids but i guess you pay for what you get. Another thing is the screen that they put on the frame is not done perfectly considering you paid a decent amount for a custom lid. The screen is not stretched out nicely and evenly (basically imperfections).

    • @nmjhd1234
      @nmjhd1234 5 років тому

      I meant i mightve saved a few bucks going with their tsunami lid to the regular lid made by toplids, but you paid for what you get. Lesson learned and i just want people to be aware of this when making a decision.

    Reduces cost.... looks at lid for my tank which is a standard one... $250... good lord I'd hate to see if the cost wasn't reduced.
    That said, I am still old school running metal halides, no way I'm trusting acrylic lids. And I almost feel like having a nice rimless tank that you can look down into the top is kind of pointless with a lid.

    • @clearviewlids255
      @clearviewlids255 5 років тому

      Hi Mike, our lids are actually made using polycarbonate (largely a cause of the cost) so your metal halides won't cause issues with the frame at all. We have customers with classic lids going back over 4 years now without an issue in sight with the frames. The clear mesh, on the other hand, will eventually deteriorate under the intensity and heat of metal halides. We have some metal halide customers reporting 1 1/2-2 years before needing to pull and replace the screen. Luckily all of our frames are designed to allow easy replacement of the screen. Tsunami and Pisces EXO take it a step further by allowing individual frame section replacement as well.
