That shot shows, left to right: John 'Deakie' Deacon, Bass Player and occasional vocals, next Roger Taylor, Drums and vocals, then (Sir!)Brian May, Lead Guitar and vocals, and then, of course, the one and only Freddie Mercury, vocals, piano, guitar and front man, though he never classed himself as leader - just another member of Queen. All songwriters and all absolute LEGENDS!
Queen's final lineup formed in 1971 & they were together until Freddie's death in 1991 from complications of AIDS. The band consists of: Freddie Mercury - vocals (most often lead), piano, guitar, degree in graphic design (designed all Queen logos. Brian May - guitar, vocals (occasional lead), piano, PhD in astrophysics (has worked with NASA). Built his guitar with his father out of an old fireplace and odds and ends. Still tours with Roger as Quee + Adam Lambert. Roger Taylor - drums, vocals (occasional lead & all the REALLY high notes are Roger), guitar, piano, has a degree in biology and was in dentistry school until Queen got serious. Still tours with Brian as Queen + Adam Lambert. John Deacon - bass, guitar, piano, occasional background vocals in concert, has an advanced degree in electrical engineering and designed a unique amp called the Deaky Amp that Brian uses to this day. Retired from music in 1997. Each of the 4 members wrote multiple top 10 hits & all have individually been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Their catalog has over 200 songs on 15 studio albums along with multiple compilation & live albums. Their music spans multiple genres including rock, metal, pop, funk, blues, gospel, rockabilly, folk and even opera. Somebody to Love Montreal '81 is probably the best live song to start with. LIVE AID '85 is also a must (it's been said to be the best live rock performance EVER - do the entire set at once for the complete impact). Queen is truly at their best during live performances. The downside to that though is that you miss a lot of gems that are hidden on the studio albums. Queen has multiple songs that just aren't able to be performed live to their standards because of the layering with voices & instruments that they can do in a studio. Other than Live Aid, there are 4 major concerts I would recommend any song from: Rainbow '74 Hamersmith Odeon '75 Montreal '81 Wembley '86 There are some good performances also from Milton Keynes, Hyde Park '75, Rio '85 & Budapest. The Queen rabbit hole is deep & vast, but musically, one of the most fascinating journeys you'll ever take.
Queen’s line-up has remained the same since they formed. Brian and Roger were in a band called Smile, fronted by Tim Staffel. Freddie used to attend their shows as a fan and when Tim left Freddie stepped in and called themselves Queen. John Deacon joined them and the rest is history.
@@HealthAtAnyCostBut not all of them, Roger does do a majority, but Freddie does many as well. I have genuinely listened to so much Queen i can hear their individual voices in every harmony, and Freddie for sure hits a lot of high notes, they harmonize their high notes a lot too
This studio version is great, but as the others have said, you really need to watch the live version of this song in Montreal. They work so well together, it is amazing especially when they didn't have earpieces or auto tune just each member watched Freddie and they practiced their work.
Great song, and yes, you need to react to more Queen! From the 70's to the 90's, you wont be disappointed. Left - John Deacon, bass. Next - Roger Taylor, drummer. Next - Brian May, guitar. Right - Freddie Mercury, vocals and audience! Oh, and I'm waiting for the live from Montreal '81 comments coming! Brace yourself!! Try Under Pressure from Wembley '86 Live- you may recognise it! 😉
If you intend to dive into Queen you’re in for enjoying the greatest rock in roll band of all time. Then and Still !!!! Queen is comprised of Four Musical Geniuses with the most famous Frontman of all time !!!! ❤️❤️ Freddie Mercury
The definitive version of this song is the much seen - Queen in Montreal 1981 Live - singing SOMEBODY TO LOVE - do that, and you will see why Freddie is considered one of the best live performers of all time.
In the studio versions, layering voices was indeed a thing. The live Montreal version of this song shows how they adapted the songs for the stage without the studio backing tracks. Just four musicians at the very top of their game. One of the few bands who were outstanding live - you don't know Queen until you've seen them in action. Freddie in particular was mesmerising and they always got the audience to interact. A good start would be their performance at Live Aid! One of the best performances you will ever see.
Live performance of this song.... in Montreal 1981. Their live performances are always different to the studio version and that makes it very interesting.
You need to do the live version Montreal 81, no ear pieces or auto tune (absolutely brilliant) raw talent at it it's best. This is the best rabbit hole you'll ever go down, enjoy. ❤❤❤❤
Thanks, Duane - such a great song.. when you get to it, I'm sure you will LOVE the live version of this in Montreal in 1981 (this studio original features more harmonies.. but the live version shows such energy.. and the way the BAND brought this to the stage)... appreciate your reaction...
The blond who is the drummer is Rodger Taylor…… The guitarist is Brian May The piano player and lead singer is the famous Freddie Mercury and the bass player is John Deacon
I actually attended many Queen live concerts throughout the mid 70s and 80s, checkout the whole LiveAid 1985 Wembley Stadium United Kingdom performance from Queen, 20 artists from around the world performing at the concert on the day, Queen came on stage for their 20 minute performance and with their legendary flamboyant music stole the show, Freddie Mercury had the 72,000 crowd in the palm of his hand, also Queen at Wembley Stadium 1986 with their live performance of a song ( Under Pressure), also Montreal 1981 with Queens performing the live version of ( Somebody To Love) which is classed as the best performance from a band ever, great reaction thanks 🙏
Where Queen is reacted to, the Queenies will come! You will hardly find more devoted fans than Queenies, those who love and adore Queen. And damn, do we know our Queen facts!! Before you ask, Dr. Sir Brian May (the guitarist who did the solo) has naturally curly hair. He is 76 years old now and his hair looks exactly the same, but white. Well, a tad thinner, but who cares. Freddie, the lead singer (NOT the leader of the band as he will tell you in a dozen interviews) wears whatever the hell he wants. If you watch the 1981 Montreal Concert to the end, you will see him in tight white shorts, no undies, no shirt, no shoes, and a red bandana around his neck and a white hat. Roger and Brian (in the commentary of that concert) both shake their heads at Freddie's clothing choices sometimes. So seeing him in a leotard was nothing compared to what he would do sometimes. These guys are the most cerebral band that ever existed. All with degrees, Dr. Sir Brian May with his Doctorate in Astrophysics was knighted by King Charles last year. Roger is an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for his service to music. John has retired and lives quietly with his wife of 49 years and they have 6 kids and loads of grandkids. And of course, we miss Freddie deeply. I was lucky enough to see Queen in 1978. I remember it like it was yesterday. Thanks for finding the correct rabbit hole to fall into!
I saw in an interview that Freddie's choice of outfit on the second night in Montreal was a reaction to being told what to wear by the production company. They wanted the band to wear the same clothes on both nights for continuity of filming and that outfit (or lack of it) was Freddie's response! 😂😂😂😂
Here’s a few to start with- live version of Fat Bottomed Girls from Milton Keyes; A Kind of Magic from Wembley Stadium in 1986; The Show Must Go On; Who Wants To Live Forever
Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole. So much variety of style and production awaiting you. Queen don't fit into any one genre, they are a genre all of their own. I recommend that you now watch this same song performed live in Montreal in 1981. Freddie always ensured that every performance was different to keep the song 'fresh', and that if someone wanted to hear the studio version, they should just stay home and listen to the record. Besides, a lot of the studio recordings were impossible to reproduce live because of the multi-layering of voices. Subscribing for more Queen! 👑
All I can say is if you love this you will love the Montreal version I'm sure there is a ton of people that already recommended it and there's a good reason why can't wait to see you react to that
OK - left to right in that photo are John Deacon (bass), Roger Taylor (drums), Brian May (guitar), Freddie Mercury (front man, lead vocals, piano). This is Freddie's song. ***** more info? Freddie Mercury (front man, lead singer, pianist, leotard wearer), if you can write it, Freddie can sing it!! Drummer (blonde) is Roger Taylor, he has the high pitched voice, but also quite a raspy one. Bassist is John Deacon, he seldom sings, licks his fingers when he's playing. Lead guitarist is Brian May (tall, curly haired) who has a mellow soft voice, and plays his handmade guitar named Red Special. They layer their vocals beautifully. All four are writers within the group.
Great reaction! You have no idea what you just got yourself into. You have to understand that queen touches every genre of music imaginable. Not only do they do rock ‘n’ roll incredibly but they also do R&B, blues, gospel, country, and western, even opera. They are the only band, where each member has been inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame and Queen as a group, inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame. From Freeze Frame the performers are: L= John Deacon (bass) L Center = Roger Taylor (drums) R Center = Brian May (Guitar) R= Freddie Mercury Lead Vocal and Piano. From the left, the blonde is the drummer Roger Taylor. He can has a high singing voice. He backs up Freddie's vocals well. Next to him is the lead Guitarist, Brian May who, along with Freddie, writes most of the songs. He has a good singing voice and has a PHD in Astrophysics. Then there is Freddie Mercury who is the lead singer and front man. He plays piano and also guitar. The Bass is John Deacon who occasionally sings. Early Queen is incredible and you need to discover it as well as later Queen.
I just came upon this channel this morning, left to right on that Image you mentioned. John Deacon (Bass Guitar) occasionally seen doing background vocals, Roger Taylor (Drums, vocals, and a brilliant high falsetto singing voice,) Sir Brian May (Lead Guitarist on occasion played keyboard as seen on the making of the "One Vison" music video; oh, if you ever react to "One Vision by Queen react to the EXTENDED version, that one will be a sure treat for you to watch because the video shows them back in the recording studio singing that song) and then of course Freddie Mercury (Lead vocals, pianist) All 4 band members have contributed to the band in terms of writing songs and creating hits, all of them wonderful, talented musicians. They never stuck to just one genre they went all over the genre spectrum just so you know. How about you react to their song Radio Ga Ga next (Written by Roger Taylor) or "Another one Bites the dust" (Written by John Deacon) or "We will Rock You" (Written by Brian May) or another songs written by Brian May (Fat Bottomed Girls and Hammer to Fall) or more songs written by Freddie Mercury, "We are the Champions", "Killer Queen", "Crazy little thing called love" (A tribute to Elvis Presley song), "Don't Stop me now") and there are so much more! I enjoyed your video reaction! Peace. ☮

Queen. Google it. Research them and then listen from 1st to -16th album and prepare for your jaw to hit the floor. 😂We Queenies like reactors that do a bit of research so we can then fill in the blanks and recommend all their extraordinary gems. You know Queen even if you don’t know you know them.
There Live Aid set is only 20 minutes but so powerful 😊
I’m gonna take some of the songs from that set to react to
@@DuaneReacts Watching that crowd is part of the fun. Freddy said his favorite instrument was the audience. 😂
Live , Queen is the best band in the world .
97.8% of Queen is better live than studio version. It’s the energy they put into the live versions.
5:22 that really high note was the drummer, Roger Taylor 🤯
Check out Live Queen. Nobody does live better. There is earlier Queen 1970's, which does have some heavier stuff. And later Queen 80's and 90's which you will be more familiar with. It's all good! Follow the fans they will guide you! You are on an amazing journey.
Would be good to see some reactions to Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon,The Wall and Pulse concert.Im sure you will enjoy listening!

The highest voice? Roger Taylor, the drummer.
Better late to the party than never getting there.
James Blunt Monsters
Do the live versions
You're My Best Friend
This is good…. But only good compared to the 1981 Montreal version. Best one song performance ever filmed.
wrong video. should be the live version in Canada
It's perfect and then he can follow it with live from Milton Keynes reaction which is also perfect.
Sometimes I feel like a lot of these reaction videos are not genuine reactions. How are you asking for the names of the members, did you not do the research first?
Horrible interruptions. Why not just google their names when it’s over.
