Thank you for making a video about this. I already used mods, but looking forward to some of these. Kuertee is such a modding legend.
Just got X4 and I'm hyped. You're doing great content. Coming from Freelancer and SC. Might I suggest trying "Realspace Engines Mod and Ships Expansion" mod for Newtonian Expanse gameplay. Just can't abide the airplanes in space thing.

Ship Variation is great, i can also recommend the Teladi Kea and the Argon Cerberus mods.
Most important however is in my opinion the "Spacesuit Bluetooth mod, it increases the range on scanning data leaks on stations and ships.
With this mod you no longer have to literally ram yourself into the station for scanning the leak.
Kea is also in Ship Variation (and SV for VRO which Captain Collins is using here, but there renamed to Egret). It's a great looking ship, comparable to Katana and Kuraokami. SV might boost Xenon a bit though due to making them use better ships, so beware. I've only used the standalone Kea mod with VRO.
@@magitsu The Kea in Ship Variation is a heavy Gunship, the Kea in the separate Mod is a Corvette.
@@magitsu I toned down the Xenon L destroyer a couple months ago for SV VRO as it was a little over powered for its weight class. I need to make some more balance passes on the ships again, I just haven't had time to.
Try Reaction Force. Let's you set a patrolling fleet that will answer distress calls.

@@equilibrium964it is. Patrol command is useless. With this mod you can even set the fleet with a station as a commander and will still so the patrolling but staying as a subordinate.
Are you planning an analysis of each of the X4 races? For instance, how easy or hard their starting position is, the ships and weapons they have available to them etc?

Neat, I'll have to take a look at this crystal cooldown remover. always bugged me that they nerfed that, it was a real easy way to jumpstart your game into the next level from the early game but didn't do much after that, hope this fixes that

Do you have any updated info on Missiles? I loved using them in X3 but it seems very different in X4. I'm not sure about trusting the AI with missile turrets. They all seem to have a much shorter range than X3 as well.
Is there a mod that enables achievements during a modded game.. I'm planning on a new game with a few qol mods but dont want to miss out on achievement.

@@CaptainCollins Reaction Force - check it on steam workshop. Its from guy named I.C.E.. Its improved patrol.
But its working. And your ships actualy defending your assets.
What it does?
It adds a new default command for playr ships, that will automatically respond to ships in distress.
Do mods disable steam achievements?
Can you mix Nexus mods with the Workshop, provided they are compatible?
I just bought the game and the bundle. I don't know what mods are best.
Is it Interworlds so good, or better to play the game plain and then decide later?
Yes, you can mix those without problems. But steam workshop mods update themselves, while you need to update mods from Nexus yourself.

If you have duplicated mods, different versions of a mod, one or some could be off.

Have a slight issue with consumables. After I installed the mods I have only 20 consumables in S and 40 in M ships. Do you know which mod did that? I think it’s reasonable, but for scout ships there should be at least double :/

Can anyone recommend a mod that relieves some of the block chain problems in the early economy. I know Ego Soft wants to leave doors open for the player to insert himself, but I'm repeatedly having to micro my traders because the minimum ask, is higher than the minimum bid for just about any item you care to mention. It's amazing that the Argons, I'm pretty well tied to Argon Space right now; but its amazing they can build anything at all. And it makes it hard to level up pilots when no one is buying. It's quite frustrating, and with about 5Million free credits I'm a long way off from playing hero to the Galaxy just now.
Is it worth doing a vanilla run before jumping into mods?
I don't think you need to. I never did. It's up to you.
If you want more variety of ships and a quicker game pace, I'd get mods, vanilla can often be slow at times.
Definitely!!! -most of these mods have a major impact of the original gameplay and the original feel must be known before customizing it to your flavour.
The most plot problems is with mods
The "extensions" file doesn't exist on my end. Just bought X4 and haven't messed with files at all.
Then just create it :) In your steamapps -> common -> X4 Foundations -> create "extensions" and you're good to go :)

Im hoping for the x4 Extended mod
Cpt, in 2 first months playing i have 600 hours played, 19.919,539,19 net worth, full Terran ship production economy capable of doin 10 Asgard and 120 Gladiators at once, i got my first sector at Silent Witness XII with 10 scrap recycling bases fully operational and 60% of what it needs to do massive non Terran ships production, after finish that ship building project i will be capable of doin 120 XL Ships like Zeus and Colossus and more than 1000 S/Ship at once... At this rate i feel like i can start a Universal war and dominate all sectors in 2 months, so my question is, there is any other way to enjoy this game? Because im afraid of putting the game aside in 2 months, i like it but quests are always the same, i feel like you can get strong so quickly and the only option is create another save and start again and shouldn´t be like this... Sry for bad english :/
Make a new game and limit yourself. Im making a terran play and im going to build only the HQ. If i need ships i will buy it. No traders, no miners, only combat ships. A full combat playtrough
@@moisesbrito7567 Unfortunately i´ve already put the game aside at the time of your comment because my mass production made my laptop having hard time when i start the game xD slowing the game and all interactive menus to much, with the amount of ships i have right now... I will probably start again when i have my desktop and i will follow your advice
The only mod I would be interested in would be a spaceship simulation of the flight model. Reversing being limited makes it far too much like a submarine/atmospheric style and it's frustrating.

@@Titton they banned modders and mods for ridiculous things like making womens faces nicer or changing a lesbian NPC to be romanceable by men so some modders left nexus in support of banned mod makers. dont really understand why women need to be ugly its some ridiculous american political thing. like a foundational aspect of modding is that you make your single player game however you want no one else is going to see it or be offended by it
