"Steven continues to engage in activity he refers to as acting." LOL, Dr. Grande, you just slay me!
😂..I am out of breath.
Must admit, I liked watching his movie Under Siege in 92. Did not speak English then and appreciated the minimal dialog.
"Steven also continues to engage in an activity he refers to as...acting."
There is not enough aloe vera in the world for that burn! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know 😏 that was a gem 💎🤩!!
This was the best joke 😅😅😂😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣
He urgently reached for the Amica Creme.
👌😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
Dr. Grande manages to be more entertaining and authentic than Steven Segall has ever been despite having a single facial expression and voice tone to work with.
Not to mention Dr. Grande’s outfits are actually good looking and fit him, even entertaining such as in this Hawaiian looking shirt today. Seagal’s looks look like an unending torture for the eyeballs, an overstuffed sausage in a too tight, too long, black rotted casing. Wouldn’t want to eat, smell it, touch it, be in the same city block as it. I’ll take Dr. Grande’s Hawaiian shirt any day over Steven Seagal wearing anything or nothing.
HaHa! Accurate
Doc, your humor and sarcasm is second to none! This is hilarious 😂
I never could stand Segal. In the late 80's I actually ran into him at a video rental store. He was there with some blonde model type talking to the owner. I could just FEEL the arrogance and insecurity. He kept looking at me like he was waiting for me to recognize him. When I finshed paying I said bye to the owner and the model and ignored Segal. I wish I could have seen his face.
🤣🤣🤣👍👏👏👏
Idk man the fact that he was chillin with a model sounds dope to me
Comment gold right there.
@@justiceforjuicy6765 If she was with him because of his so-called celebrity, that doesn’t speak well for her.
He was probably looking for his latest movie Direct To Rental!
"Activity he refers to as acting"😂😂
Savage😂
That part
LITERALLY my favorite part of his podcasts is his dry aserbic wit 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm definitely not a podcast follower type of person, but I absolutely love him and listen all the time
i laughed so loud everyone at work was like “???” lolol this is why we love you Dr. Grande
Dr Grande never holds back
"The dog never returned to save his acting career." I cackled 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I 🥰😍 your snark, Dr. Grande!! 👏👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
This got me also :D
Dr. Grande, I have to say I love your content, and appreciate your sense of humor, but you ABSOLUTELY hit a hilarious home run with this one! I'm talking Stand Up Comedy level! My dog was even cracking up! How about this movie title... Dr. Grande is going "Above and Beyond"!!!!
Dr. Grade's deadpan jokes are everything that is good and pure in the world.
Truth 🤠, he's so good at it
Don't forget puppies!
@@oxcart4172 nawh man puppies used to bite my hair and yank it like a toy when I was a kid. Dr Grande has never done that. So he wins.
And how about that Hawaiian print?
But, like all great powers it should be judiciously applied, suit the narrative and not be forced or overused.
"...the dog never returned to save his acting career!" Dr. Grande you missed your calling...you would've been a great stand up comic. Thanks for another great show. I always start my day off with your shows as they always put a smile on my face.
I agree, Dr Grande is very funny and it takes a lot to make me laugh out loud. I am still giggling about his comment stating Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's Yorkie dog had the best defamation claim out of the three of them. He should write a comedy series, I am sure it would be great.
I agree! He would make an epic stand-up comic. Especially because he’s so serious when he cracks jokes and roasts the hell out of lying bad actors. 🤣😭 I can’t even!
Yes! His dry humor is the best!
His dry sense of humour rocks!
The dog was called Bruce Lee
Steven Seagul is "Overdue for retirement". What a great line Dr Grande! 🤣
Dr. Grande, you hit the nail on the head with your analysis! Bravo! I could never stand that man, he isn't a nice person and he's definitely NOT ABOVE anyone.
My favourite Seagal story is that he was on a movie set telling everyone how the Dalai Lama gave him some special blessing, and he reached a spiritual awareness about most people, just then someone told him his wife left a message saying she couldn't bring his kids over for the weekend. He blew up and started calling her every name under the sun.
Another one is Gene LeBell who is the inspiration for Brad Pitt's character in "once upon a time in Hollywood" and got challenged by Seagal saying his Aikido can defeat any choke hold.LeBell allegedly choked him out causing Seagal to poo his pants.
Yea he was full of it
Faux Buddhism very 90s.
@@belstar1128 Richard Gere was another notorious "look at me! I'm a Buddhist!" dickwad. Best thing Sly Stallone ever did was make Richard Gere the, uhhhhh, butt of gerbil jokes. :D
Not that a *real* blessing from the Dalai Lama signifies much. After all, that ghastly twerp who ran the Nexium cult received His Holiness's sacred thumbs up. Must have cost a pretty penny. Seagal doesn't have cult leader money.
Judging by all the weight Seagal has gained, he could start a whole franchise of movies using his 3 letter formula. Titles such as:
1. "Time For Breakfast."
2. "Early For Lunch."
3. "What's For Dinner?"
4. "Late Night Snack." (Subtitled "Meal #4").
A buddy of mine works in movies as an extra and occasionally as a stunt man. According to him, Seagal is the biggest a**hole in Hollywood.
Feast of the Redemption Gleaners
"Meal Team Six"
"Over The Counter" stars Seagal as your ordinary neighborhood pharmacist who has a bottled past nobody can figure out or understand yet he says he'll get your descriptions on time.
How about "Buffet of Danger" or "Deadly Dessert"
Coming to a theatre near you soon, Steven Seagal in "Hard to Fill".
Back in the late 80's when his acting career was in its prime (for lack of a better word) people were convinced he was a former Navy SEAL and Vietnam veteran, not to mention a total badass. I guess people were a lot more impressionable in those days. I only ever saw one film of his that was watchable, and I'll be damned if I don't recall which one it was. You should do a longer documentary on him called *Above the Truth, the Many Lies of Steven Seagal.*
Yet we were all definitely more impressionable back then but we also didn't have phones in our pockets we could use to fact check things. Reminds me of hearing about hot dog girl and junior high.
Either Under Seige, or Above the Law.
He wouldn't be old enough to be in Nam to begin with 😂
@@manlymen552 Well he was born in 1952 so technically he would have but it doesn't matter, he never went anywhere near Nam.
Seagal is so full of himself .. i think he probably has convinced himself he WAS in the Seals or Rangers lol . Their was an interview where he said this is what "we" in the special forces like to call etc . The guy actually thinks he was one of them lol Just as he thinks he's regarded as a legendary master among the other's . He is the true definition of the word narcissist .
3:07, the Doc has such a dry delivery that it makes his injections of humor so effective. Very good video, would like to see more stuff like this. "Above the Truth" was my favorite lol.
You completely read my mind here.
Yes I quit enjoy multiple forms of humor. Humor itself is such a teetering act in my opinion. No matter what form.
Seagal is a prime example of a peak hypermasculine superego on steroids. He reminds me of Pat, an old classmate from high school. Pat claimed to be a Navy Seal, then a CIA operative, then a fire jumper, then a deputy sheriff in some county we could never locate because he kept changing the name, thinking we wouldn't notice (Ashtabula/Beluthihatchi/Shanictopee/Menominieno/Wampum). In his next incarnation Pat was chef, but not just any chef. He was trained at Cordon Bleu in France. Then he started dropping names of all the restaurants where he was executive chef, which is either really impressive or means he can't hold down a job. And of course, he trained under all the big name chefs. I know this sort of personality all too well. I think everyone has known a guy like Pat...or Steven Seagal.
Yes, just as you can be fatally injured in a fall from a sidewalk curb as a failed BASE jump, your narrative personal legend should be proportionate to reality and not over vivid hyperbole.
You're assigning too much uniqueness to the clown cs he's really an ' example ' of dumb downed America manipulated by Hollyweird and he's no different than Chuck Norris , Arnold , & others that can't ACT ...their way out of a wet paper bag.
Yes, & those types are extremely exhausting. They suck all the energy out of any room they enter. I avoid them like the plague.
You guys watch too much internet. When ever was he hypermasculine....more so than the rest of 'em? Out of all the 80's/90's action stars he was the least overtly muscular....just in shape but without the bulging muscles. He did not stereotypically get 'the girl' in every movie or at least they didn't show it much, unlike the other guys. Fighting was more believable than most of the other nonsense. Bad actor......aren't they all 😏? Only one who can really act but showed it in just a couple of movies is Stallone.
First 5 or 6 Seagal movies are just gold! After that it was a sliding scale.....as with most.
Ugh I went to school with one of those kids too.... training for the military, getting to go on super secret missions, jumping out of helicopters, high police chases in fancy schmancy roadsters..... uh huh sureeee!! good thing he was an upper class men but too bad my BFF sometimes dated him... I regret indulging him in his blatant lies instead of just calling it like the bs tht it was 😡 he ended up getting some younger girl from upstate pregnant so..... scary tht this sorta wacko is a father
I always thought Steven Seagal was the Anti-Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris seems humble, likeable and doesn’t appear ( at least in my view ) not to take himself too seriously even though he is a tough martial artist. Steven Seagal is so self absorbed he was quoted as saying he “wished someday he could be known as an actor rather than a sex symbol.” 😂
😆😆😆 the most mysterious part of Steven is where he got that roadkill rug on his head
Pyramid schemes MLM aren't that humble. Steven has some over the top arrogance (or complete insanity) but don't be fooled by some off the shelf humility that screws poor people. Steven might be childish but he is what he is(n't)
Well said
@@archiebunkers7881 Yeah...that 'hair'...pretty silly...maybe he got ahold of a skunk, then dyed the white stripe with some shoe polish...the KIWI brand was really good for that!
And a 'sex symbol'....Ha-ha-ha....
Chuck was anti Bruce Lee
Thank you for your discussion of Stephen Segall. I wasn’t aware of his familiarity with acting. It came as quite a surprise to me.
Todd you have such a slicing sense of humor , not only "poker face" but also "poker mind" great listening to you.
“Putin has distanced himself from Steven Seagal”
Just a simple deadpan line that killed me! 😂
Hysterical 🤣😜
I was just like "Yeah yeah people are attracted to the simi..." And then I couldn't stop laughing... The image is also PERFECT.
I always think of Steven Seagal of the boy who got bullied so much that his used his victimhood to try to be stronger than his bullies but the power got to his head so much that he became a bully himself and a great example of toxic masculinity.
Fittingly enough, he's from Michigan, the home of another narcissistic celebrity who I believe deserves an analysis from you, Doctor, Madonna.
He'd still bounce your head off the pavement. Insecurity and all! lol
Michigan relinquishes it's claim to Steven Seagal.
Segal was born in Michigan but raised in California. Madonna, unfortunately can't be dismissed as a Michigan native.
Lol if he can move that overweight ass off the sofa that is.
Madonna actually sings in one of her songs (I forget which one) “….I used to be a narcissist…”
Dr., you are so good that I never skip any ads for your maximum benefit!
Seagal's early movies were actually very good, as an action movies, of course. Under Siege was an excellent premise. I met Seagal when I was working as armed security officer for company called Westec, and found him very respectful.
Under Siege was "an excellent premise?" A rogue CIA operative goes postal,, takes over a US Navy battleship with ONLY the executive officer helping him,, and brings a playmate in a cake for some reason that's totally inconsequential except for giving Seagull a female costar... This operative ALSO stole a North Korean submarine and just sorta kept it for,, I don't know,, a fishing yacht or something...
THEN you got the ship... The USS Missouri,, a 55000 ton BB with a crew of over 1200... The crew is either totally incompetent OR the exec's orders seem kosher JUST BECAUSE there's a playmate coming aboard... Orders to disregard the security of the ships nuclear weapons are "protested",, rather than brought to the immediate attention of the captain and whatever admirals were associated with the ships deployment...
And the captain - NO CAPTAIN IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY EVER sits in his cabin reading a novel, especially not for hours and hours... And that idiotic story about the party sucks so much wind that it's a Hoover deluxe,, nothing's ever unscheduled on a United States Navy warship except maybe combat and this took place during peacetime....
And now the "hero"... Or should say ZERO,, Casey Ryback... Ah forget it,, I already am about to projectile vomit from recalling all the stupidity of under siege....
Years ago a friend and I had been training in the martial arts and were invited to a studio in the Los Angeles area were Steven Seagal was to appear. We were coached on the way to greet Mr. Seagal and about not looking him in the eyes when we meet. Fortunately at the last minute the main man didn’t show. My friend and I dodged a very bad acted meeting with an even worse actor. It was a great day for us. Thank you Dr. Grande and I love the shirt. 🙋♀️👏🙏🥷🏻🌵
Hilarious 😆
In Asian culture, deference is demonstrated by not looking into the eyes of a superior
@@carmenbell77 but the point is that Seagal is not anyone’s superior! He, like the rest of us is just a faulty human. Thank you for your comment about the Japanese culture. 🙋♀️🙏👏
I once watched a movie where Steven Segal did a "fight" scene from a chair. You knew by watching he was so out of shape even standing up would be too much effort. Hilarious.😂
"Seagal's great contribution to the movie is to look very serious, even menacing, in closeups carefully framed to hide his double chin. I do not object to the fact that he's put on weight. Look who's talking. I object to the fact that he thinks he can conceal it from us with knee-length coats and tricky camera angles. I would rather see a movie about a pudgy karate fighter than a movie about a guy you never get a good look at."- Roger Ebert's review of Half Past Dead
I used to enjoy his movies back in the day. I remember his weight gain used to make headlines but learning about his narcissism is very very shocking.
Hi Doctor Todd! There's an anecdote where Gene Le bell performed a chokehold on him and Seagal hit him in the balls when he found out he couldn't get off of it. He was bragging about a secret infallible technique to break chokeholds. The issue was that Le bell took that low punch as a man and didn't let go Seagal, then Seagal made an incredible effort to break off and defecated his own pants. He has denied everything, he even denied knowing La Bell, or having heard about him, which frankly doesn't help. Seagal is a bad actor, a very cuestionable sportsman and a complete fiasco as a person.
Your backhanded quips are brutal, yet amazing and on point.
Love you Doc.
The best video 🌹 I've EVVVVVER listened to from Dr Grande!!
“How about that terrible actor from the 1990s that lies all the time and can’t control his temper? He’d be perfect”
I really appreciate your opinions on Seagal. Several people seemed to think his work was very artful and worthy of admiration. I like getting my own opinions validated by watching you Dr. Grande.
This was the most enjoyable analysis I've see from you yet Dr. Grande. Several laugh out loud moments. My stepmother met him once in New Orleans, and their interaction falls right in line with what you are saying about him in this video.
The saddest part is that Seagal doesn't get what a joke he is.
Yeah, the way he is so oblivious to how pathetic his superninja act comes off as combined with what an awful guy he is making people not feel bad crapping on him is pretty much a perfect storm.

The CIA has displayed such appalling judgement over the years, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did use Seagal to train their agents.
I worked at a haunted horror attraction in PA with a makeup SFX guy who worked on Fire Down Below with Seagal and said a bus full of special needs kids came to visit the set and meet him and he stormed off and refused because they didn't go through his agent or some crap. Steven is one of the weirdest dudes in Hollywood. Even once he had broken in and gone over he still kept up the shtick. He acts like he is one of the characters he portrays, which as stated above; is really the same pissed off, traumatized, master of asymmetric warfare. As an Aikidoka, this made my day. I found the joke about Steven Seagal being trained by Morihei Ueshiba's ghost particularly amusing 😄
well he is a real black belt though
Tutelage of the Dreamers
He definitely is a real black belt, although one of the Shihan in one of the social groups I frequent once mentioned that he allegedly got one of his black belt ranks because he had certain information about the Doshu's personal life. 😳 Granted though, he could have legitimately had the technical expertise for the rank, but Doshu simply refused to promote him. (Back when this event supposedly happened, there was much greater bias against promoting practitioners who were not Japanese to higher ranks.)
Regardless of whether the story is true, I thought it was hilarious.
A quick question: Would you rather be trained by the person who invented a Martial Art, or later 'Masters' who practice an improved version of the original?
@@lukeymuffler6265 it would be really neat to be trained by the founder to get the basis for the newer techniques firsthand. However, it is also interesting to see how the techniques evolved.
"Perhaps the dog set the fire. It would explain it disappearing all of a sudden." Lol 😂. You have outdone yourself once again Dr. Grande. That was hilarious. As for Steven Segal, I grew up watching his movies as a 12 - 13 year old and couldn't tell that he was a terrible actor. I just waited for him to beat up some bad guys and cheered him on. "Out For Justice" was my favorite Steven Segal movie. William Forsythe played his antagonist and he was really good in it. He kind of saved the movie with his portrayal of a drug addled unhinged psychopath on a crime spree he knew was his last. But you're right Steven Segal plays basically the same character in every movie he's in. He kind of mumble whispers to the bad guys how he's going to beat them up and then beats them up. This formula worked in the early 90s for him and his first 6 movies were ok. After that just garbage. Just trashy crap movies with plots that have been done over and over. 😟😝 Steven Segal is a little rapie too I heard. Apparently when he's aroused he does something very creepy and specific that I don't think he can control. ( Not sure exactly what it is ) A woman was able to identify this particular characteristic years ago before "Me Too" when he was being accused of rape. It proved that Steven Segal acted inappropriately with her. They settled out of court I think. So yeah Steven Segal is a slime ball and a phony. A great big phony.
Another great choice of subjects! I was hoping you'd comment on the hair developments, though.. :D
Rob Snyder told a funny story about Seagal. Steven walked out of his trailer on a movie set and said: Steven: "My God I've just read the greatest script I've ever read in my life"
Rob Snyder: "oh wow who wrote it?"
Steven: "I did"
I needed your humor, today, Dr. Grande!🤗🤗🤗
Hi Dr. Grande, thanks for your humorous analysis of Steven Segal. I enjoyed his acting in the movie 🎬 "Hard to Kill" with Kelly LeBrock. I worked as an actor in New Mexico for 5 years. He has a terrible reputation there for acting like a jerk on the set. I actually attended a cast party held in his honor. He didn't show up and my purse was stolen that night. How's that for mystical karma?
Yes! Thank you Dr. Grande!
John Wick , Jack Reacher , Rambo , they usually beat unbelievable odds , but if they get killed , the movie ends ; so it's entertainment to keep it long enough to keep the audience interested.
Not going to lie, I'm obsessed with the trainwreck that is Steven Seagal
This might be my favorite analysis of yours yet. "Overdue for retirement" was just fantastic, and accurate.
Next up, the analysis of Kelly LeBrock’s judgement of a suitable mate when she was kind of an A lister. Actually, Seagal should be given some sort of award for being a movie star at all. But he is/was a martial artist of some note at least, the main qualification for those movies. I watched his cop show once and he affected a southern drawl, wonder how that went down with the other cops.
I heard the show was a turd. Louisiana has it's own accents, none of which are southern
@@yurikendal4868 sorry should have just said he seemed to be faking accent
He spent a lot of time in Jefferson Parish. During Hurricane Katrina, witnesses often mentioned seeing him with the rescue teams.
The video is just beginning and I have my metaphorical popcorn at the ready. Oh, I hope the good doctor has turned his dry and sharp sarcasm up to 11. This topic certainly deserves it. It's ripe for the plucking. I hope the video doesn't disappoint. Also, great shirt!
Funniest analysis you've ever done Dr G, I was cracking up the whole time😆 Love your shirt🙌🌴
Savage AF 🤣 But Dr. Grande has always been funny so this isn't unusual.
@@samf.s8786 True, but he brought the zingers on full force this time😊
@@spaceforce-girlforcejjwest2048 I always thought Segal was cool, didn't know about any of this stuff til this video. So Dr G actually did him a solid just by talking about him😎
@@spaceforce-girlforcejjwest2048 Only sometimes, lol😏
Revenge of the Savaged
"You guys think you're above the law? Well you ain't above mine" - Steven Seagal
I would like to add " I'll take you to the bank Senator Trent.......to the blood bank" (drums boom)
Man, you're getting off zinger after zinger in this one! Keep up the great work, Dr. Grande! You're cracking me up over here!
Love how you can deliver those funny lines with total "deadpan" looks. :) Good ones.
