Fire emblem 4 is a prime example of great storytelling through videogames. It's so indepth and the lore is great.
Its a game I would love to see a remake for. Though I honestly wish that there wasn't so many incest references. Its everywhere. Arvis and Deirdre, Julia and Seliph, etc.
Nothing wrong whit Julia and Seliph since they don't end together, it's a bug when it's happen. And since Arvis and Deirdre brings the antichrist...
Story Telling in 4 could of been better honestly. For the time sure it's good. But in modern time could be expanded on a lot. For example, you expect me to believe Sigurd and Deidre fell in love in two turns? Come on now.
Spencer actually both fell in love at first sight but weren't bound to each other until a few months (turns) went by
Oharo Exactly! I recently started this game and I love how you know where you are on the map. It's really easy to imagine the route you're taking, as well as the time it takes to take said route. Obviously a few days or weeks passed before Sigurd met Deirdre again in the spirit forest.
It's weird for Deirdre to congratulate Seliph for killing her husband. Though said husband killed her other husband. Not to mention said husband was her brother. And now her son will kill her other son, who tried to kill her daughter and killed herself. Also, her daughter and son fell in love before learning they were siblings.
I think Deirdre needs a therapist.

Yes, Seliph and Julia start with almost maxed love parameter and it decays over turns, probably indicating first sight love, discovering they are siblings and purging the horny out of their system.

0:24 probably some other greedy Dozel nobles would have taken the Golden Axe, but Lex gets a Brave Axe. My answer though would probably have been a surprised "Wait, who the heck are you" ? or, after having beaten the game and replaying it, "Queen Rahna ? What are you doing here ?"

Let's all be honest, whether you have beaten the game or not, the name translations are probably the worst part of the game. They keep changing all the time. Then again, Awakening forgot to give their entire cast feet, so....

Not only does he not have a horse, but his walk cycle is sooooo sloooooooow.
Unfortunately I never had the heart to play as the sub characters. That way the main characters of the first generation would really have had a Downer ending since they didn't even have children!

el jinete pesado de magvel I think it’s an Irish tale. A farmer looses a tool, (can’t remember exactly what) and someone appears ( a fairy I think) and asks if what he dropped was a gold or silver tool. He tells her it’s just a normal steel one and he gets to keep all three for his honesty.

I always play games completely blind for the first time. Googling shit ruins the experience. This was truly a phenomenal game. But damn, how are you ever supposed to find these hidden events on your own?? That ring of pursuit would have been very helpful.... And then Sigurd and Deirdre's ghosts at the end of chapter 10.... That was so tear jerking. It was too good for it to have been so hidden... Completely missed that as well.
Back in the 90s the internet was very limited, so the only way to get walkthroughs or information about a game was by buying strategy guide magazines. However, in order to boost the sales of these strategy guides, developers would put cryptic or hidden stuff in their games. You weren't meant to find these secrets blindly, you were meant to buy a strategy guide to find them or by word-of-mouth with friends.
I did that with FE5. Yes, it ruined the game.
With FE4, only until the 4th or 5th round was I aware of the knight ring :)

Felicia Actually, there's a myth about the iron/silver/gold things (I forget where from) that FE4 took from, and I suppose SH3 did as well. Been a while since I played it though.
Felicia It is reference to an old fairy tale in Asian. A man go into the wood and drop his old axe into the lake. A godness appear and hold a gold axe and a silver axe and ask him which is his axe. The man say neither of them is his axe, he even say that his axe is a old and rusty axe. The godness smile and honor his truth heart so she give him both the axes and also his old axe. After this event, another man see this man carry a gold and silver axe so he try to ask where he get those axe. The man tell the other man the whole story. So the other man go to the wood the next day and do the same thing but this time when the godnees ask him he say both the axe she holding is him. The godness is angry and disappear. Till now no one have ever seen the godness again.
The tale is actually greek, though

TheUltimateNatural In a Link to the Past if you drop your items in the Fairy pond inside the cave the Fairy will ask a similar question like Lex with the Axe. There's also an Arena opponent in the Final Chapter named Mario in the ranged arena if you go with a bow user if I'm not mistaken, however that opponent doesn't have a Red and Blue color like the Super Mario we know and love.

It works with any male character. Basically the armour knight complains about being in the mountains.
