@@Hitchagood ok this is probably because I play on 360 but in my 5 ish years of playing bf4 I've seen like a whole 20 times someone camped Spawn and just to round this off of all the stuff in this game I specialized in tanks and ifv and aa so I pulled off some amazing things like sniping a attack jet out of the air
Yeah the SABOT is the best round out of all of em unless you need to engage infantry. In that case you better have a good gunner lol Cause the splash damage on the sabot is non existent. less drop, more damage, but no splash.
Back when i played on ps3 and ps4, i always ran reactive armor, but the autoloader is what makes the difference in a tank on tank engagement, and it is nice to have more often than reduce mobility hits. If you and a tank meet head to head and both fire at the same time, you will win every time with the autoloader because you're loading the 4th shot in as they fire their 3rd. Reactive armor is better if you are avoiding armor and are in close proximity to infantry where ur mostly using a machine gun. Also helps a lot with canister shells.
I love the canister shell for taking out helis especially on Golmud. Also great at taking out infantry, especially when you have sabot. Also, while I get it's for balancing purposes, I hate how SLOW all the cannon rounds are. Real APFSDS rounds are very fast, and would have very little drop even on the largest of maps. It makes sense for HE shells to be slower, but even those are pretty fast, and the icon in game is for a HEAT round, which would be almost as effective against tanks as sabot.
Yeah usually with a regular lmg secondary I'd get one or 2 hits and the enemy would scurry off. The canister shell isn't as popular but I think its easier to be accurate for one blast than trying to hit a bunny hopping engineer 3 or 4 times. And yeah if you see tank shells go off in real life itll give you goose bumps. Muzzle velocity on those things are just nuts. But I get that for the game play they slowed em down, otherwise I'd be smashing helicopters left and right. Thanks for watching!
Haha yeah I think in the air domination video we put out prior, I torched some guys tank, he hopped out, I took off and was sliding sideways down a mountain and took out a helicopter mid slide lol just apply torch and wait for mini map tank to turn white haha

Here's my loadout and I use it on every map. HE Shells: Highest splash damage of all the main shells. Yes it has a higher drop however, I never shoot tanks farther than 150-200m away so this doesnt came into play for me. I play on flags basically exclusively. Autoloader: Faster reloads and chambering between shells. Combined with the HE shells it is the fastest DPS tank loadout in the game - even faster than Autoloader AP shells. HMG: 2-3 round bursts and it is laser point accurate. Active Protection: Pretty straight forward.

And that's real 140s. Thats the only real layout for tank. Eventually for trololo purposes you can take grapeshot (you can try to Hunt for jets with it)

No its just that this is genuinely bad video, with awful advice. Theres zero mention of tank glitch shots, pillaring, proper angling, melee quick switching launchers, meta loadouts, HMG burst timings, how to effectively farm spawns and the correct tanking mindset for attacking flags and actually understanding how to play the amour piece.
It's a toss up, id say you'd have to be more aware of your surroundings, maybe with a good gunner. DPS is awesome but getting your mobility taken away is devastating. Good thing about BF4 is how balanced it is, so try both and see which you are more skilled with.
The main gun is always AP Shell, the range doesn't matter once you get used to it. You really don't need Sabot and if the enemy is too far away from you just leave him there (lol). If you play alone and love flanking Thermal Camo is the best, you can flank the enemy tanker for fun for the whole game. But if you have your teammate support autoloader is great in 1v1 situation.
Id generally agree with that. Two reasons I would run sabot is A. I find it very satisfying to snipe helis out of the sky and B. Its a lot more viable if you have a good gunner that can focus on infantry as it can be a pain to hit infantry with the sabot. My gunner hasn't been with me the last few games and I keep forgetting to switch it up to AP
I don't have a friend to play with and I find being gunner for strangers they piss off and leave me to die when I'm trying to repair them.🤬 In the end I give up repairing people.
That's why you choose other tankers... Using a mic solves it... Most any time I'm yelling is when they take off when you repair... Infuratingly noobish

Pretty good point! I've found better use from the canister in the anti infantry loadout but I did see another video that said you have to use the HMG in a specific way, basically 2 shots at a time to maintain accuracy which I never did. So I'm trying HMG more often now. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah I'd usually run ap and switch to the staff, that was if they're ducking behind cover during the fight I still have a chance for that staff to chase em down if it got close enough to em.
Sorry but I think as a gunner the soflam it the best it gives a thermal sight so you can keep your zoom I think the incendiary is overrated and I use the auto loader and 9 time out of 10 I win tank v tank sorry but if I can just put out more damage what good is reactivate armor I usually kill the other guy before I get disabled

We'd get on top of the mountain in Firestorm and just take out every helicopter that came through. I got one or 2 videos of that on here. Its was great
I can,be #1 in matches. Yet I still haven't figured out how to bomb with the frogfoot...... I,go to a lan center to play so I got it lol 35 and never been anything but engineer
@LaineHughes1 I've had issues with it intermittently. Usually it takes aiming down sights a few times to get the lock on to work at times. Sometimes it starts the lock on process immediately. Not sure about the science behind what parameters need to be checked before it'll allow you to start locking on. Usually have the most trouble with the stinger

Use canister shell in secondary. trust me:

How about autoloader? Dps is higher but is it as effective as the defence of reactive armor?
