I was looking for another episode of The Wide World of Mystery called "Distant Early Warning" with Michael Parks. I have been unable to find it but this story has the same dim lighting and dark atmosphere that I remember from that episode 45 years ago. Really made the series creepy and memorable especially when it was shown late at night. Thanks for posting
Distant Early Warning is one of the many lost installments. It hasn't aired in the US since 1978 and the master tape is believed to have been destroyed. No syndication copies have turned up since a 1988 Australian broadcast.
Susan Brown and David Lewis two years before they joined General Hospital and Kate Mulgrew right before Ryan's Hope. This is a classic soap lovers dream!
Sometimes this is the best we can get for its age and the media it was recorded on, the videotape is pre beta and vhs and newer technology can only pick up the way it outputs in clarity until Someone takes time to remaster it up
This video was cut short! There is no ending and we are left hanging mid scene. I should have known by the short length of the video. No sub and a thumbs down from me!!
Dear Lynda, thank you for your constructive criticism. The film was part of a longer series "The Wide World of Mystery" and as far as I know, this IS the end. It's supposed to be that abrupt and open and has always been that way (yes, even when it first aired in 1975.) Pretty sure the extra 10 minutes IMDb gives them are mostly credits. As for subs, the original doesn't have subs (it's from 1975!) and I personally don't have the time to write them (neither in English nor another language), but maybe a YT user finds the time to upload some ;)
That is the end. All that's missing is the end credit roll. The imdb running time is just somebody's assumption of what a 90 minute broadcast without commercials would be. Most of imdb's info on the series in general is incorrect and it's even missing about 60 episodes!
AND THAT IS WHY SHE BECAME THE CAPTAIN OF THE USS VOYAGER
I saw this when it first aired... still gives me the chils. I also saw another episode "Song of the Succubus".
One of Kathryns Holodeck adventures.

@@zmbdog Thank you for the info, much appreciated.
@@zmbdog I saw this (in Australia). I had no idea it was aired that late ('88!). It would be so awesome to be able to see this gem again.
@@zmbdog I developed a crush on Mary Frann when I watched this episode. If it truly is lost its a tragedy
@@zmbdog I remember this series. Very low budget productions, but entertaining.
Thanks for the very rare tv horror episode
A terrific and very creative story from Emmy award winner George Lefferts, "Alien Lover" could have been a Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits episode

This is bizarre! 😭
Assisti este filme a exatamente 43 anos atras e hoje dei risadas ,mas na epoca foram noites em claro, muito bom mesmo
Você lembra em que canal passou? E foi em 1975 mesmo?
It looks like this was shot on the old set of Dark Shadows
That’s what I thought, and then I saw Lela Swift’s name. She was part of Dark Shadows.
This was shown around the mid to late 90s on the U.S original scifi channel in better quality. I wonder where their copy went
the final is so epic bizarre hahaha i love it...i found today in youtube and i never was knew this movie
That's because the ending was omitted by uploader! Nothing ''epic'' there!
Do you have "Mr. and Mrs. and the Bandstand Murder"? Pls upload if you do. Thanks!
hi, do you still have this video in a better quality?

Why would anyone hurt their eyes watching this bowl of pea soup?
I wonder where her cat Herman goes to the bathroom? I guess the writers thought a litter box would be too gross, in a movie!

@@mrtelevision That was uncalled for.
That IS the actual ending...I watched it when it first aired...I was 14 or 15 and stayed up late one night.
Something else to Google, I guess.
I dimly recall "Wide World of Mystery," but I don't remember how long it ran.
1974-1978 but they changed the title to 'Mystery of the Week' in 1976.
