In 2004, Ryu Seung Min was arguably in his absolute prime, with an unstoppable forehand and lighting-quick feet.
After the Olympics, he started falling, occasionally showing an ounce of brilliance.

Ryu had a bad day,Takakiwa had a good day.Good tactic to play ryu's backhand from close to the table with big counterhits, and when Ryu change his backhand position to forhand, then Takikawa get the ball wide to ryu's forhand corner.

@SKHANDELWAL Boy you've got no idea what you are talking about. Ryu Seung Min is one of the greatest players of all time. The style that he displayed in 2004 is the highest standard of play ever achieved. Why don't you just watch and enjoy his games instead of posting silly comments?

Ryu wasn't in best form, and the loss isn't too bad. Despite losing 2-4, it was actually a pretty close match with four sets deuce (13-11, 16-14, 4-11, 13-11, 10-12, 11-7).

it's not only this time. At the Pro Tour Grand Finals this year, RSM was ahead of Bastian Steger by 10-2, and then lost (both the game and match)! How can you lose when you are ahead by 10-2 ?? 10-2!!!
When RSM is ahead he stops using his forehand and starts using backhand, to hope the other guy makes a mistake. If they start to catch up, he gets nervous and makes even more mistakes.

He said 8-2 to 10-10, because that part is not in this video.
