- This Northern Hawk Owl heard the mice under the snow and with silky smoth wings making no sound, it could locate the mouse and dive into the snow to catch it.
Recorded at 100fps 1080p with Sony a6300. Filmed in Norway 800 meters above sealevel.

That was either a very large and plump mouse or a huge rat! Amazing hunting of that beautiful owl 🦉 astounding how it can both hear and fly silently to catch its prey. Thank you for the excellent up-close footage !!
A excellent piece of videography ,well done whomever filmed it .👍👍👍👍
Great captured. Nice slow motion. A pleasure to watch.
Fantastic that it can hear a mouse underneath the snow from so far away.
They are sensory monsters, unparalleled
Clearly a rat is no mice that grow that big ... well except Mickey ... and Minnie
I think that was a vole. Sometimes called a field mouse but I think they're more closely related to lemmings.
Wonderful, very very very beautiful, and the music fits well, thank you!
Nice video , I saw my first Northern Hawk Owl today in Sirdal S.W Norway , lovely looking bird.
About sixteen years ago at my old house i remember a hawk flying onto my telephone pole and it's left talon had a snake and i thought it was the coolest thing to see while it flew away.
Nice to see in hunting like that in the snow
Big chunky meal for this tenacious owl, he deserves it. He works hard for his meals.
That’s a huge mouse
Probably a Vole.
Mouse in a rat suit.
WHEN COMMENTS ARE TURNED OFF,VIDEO IS NOT WORTH WATCHING..IJS, FOR OTHER POST.
That's why I love owls. They control the rodent population.
Why were you recording me?!
Cause you're cute!

i want to see a documentary done on this bird, to see how they live, and more so their evolutionary track..and why this owls ancestors reverted back to day hunting and if they retained the gifts of hunting at night like silent flight
From recent view, they are the closest relatives of Pygmy Owls Glaucidium, sharing with the latter general structure and habits. This lineage of owls, probably, had never been truely nocturnal.
Creation is truly amazing. Thanks for the excellent video.
Great footage - well done and thanks for sharing!
Got some great sots in Shomberg yesterday of a Northern Hawk Owl amazing.
Nice,I have found one of this in a farmhouse near to Oslo, beautiful bird.
A Mouse...? that looked like Half a Hog it caught. Beautiful Owls....they keep Rodents in check !
Thank you for the filming, but could you leave the guitar out. It ruins watching the majestic flow of the bird.
Amazing captured!!!!

What is the Nortern HAWK OWL in German: Sperbereule
Just think, rodents travel under the snow to avoid being detected and yet with an owl it doesn't matter
Who else thought the title said owl catches moose then click to find out it was mouse 😂
Ahh, possibly a rat ? Or that’s a very big mouse!
That mouse never heard or saw it coming
Wow God is a genius! And it shows He provides for us all

Owl- Silent killing machines
Thank you, superb vid, superb owl!
Its so cool, its different from other strigidae, it nearly resembles a hawk when flying.
Yes, in fact it is the only diurnal one, out of 200+ species
@@luis16467 isn’t short-eared owl and snowy owl also diurnal?
@@ajeramirez6236 Other owls (briefly: those with yellow eyes) can be active during the day, especially if they have owlets to feed. But the surnia ulula (northern hawk owl) is the only diurnal bird in the strigidae family
