The fact that there were so many adults willing to participate in such horrific actions with a child is atrocious. This is all just so tragic. My heart goes out to everyone. Bobby’s mother, Bobby, Lisa…. All the children… so awful.
So is there really no action taken against them at all? They were literally proven to run underaged prostitution in court but they just ignore it to punish just Lisa?
@@nakeemasmith4716 they did get away with it in this case. And just looking at the cases of CSA that have come out (eg boy scouts, catholic church) in the past decade or so, it's clear that a lot of people do get away with it A school near me had a sports coach back in the 80s that even kids from other schools knew was dangerous. I read in an article about him (now that people are talking about it) that one time he approached a kid from **a different school** with a first aid kit during a rugby match and the kid yelled at him "don't touch me, you p3do". Every single person knew what he was, but he never faced any repercussions and kept working at the school for over a decade.
@@topsi91 BPD is most commonly caused by childhood abuse and will absolutely change a child's development. And there was accounts from other people, I highly doubt so many people would lie and make up this kind of trauma.

I think the saddest part of this case aside from being the tragic death of Bobbie, but it's the fact that Lisa was the only one punished. Her mother, her father, her stepfather(s), her stepbrother etc. Every single one of them that abused her got away with what they did. It's disgusting and it truly makes me feel so enraged. Lisa deserved to be locked up for the rest of her life, but so did everyone else who abused her.
this entire story is absolutely terrifying, i was on the verge of tears the whole time and then suddenly i hear “okay well, enjoy your small baby i guess” and laughed through the tears
this is one of the only cases where I heard the killer’s backstory and came to a level of understanding. NO EXCUSE for what she did, but I understand why she did it, and my heart breaks for how horrible her life was. Unimaginable. But I’m so devastated that the whole thing ended up with Bobby losing her life that she had built. The whole thing just makes me question humanity.
i don’t understand why she did it to an innocent person, someone who hurt her yes, but someone that did nothing to her i have no understanding of that.
She had a horrible back story but nothing explains why she did what she did. If she killed one of her abusers, her back story would explain why she did what she did, but she killed an innocent person, to fulfill only her own needs. This episode is making way too much of a victim out of the killer. Lisa knew she wasn’t pregnant. She is NOT the victim of this story. She is A victim, but she is not THE victim. She knew she wasn’t pregnant bc she had lied about ultrasounds and stuff. She knew she couldn’t be pregnant. She knew she was sterilized.
"Enjoy your small baby I guess" thank you for bringing a little smile on my face through this horrible case. Keep up the good work and have a good day!
The really scary and horrifying thing for me, is the fact that level of serial abuse would not be known about if she hadn't done something horrible herself. No one went to prison for those crimes, just to think of the other people who have gone through similar things and nobody knows as they were failed at every possible step by family, friends and the authorities.
@@Sarah.smith22 she also was born with brain damage from fetal alcohol abuse. I think we can’t do comparing if you’re not exactly the same as her…..I’ve had awful things happen but I wasn’t born with that much of a disadvantage, even if you had all of that, you don’t know the individual and how all of that can affect a young person. Just say you know what happened to you and how that affected you. You are different. We don’t need oppression olympics today
@sewer~rat It definitely doesn't excuse what Lisa did. Her whole life was incredibly sad and unfair, and the people who abused her should be held accountable as they are a danger to society. However, what Lisa went on to do was even more heinous. She took another woman's life. Bobbie Jo's daughter had to grow up without her mother. Nothing excuses that.
Its so difficult to think that all of those adults in Lisa's life were okay with doing such horrible things to a child. I cant imagine that this was suggested to multiple men by her own mother and they all jumped in on it and not one of them reported it. So sad.
@@Melaninsensations they didn't just fail her, they all tortured her. The ones that failed her were the teachers, the ones in her personal life did way beyond just fail her

I don't think I've ever seen Eleanor as disturbed over a sentence as she was over Lisa's sentence. I feel like they were all victims in this is so sad. I hope the baby girls life has been happy and the dad and Bobby's family have been able to heal. I can't help but feel bad for Lisa too tho.
@Sian Olivieri I agree. What she did was f**ked up, and that poor family deserves justice. But Lisa was failed every step of the way as well. She deserved to pay for what she did yes, but death was a bit too much. I've seen ppl do worse for no reason and get a slap on the wrist for it.
I don't feel bad for killers. Sure, Lisa went through hell, it doesn't excuse killing an innocent young woman for very selfish reasons. In America, there is an abundance of free mental health resources that apparently Lisa never sought.
@@drea1976 It's not that easy. My stepdad, my rapist, a pedophile, did try to look for help before he did what he did to me. I fucking hate the dude. I fantasise about his death often. But I feel bad for the lad, and the ugly experiences he had when looking for help. He told my mom they werent very empathetic to his story... Similar to Lisa's. And while Lisa killed someone, she didn't do what was done to her, she reacted to a threat from someone of her past. I don't think she should've died. I think she needed help. I think she deserved to live, even locked up, with help and feeling better. The prison system is fucked up and needs to be changed. People that do what Lisa's parents did or what my step dad did would never get the death sentence. I feel empathy for victims. The mother, the baby, her husband and Lisa all deserve empathy.
This story just breaks my heart. Such a caring woman just trying to start a beautiful family. I can't imagine her mother was ever the same after seeing her baby girl so horribly mutilated. God bless this family.

it’s a horrific crime, but then executing her is so sad. mental health is so important. her teachers and family shit let this go on so long should be ashamed.
Ah bon?

My mom had told me a story about a lady she knew that really wanted to have kids and she had a phantom pregnancy. She grew a little belly and actually looked slightly pregnant. Even showed fake sonogram telling everyone she was having twins. I guess they were all at a rodeo one day when she went into "labor" and had an ambulance take her to the hospital. That's when it all came out that she wasn't ever pregnant and was not mentally stable. I feel so bad for that poor woman. RIP Bobbie Jo you deserved to be a happy healthy mother.
When I was in high school, one of the ladies at the place I worked part time did the same thing. Her boyfriend had broken up with her and she convinced him and everyone that she was pregnant. She had the belly. People threw baby showers for her. She'd tell us what the doctor said at her appointments, which was obviously either made up or in her head. I didn't work over the Christmas holidays, but, when I came back, I asked if she'd had her baby. That's when they told me that it had been an hysterical pregnancy.
This case is so terrible can't even help but to feel for Lisa too. What else is horrific is the things the ex is doing to her all 4 kids now that she's gone.
I wish that there was someway to get legislation to pass that would allow states to go after people that victimize someone so horribly that this ends up being all the reason, ultimately, why they commit such heinous acts. It’s not right and it’s not fair. This kind of stuff just keeps happening and people keep getting away with it and then we have more and more sick people running our streets, committing crimes and it feels like nothing is truly being done about the root cause. It’s sickening and it’s so freaking sad. This case was just devastating. All the way around.

My heart goes out to Bobby Jo's family. This was a tragedy that could have been avoided if one person in Lisa's young life had just stepped up for her and helped her.
I am no way excusing what Lisa did, but my God. Can you blame her for turning out the way she did? It is so very sad that she wasn't able to get the help that she so desperately needed. All of this might have been avoided had just one person actually done something to help her out.
Yes, yes I can! I was horribly abused as a child, indescribable things. You are not your raising! It's an excuse and a cop out to use your childhood as a reason to do horrid things! You can rise above anything you just have to be willing to not be a victim!
What Montgomery went through as a child and teenager is horrible and heartbreaking but still, it did not give her the right to kill Bobbie Jo and steal her baby as her own.
Of course it's not an excuse..it is an explanation though and honestly, I wish that Lisa's monstrous father, mother stepfather and her other abusers could get life in prison as well. They made her what she became and the fact that they raped, tortured and pimped out a child is worthy of a long, painful end. Those people are monsters who made a monster and if there was such a thing as karma, they'd suffer for what they did to the child that Lisa was. She of course needs to be punished for her horrifying crimes, and her evil family should to.

hearing what happened to lisa makes me physically sick, i almost clicked out of the video just because the thought of it is so infuriating, the fact that her own mother was okay with this is sick
As a person who has listened to a lot of abuse, crime, kidnapping etc. stories, I've not ever listened to something like Lisa's backstory, especially with the part of alcohol at 11. I feel so bad for her and Bobbie
It brought me to tears to hear that Lisa finally found the courage to tell her mother, hoping that she will help and save her as any mother should, only to find out that she was in on everything. A moment of hope that only brought further pain. So many of these murders can be traced back to abusers. There is no excuse for what she did to Bobby Jo, never. But I can’t help but empathize and feel heartbroken for an individual who was so brutally abused basically her whole life. Such a tragic story from every angle.
Thank you for actually acknowledging Lisa's trauma. You can feel for her without condoning what she did and I think that part gets neglected too often. She was an innocent child that was put through literal hell. A lot of adults that come from abusive homes are more often the ones that never do it themselves, but sometimes, it can do something like what happened to Lisa. Again, not condoning her actions or defending what she did. I'm devastated for the innocent baby that she was.
Imagine if she had never been caught, and the daughter would have lived her life thinking that woman was her real mother, and if she was ever caught, the daughter would have had to find out the horrific truth. Thank god she was caught.
Lisa's backstory is absolutely terrifying, no one should go through that, especially not at that age. Obviously it's no excuse for what she did, but it's very sad that she had to go through that.
I heard this saying yesterday, “DNA loads the bullet, environment pulls the trigger.” Basically our genetics (inter generational trauma, mental illness, etc) sets the foundation, and our experiences (traumas and life style) truly shape who we become. I’m studying to be a teacher and hopes that I can make a difference in at least ONE student like my teachers have done for me.. so it breaks my heart when I hear of crimes that include helpless teachers. There’s not a lot we can do ourselves but it takes one phone call to family services to prevent tragedy..
My heart breaks for Bobby & the baby, but I can't help but feel heartbroken for Lisa too. I hope everyone in this story is doing well now and at peace 💔
Man… idk what to say, I’ve never been so freaking speechless. I hope Lisa’s mother gets what she deserves in the most malicious way possible as well as her mother’s ex-husbands that abused her! R.I.P Bobbie, she didn’t deserve to lose her life... 😢 Such a tragic story/case all around!
After hearing the extreme level of abuse she went through, it's no wonder she thought she could do what she did and just live a life. No one else in her life was ever punished. Edit : I'm not sure how you think this is a justification, but no I'm not saying what she did was fine. The fact I have to state this is baffling. Also when you say she knew right from wrong, she had brain damage she was also suffering from other conditions, so I think it can easily be argued to say she had diminished responsibility. Again that is not justification, that just means her sentence would be taken in a different location that would provide the correct care.

Unfortunately, the same thing happened in my hometown in 2019. The Savannah Greywind case. Thank you Eleanor for all of your respect you give to victims 💕
That's a tragic case too. I always think of the Dynel Lane case, where the pregnant mother SURVIVED! Her baby girl didn't though. So sad. You can watch the mom's testimony.
So, talking about the part of having one twin die, that actually was my case. My twin sister passed away at 17 weeks and I was then born at 29 weeks. To cope, my mother refused to actually look at my sister because she was too afraid to bond. She ended up donating her to science.
I’m so sorry your mother and you (on some level, it’s been proven twins have more of a bond than other siblings) went through that. My condolences and I hope you and your mother have found peace.

Thank gods im not alone in giggling at that😂! I’ve heard this case before and it never gets easier, but it’s those little nuggets of lightness that make Eleanor’s videos some of my favorites ❤ eternal peace to BobbieJo🙏🏻
I feel so deeply for Lisa. It’s so sad that all the adults in her life were willing to jump in on all the terrible things happening to her, but it’s so terrible that Bobby got dragged into it. This is such a sad case.
This case is so so sad. Lisa's step dad also slammed her head against a concrete floor causing brain damage. She was so so let down by any authority figure in her life. It's not an excuse for what she did. But it's awful for her and for Bobby Jo's family
Out of all the stories I’ve listened to on this channel and I’ve listened to them all, this is the most horrific thing I’ve ever heard, even Lisa I actually feel so heartbroken for her. It’s so awful and damn right devastating. Yes what she did was horrific literally sickening but Lisa’s story is so horrible I can’t actually help but feel sorry for her though, like I’ve never heard anything so bad from the murderer side of things my god.
I can't help but wonder what the ex is putting Lisa 2 kids through and the warped thought she had to save her own kids was to murder another woman to steal her's. Now he has all 4
I feel like her abusers are definitely indirectly responsible for this murder, most of all her ex husband/stepbrother. Poor other kids with her as a mother and that abuser as a father.
Okay I don't think I have ever heard a more horrid situation of child abuse. What she did was wrong but does she even know the difference between right and wrong? I'm not finished with the video yet but that is horribly sad
In Colorado, there was a scarily similar case where this pregnant woman was lured to a basement as she thought there was free baby clothes at the perpetrators location. The attacker took the woman's baby from her womb and she was left to die in the basement but she was super lucky and survived the ordeal, but unfortunately her baby didn't survive :(
That story is so crazy. How the mother fought her off and eventually crawled to the phone and out of the basement to the cops while her uterus and intenstines were literally outside of her body.... she had such a will to live and she fought so hard. So sad her baby didn't make it.
i have heard so many stories of this happening. just yesterday a woman was found dead and her baby and she was lured by a fake facebook profile. ashley bush
This one was heartbreaking, on both ends. Obviously a monstrous act, of course she shouldn’t have ever been let out. Society could’ve had some compassion for her.
A similar case to Lisa’s is now happening in Greece and it’s so disturbing. A married couple were grooming and abusing their own daughter who is now 12 y.o sooo frustrating. How on earth can you heal from that? The ‘positive’ thing is that the little girl named everyone involved so it’s gonna be a long trial. I wish the best for the little girl
OMG! The abuse the one girl went through is absolutely horrifying! I don't condone what she did but I can see why after hearing what she had to go through.
What a tragic life. It is heartbreaking that children are born into situations like this and treated so cruelly. The ripple effects of abuse like what Lisa experienced is devastating. I am sorry and very sad that Bobby Jo, her daughter and her loved ones were robbed of the lives they should have had together.
“Enjoy your small baby” made me laugh more than it reasonably should’ve 😅😂 this is one of those cases I’ve always found very interesting, especially due to Lisa’s background and how everything is not exactly “black and white” as it may seem. Great coverage on this, Eleanor-your empathy shines through as always. Condolences to this family & RIP to Bobbi Jo. ❤✊🏻
There are some sick, twisted people in this world. I can't imagine putting any child, especially my own, through what Lisa's mother did. Awful. That doesn't excuse what Lisa did to Bobby-Jo, but it explains a lot. Rest in Peace Bobby-Jo.
This is the same town Ken Rex McElroy was from. That town has a lot of issues. Especially after he was killed. They all know who killed him but no one would snitch and ever since then that town has never been the same.
This story is so heart aching. For both Lisa and the victim. If somebody listened and helped Lisa a little, maybe things could’ve turned out differently. She was born into the abuse, set up for failure since the beginning.
"Pour lisa et la victime" oui, oui Lisa en premier logique. Le bourreau devient victime avant cette pauvre femme qui n'avait rien à voir la dedans et s'est faite ouvrir le ventre vivante et arraché son foetus de ses entrailles. Pfff je comprendrai jamais cette victimisation indécente d'une criminelle pareille.
I get why they rejected the insanity plea, even though she was diagnosed with conditions it asks about her mental health AT THE TIME and at that time she had motive and pre planning, she had to to make sure her kids weren't taken away and was googling all the things, it wasn't that she planned to look at puppies, saw she was pregnant and had a breakdown - she knew what she was doing
But the death penalty?? That’s the problem. They gave a mentally ill person the death penalty. There are several MIssouri serial killers who sit in prison with no threat of death. Take, for example, Lorenzo Gilyard. He murdered at least 15 women. Officially, 13 women but there are definitely two more. I know because one of them was my sister. He is not insane. He’s just a murderous rapist psychopath. He sits in prison while Lisa Montgomery was killed by the state? Screw that!
This situation really showcases a failure of the system. The teachers at her school should have been properly trained in child safeguarding so that social services could be alerted and Lisa given the care she needs. If that had happened as it should have done and Lisa had gotten early intervention for her mental health, I'm sure this murder would not have taken place.
Lisa is about the same age as me. Back in those days, people just didn't get involved with what goes on behind closed doors. For outsiders to get involved back then, a kid would have to constantly be black and blue, unset broke bones... just seriously outward signs and even then it might have just been whispered to somebody about it. Then....IF.... authorities got involved. We didn't have a social system like we do now... which is highly flawed. Finally, decades later, teachers are taught about abuse, different signs, symptoms, ect. and are compelled to report it. Sadly, it's just how it used to be. People raised their kids how they saw fit and it was no one else's business.
Yes but even when she was old enough to fend for herself she still didn't take herself to therapy and get professional help for the problems that she obviously had. She chose to neglect her own mental health too, I wouldn't put it down to only the teachers.
@@motherthorns yes but my point is as a child there should have been early intervention so that she would already be getting help by the time she became an adult.
@@xBoringPerfectionx I agree but she also could've gotten help when she grew up too, that's what I'm saying. Not only did the system neglect her and her needs but she also neglected her own too.

I remember this case on Deadly Women. I felt bad for Lisa's new husband and her children because Lisa tricked them into believing that she was "pregnant" It really surprised me how scary that Lisa really fooled everyone. Lisa's ex-husband Carl was going to tell Lisa's new husband about the phony pregnant lies before Bobbie's death.
This is the definition of heartbreaking, this case really opens your eyes to realise what a cruel world we live in and how lucky we are not to be in Lisa’s position (hopefully). Wishing you lot well 🖖
Hearing about this case made me more nervous during pregnancy. Knowing there are people out there that would be prepared to do such a horrific thing. Especially to a woman who's in a vulnerable state. Yeah Lisa went through things no one should go through but cutting poor Bobbie and stealing her baby is just sickening. Going through trauma doesn't give you an excuse to butcher someone.
Hi Eleanor! Can you please do Savannah Greywind's case soon? She was an 8 months pregnant native american woman when she disappeared. The story is full of craziness and (in my opinion) some truly horrific police work. But it also has a happy ending! Would mean a lot to see this case covered. @@love13f they probably mentioned it because there is a large problem where native american women specifically have been going missing or been murdered in north america. The murder rate for indigenous women is 10 times higher than the united state’s average for people living off of reservations, and the third leading cause of death for them. bringing attention to cases involving the death or disappearance of native american women is important
Her back story is tragic and what she went through was horrific. That being said I wanted to touch on the subject of her insanity plea being rejected. The mental illnesses she was diagnosed with (at least the ones you mentioned) are not recognised as illnesses that alter someone’s judgment and cognitive awareness of what they’re doing, even during a breakdown someone with BPD is still considered aware (or lucid) at least legally. Same goes for depression. Had it been a DID diagnosis, or schizophrenia, or if she had been in psychosis at the time of the crime, maybe the insanity plea would’ve been accepted. The only diagnosis you’ve mentioned that MAYBE could’ve played in favour of insanity plea was the FAS, which can indeed cause severe cognitive and behavioural impairment in some cases, but even then idk if it would be enough to consider someone not responsible. It’s terrifying however to see how she was failed as a child, by literally everyone.. Before anyone comes at me, I do have BPD and other mh diagnosis, and have an extensive experience/knowledge/understanding of many diagnosis so I’m not just talking out of nowhere
Imagine going to work and getting home just to know your life was destroyed? I mean, when Bobby's husband left, and got the news his pregnant wife was dead, his world must've fall apart
I guess the fact she planned it all was the point to consider for not allowing her the insanity plea, she might had PTSD and other disorders, but she proved to have the mental faculties for the crime and was fully aware of her actions. I'm not a legal expert, tho' if anyone else can shed some light, it'll be cool. Thank you for the video, El!
@Eden Yes and no and she planned it for quite a while. I'm not and expert, but driving a car for 3 hours TWICE to the victim's destination while in psychosis seems pretty impossible to me, but what do I know?
As sad and horrible as Lisa's life was I believe her sentence was so severe because she knew exactly what she was doing, and why she was doing it. It was premeditated murder an kidnapping. She spent so much time researching, making a fake identity online, and stocking out victims. She knew she was going to have to murder for that baby. Her abuse is an explanation but no where near an excuse.
Exactly. Diminished capacity is for people that can't understand that their actions have consequences, and insanity is for people who have had a break from reality... it doesn't work for people that happen to have a disgustingly sad reality. She knew her actions would have consequences that *might* get her out of a bad situation and was willing to kill to keep custody of her kids.
Jesus Christ…this case was so heavy. I genuinely empathise with Lisa, I can relate to a lot of her issues and while her past and mental health issues don’t excuse her actions I do feel like it explains why she did what she did and I think she genuinely thought she was doing the right thing, I’m not even sure if she was aware of what she doing, and if she was, after the abuse she suffered I imagine she grew desensitised to violence and didn’t realise just how serious her actions were. I hope the baby is living a full and beautiful life and I hope she knows her mother loved her very much.
I don't think she thought she was doing the right thing as you say... but I do believe she she was desensitized to violence and may not have even been aware that what she was doing or that it was wrong.
Just because someone has mental illnesses doesn’t mean they’re automatically gonna get the insanity plea , This attack was Obviously Premeditated and deliberate! That’s usually what they look at ! So it makes sense that she didn’t get the insanity plea
Yeah that makes sense, i think the only thing that would have helped would be putting her in psychiatric care, tho i am not sure if it would work in practice
My heart goes out to baby and Dad. I hope they hold on to each other all the more. Some people don't appreciate what they have, I'm sure her father loves her more than she can imagine. I also feel terrible for Lisa's children. I hope where ever they are, someone is looking after them and helping them cope with the grief. All I know is they lost their mother too
I'm from Missouri & I remember when all of this was happening. It was just unbelievable that they were able to find the baby safe and alive. By the way, SKIDMORE, MISSOURI is also very well known for another infamous murder of the town bully, and there is also a bizarre missing person story of a young man named Branson Perry.
Yup!! Ken Rex. It seems like that town was cursed after that incident. He deserved every bit of what he got but it seems the people there paid the price for keeping Ken Rex’s murderer a secret. And they shouldn’t have.
It's so sad that Lisa was failed so heavily that she ended up murdering. Yet without this event in her life no one would have ever known the true horror a little girl lived in. The system failed Lisa and I think to a point that they also failed Bobby. Unfortunately trauma and pain was all Lisa ever knew until she got someone who loved her and treated her with respect. I think she didn't know how to handle that desire to have everything with another person because she loved him and he loved her back. Thank you for sharing these women's story though it was definitely a hard one to listen to. ❤️
Lisa’s story from birth til she murdered that innocent woman was extremely heartbreaking. And yes she has Depression, BPD, PTSD and the one that made her think she was pregnant is no excuse for murdering a innocent woman and cutting her baby out of her. I was diagnosed almost 12 years ago with Depression, BPD, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety and Bipolar disorder and I would never even think about murdering an innocent woman that I didn’t even know to cut her baby out of her, all because she needed to cover up a lie. Mental Health is not an excuse for people doing horrific things to someone that did absolutely nothing to them.
Hugs to you. Yeah I know her diagnosis is no excuse. I myself have BPD and depresssion. And I have to say I get terrifies when I hear cases when they mention BPD. As I have seen so many people who don't know that diagnosis at all (But think they do) and therefor think their actions are to blame because of BPD. I know severla with BPD, and talk to many after I got my diagnosis 16 years ago (But I most likely have had it for at lest 26 years) Most of us could not hurt a fly, and are more a danger to ourselves in some cases, than to others (high suicide rate) But I still see several people compare us to narcissists. That hurt som much even though they are strangers. Hobby psychologists only makes it worse. Spreading wrongfully fear about us "borderlions". They don't seen to understand that BPD alone don't make you mean or violent. Combine it together with other severe diagnosises and that persons personality, and then you might have that dangerous combo. Even now with all the "hype" around Jeffrey Dahmer, it scares me. Since he had BPD amongst other things. If someone who reads this don't understand BPD, I hope they would take their time to do their research before judging, and even better, get to know one person with BPD to learn how this diagnosis works for that person. We are all different with a few things that many of us have in common, but most of us are just kind, caring people.
@@MaidenViking_ exactly!! I do everything for everyone all the time and I hate it cause I still try to help ppl that don’t give a damn about me. And most of not all Serial Killers have something wrong with their frontal lobe also it’s not just mental health it’s damage to their brain.
I can't stand you people. No one is using it as a fucking excuse. I'm diagnosed with a lot of those things too and guess what.. I also wouldn't murder somebody! Congrats about being a functioning member of fucking society. Lisa's mental illnesses were only a small, SMALL fraction of it. She has multiple traumatic brain injuries from her abuse. Did you literally hear of any of the torture she went through? Psychologists have said she has the PTSD seen in tortured war veterans. There is a 184 page long document detailing her background and the horrors she went through. NOT AN EXCUSE. But an explanation. It says a lot about someone when they can't feel empathy for a poor little girl going through years of torturous sexual, physical, and mental abuse. She grew up to be a horrible woman... but she was doomed from the start. No person can go through what she did, without any help or therapy, and come out as a functioning member of society. Not all people with mental illnesses are killers, but damn near every killer has at least one mental illness. Not all people who have been abused grow up to become killers, but DAMN NEAR every killer was abused growing up.
Boy I thought there was nothing I hadn't heard, nothing that would shock me..... boy o boy. This is possibly the worst thing I've ever heard. As bad as it sounds you can't help but feel so sorry for Lisa. That nobody believed or helped her is utterly heartbreaking
Poor Bobby, just horrible what happened to her. I would really like to hear what the Bobby's husband felt about the death sentence. Personally, a woman who has endured such trauma is obviously not thinking in a normal way. Locked up, and given psychiatric treatment is in my opinion the best option for someone like Lisa. This type of abuse to children causes their brains to be completely scrambled. Just a horrific case all around.
this is so heartbreaking. My heart goes out to Bobbi and her family and Lisa and the life she could never live because of all the horrible abusers she was surrounded by.
She couldn't even apologize at the very end. And we really only have her saying she was abused. Funny how she was able to function in daily life and all that came up as an excuse for her crimes.
Everything in this case leaves a sick taste in your mouth, from the abuse, the mur der, the defence team and that Jury. How in the world can so many disgusting people be attracted together, where you feel sort of idk sorry for a literal murd erer.
This is so sad. At first I felt really bad for Bobbie and Bobbie only, but when I heard about Lisa's past... that's just so sad. I don't think she could have gotten the death penalty after looking at her past. I feel sorry for anyone involved in this case. 😥
Pauvre Lisa? Ah et moi qui croyait que la victime était cette pauvre jeune femme a qui Lisa a ouvert le ventre vivante pour lui arracher son foetus tout ça de manière prémédité. Ah mais c'est ce qui s'est passé.
This one hit close to home. I remember when this happened. I actually was also 8 months pregnant in December 2004. It was incredibly scary because many of us were buying/selling baby stuff on Craigslist.
Lisa didn't deserve any of the abuse but that doesn't justify her killing an innocent woman and taking her child. I really wished she had gotten mental help and all of this could have been avoided.
The fact that there were so many adults willing to participate in such horrific actions with a child is atrocious. This is all just so tragic. My heart goes out to everyone. Bobby’s mother, Bobby, Lisa…. All the children… so awful.
They're EVERYWHERE. I keep a close eye on my kids as a result.
I can't fathom doing what her "mother" did. That's the worst one of the bunch, IMHO.
I don’t know why they think they can get away with this
Because they frequently do. Much more often than not.
So is there really no action taken against them at all? They were literally proven to run underaged prostitution in court but they just ignore it to punish just Lisa?
@@nakeemasmith4716 they did get away with it in this case. And just looking at the cases of CSA that have come out (eg boy scouts, catholic church) in the past decade or so, it's clear that a lot of people do get away with it
A school near me had a sports coach back in the 80s that even kids from other schools knew was dangerous. I read in an article about him (now that people are talking about it) that one time he approached a kid from **a different school** with a first aid kit during a rugby match and the kid yelled at him "don't touch me, you p3do". Every single person knew what he was, but he never faced any repercussions and kept working at the school for over a decade.
My god. Lisa’s backstory is absolutely heartbreaking, but it is no excuse for what she did. This is a very sad case.
Who knows if it's a real story or she made it up
@@topsi91 BPD is most commonly caused by childhood abuse and will absolutely change a child's development.
And there was accounts from other people, I highly doubt so many people would lie and make up this kind of trauma.

@@topsi91 Hard to say about the whole backstory but i feel like the part with her brother could be true atleast to some extend.

I cackled when she said it!

Hahahhahaha same
this is one of the only cases where I heard the killer’s backstory and came to a level of understanding.
@@aprilstar1682I agree. It would be different if it was someone who had hurt her but not an innocent woman. She planned it.

The really scary and horrifying thing for me, is the fact that level of serial abuse would not be known about if she hadn't done something horrible herself. No one went to prison for those crimes, just to think of the other people who have gone through similar things and nobody knows as they were failed at every possible step by family, friends and the authorities.

Alex wasn't saying she shouldn't have gone to jail. The people who abused her should ALSO face the consequences for what they did, is the point.
Its so difficult to think that all of those adults in Lisa's life were okay with doing such horrible things to a child. I cant imagine that this was suggested to multiple men by her own mother and they all jumped in on it and not one of them reported it. So sad.

I don't feel bad for killers. Sure, Lisa went through hell, it doesn't excuse killing an innocent young woman for very selfish reasons. In America, there is an abundance of free mental health resources that apparently Lisa never sought.

Ah bon? Après l'horreur qu'elle a commise sur une innocente? Je ne crois pas. Si ce que cette criminelle avait subit durant son enfance avait un lien avec sa victime, sa condamnation serait triste mais la ce n'est pas le cas. Aucune excuse. La victime ici est Bobbie. My mom had told me a story about a lady she knew that really wanted to have kids and she had a phantom pregnancy. She grew a little belly and actually looked slightly pregnant. I believe her childhood was absolutely horrible but there should be no sympathy for her because she killed another person.
Oh that's awful, please tell me the attacker got caught and went to prison for it.
i have heard so many stories of this happening. just yesterday a woman was found dead and her baby and she was lured by a fake facebook profile. ashley bush
This one was heartbreaking, on both ends. Obviously a monstrous act, of course she shouldn’t have ever been let out. Society could’ve had some compassion for her.
Compassion? nah she got what she deserved, like it or not.
She should have been put in a mental institution not executed
A similar case to Lisa’s is now happening in Greece and it’s so disturbing. A married couple were grooming and abusing their own daughter who is now 12 y.o sooo frustrating. How on earth can you heal from that? The ‘positive’ thing is that the little girl named everyone involved so it’s gonna be a long trial. I wish the best for the little girl
What's the names? I'm curious to look up the case
Thank you for bringing awareness to such a horrific murder.
On another note, that lipstick looks stunning on you!
I’m sorry this is such a serious case but “enjoy your small baby” had me in absolute hysterics!
Heartbreaking 😢 Lisa’s childhood was horrific. Evil evil people. So sad what happened to Bobby rip x
May the dog rest in peace. Nobody talks about that little angel, but I hope that pup is in a better place bc the world is not a safe place
FFS all this horror and abuse and you feel sorry for the dog !
Why are dog people like this?
@@barbarahogan2604 yes exactly! I feel sorry for the dog because nobody else does

Agreed
I mean yeah no one is denying she should be in prison forever but I think the death penalty is excessive given the circumstances
@@Sarah.smith22 I see your tagged in multiple comments, but your comments are deleted. Why, what happened?
But the death penalty?? That’s the problem. They gave a mentally ill person the death penalty. There are several MIssouri serial killers who sit in prison with no threat of death. Take, for example, Lorenzo Gilyard. He murdered at least 15 women. Officially, 13 women but there are definitely two more. I know because one of them was my sister. He is not insane. He’s just a murderous rapist psychopath. He sits in prison while Lisa Montgomery was killed by the state? Screw that!
To be clear, I don't approve of the death penalty, I approve of not accepting an insanity plea
I almost never feel bad for the murderer in these cases.. but this one is truly heartbreaking in different ways for both of these women.
@@evangelinebelami8716 as a teacher myself, I just find it so awful. How could you see this clearly abused little girl and do nothing? 😢
When you were talking about Lisa’s past I almost forgot she was the offender in this story. So sad!
My heart is completely broken 💔 from hearing poor lissas story. I broke down in tears. That was horrible. Some humans can be horrible people. Especially the man that hurt Lisa. May she rest in peace and be forgiven.
That's where I first heard about it too!
This is the definition of heartbreaking, this case really opens your eyes to realise what a cruel world we live in and how lucky we are not to be in Lisa’s position (hopefully). Wishing you lot well 🖖
thanks to elenor for her hard work. rest in peace to the victim! :(
Hearing about this case made me more nervous during pregnancy.
The childhood story is actually mind blowing I can barely comprehend that. :( like what kind of a horrible mother does that to their child.
I feel really sorry for both families. Happy that the baby survived and that she is healthy and with her dad. Thanx for another great case Eleanor
Hi Eleanor! Can you please do Savannah Greywind's case soon? She was an 8 months pregnant native american woman when she disappeared. The story is full of craziness and (in my opinion) some truly horrific police work. But it also has a happy ending! Would mean a lot to see this case covered. I lived nearby when it happened and I think about her baby often. Really impacted our community.
What does her being a native American has to do with the case.
@@love13f because missing and endangered Native American women is a serious problem in this country. There are multiple organizations trying to bring attention to this issue and I believe Eleanor has supported a charity previously for missing and endangered Native American women (although I could be wrong and thinking of another true crime youtuber). However, judging from your username you likely weren't looking for an actual reason, and were just trying to find something to be mad at.
@@meganwoehl5277 well i genuinely was trying to know why you mentioned her being a native American but ig you already judged me by my username
It's just a description dude?
your interpretation of the pastor telling her to “enjoy her small baby, I guess” made me genuinely laugh so much
Her back story is tragic and what she went through was horrific.
This was a hard case for everyone involved, I can't believe in her whole life no one could help Lisa from the constant abuse. My god.
such an amazing thing that the baby survived with no health issues.
Absolutely heartbreaking childhood that Lisa had. Doesn’t excuse her actions. But wow.
@@lj0727 i agree 100%
Just because someone has mental illnesses doesn’t mean they’re automatically gonna get the insanity plea , This attack was Obviously Premeditated and deliberate! That’s usually what they look at ! So it makes sense that she didn’t get the insanity plea
that's true but the death penalty is a bit overkill for someone like her.
All I know is they lost their mother too
Every aspect of this story is heart wrenching
I never cry because of these videos but my god Lisa’s life made me so upset I cried that is just so awful
Branson actually is Bobbie’s cousin
Yup!! Ken Rex. It seems like that town was cursed after that incident. He deserved every bit of what he got but it seems the people there paid the price for keeping Ken Rex’s murderer a secret. And they shouldn’t have.
@@hannah.vallee whoa whoa whoa so there was ANOTHER town bully there besides Ken Rex? Jesus, what a mess of a town.
I'm sorry to hear that but I think people react to things like abuse differently 😢 you're so strong though.
My heart breaks for Bobbie Jo and her family every time I hear this story 💔

this is so heartbreaking.

Lisa didn't deserve any of the abuse but that doesn't justify her killing an innocent woman and taking her child. I really wished she had gotten mental help and all of this could have been avoided.
Or if her family had just taken care of her then she wouldn't even need mental help. This case is so tragic.
