Honestly, him putting her in his truck & calling 911 en route is NOT that strange when you live in the middle of nowhere. Meeting an ambulance halfway is sometimes the ONLY way to save a life. Edit: Holy Cats! Over 9,500 likes & over 150 comments!!! Wow! Thx everybody!
I was thinking the same thing. Like growing up in a small town, it could take an hour or more for an ambulance to even arrive, and that’s way to long to wait around while a loved one is hurt or dying. So him getting her in the truck and leaving before calling the ambulance as he’s leaving makes literally so much sense to me.
RIGHT!! like imagine how long it’s gonna take for them to dispatch and get there when you literally have no time to waste! plus it’s a truck? where else was he gonna put her?😭
100%! This was my thought exactly. If he's in the middle of nowhere on a farm and the hospital is far away they may not even have emergency medical services there, especially in a town of only 800 people.
Is crazy to me they were able to find him guilty yet someone like Casey Anthony roams the streets🙍♀️ Not saying he isn't guilty but to reach that verdict with no evidence seems like a stretch right?
As someone who also acts impulsively in sudden, panicky situations- I saw myself doing the "drive to the hospital first, and call 911 on the way" decision as well if I were him. Especially if they lived so far away, I'd hope to bring her to the hospital as soon as possible and cut paramedic travelling time with however much closer I can get to the hospital using my car. I'm not saying Todd isn't guilty 100% but I definitely don't think there was enough, or even substantial evidence to convict him with that charge(yet). The dude deserves another trial. They judged him on textbook reactions and never considered how different individuals would react to situations.
I thought the same thing. Growing up in a rural area where the nearest decent hospital is like an hour away...ya, I could see hopping in the car first and then calling 911 on the way....
I used to live in the country and paramedics get lost out there all the time. When anything happened that needed us to get to the hospital, a lot of times we would just drive there.
Growing up we lived so far from the hospital my parents would just drive us. We were extremely poor. A bill from the hospital for an ambulance ride would have broke us.
100% - if you are 1 hour out from the hospital then: Explaining to the dispatchers, giving the address and waiting for the ambulance to find you = 1 hour. Get in the car and start driving and maybe meet the ambulance half way = 30 minutes. Not unreasonable in the heat of the moment to just go for it without really thinking.
What if she honestly fell? Because she was having dizzy spells. There was no splatter at the scene, and the space was so tight according to 48 hours you couldn’t really move in there. Or the son found out his mom was cheating on his dad and raged out. I think Todd is innocent tbh
I literally just put this under a different comment!!! Here I thought I was the only one!! Did anyone wonder about the son? Cause his story kept changing… maybe he found out his mom was cheating again, and planning on leaving his dad and taking everything. So he snapped? Cause he didn’t want to leave his dad and the farm? 🤔🤔🤔🤔the son went to get “water” right? So no one had eyes on him. Why wasn’t this looked into more?! Kids/teenagers have killed for less… I dunno I just got a weird feeling about him. Him being in the “house” made him closer to the red barn than his dad also… I dunno man. Somethings fucky about this situation…
Wait... if she was cheating SOMETIMES ON THE FARM, could THAT be why the cameras stopped? Like, she didn't want to be seen with some other guy on farm cameras...
This is exactly why I read the comment section. Waiting for someone to think the same thing I was thinking. With that said does the camera have a digital record that it is being turned on and off. Also it sounds like the husband didn't leave the farm. If him finding out pig mean her life would she take the chance o f him or her children catching her. Our story teller really is correct. There is an enormous amount of unanswered questions and I believe she said if I'm not mistaken that she watched the whole trial. This channel sure gets you thinking
I feel like Todd driving Amy to the hospital isn’t too suspicious or anything. They live in a rural area. I’m sure he knows the way to the hospital better than the ambulance would know the way to their farm.
I live in the midwest & it's super common for a farm accident. It's faster to get them to the hospital or at least the nearest town & meet the ambulance. I agree@
We've had to call the ambulance for my grandma a few times for difficulties with her diabetes and other medical reasons and they can almost never find our house and when they do it's already been about 45 minutes. We could've gotten her there quicker but we weren't able to move her at the time. So to me, driving that person yourself isn't strange at all. More heat of the moment, get them the help they need as soon as possible. (At least with me) when something happens you don't automatically think things through before hand and then later you go back and sort of rethink everything and how it could've gone a different way
Honestly, I wouldn't even find it unusual in a city. If you know how to get to the hospital, it may be the fastest option to get them to help. There would be plenty of situations where I might say, "Let's get rolling" rather than stop and make a call. Everyone has a cell phone, make the call en route!
Me too! I mean, he was the only inconsistent one throughout the story! And something tells me that he was the one responsible for the searches, not every one can accept their parent/s cheating especially in that age.
I kept thinking it was going to be revealed as the son. He found out his mum was cheating on his dad, maybe gave her something hence the dizziness, 'went to get water' and committed the crime! Maybe that's why he was so shaken up and traumatised in the car.. he could have also made the Google searches on his dads ipad
I immediately thought of the son, Tristan. Like he was the one who found the body, he was alone going to get water, which was a lot closer to the red shed than his father was...what if he did it? And of course, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE INVESTIGATORS?! No one thought to, I dunno, INVESTIGATE?
American police seem to do this all the time it’s like they are fixated on somebody from the beginning and all they do is try to prove that guilt rather than remain open-minded. I’m 100% sure almost at least 90% that it was O.J. Simpson son that killed Nicole and not O.J. Simpson but O.J. Simpson went to the scene to drive his son away hence getting blood from the scene. The thing is the parent would probably rather go down than frame their own child but I guess would ideally like both to get off with it
Oh I 100% think it was the son it makes more sense 🤷🏼 he probably found out his mom cheated and was going to divorce his dad and take him away from his dad and the farm. Tristan didn't like that so he killed her. So that he wouldn't be taken away.
I’m also wondering if the dad knew it was the son because think about it…the dad stuck to his story about them not leaving each other’s sight the whole time yet the son claims to have went to get a drink of water. Doesn’t that mean the dad would have to confirm that did indeed happen? That little bit there probably would have had them questioning the son now right? Since it would look like dad was covering for him. Detectives were not detectiving 🤦🏻♀️
Personally, I think that Todd was trying to cover for his son. Tristan’s story was the only one that changed AND he was the one who “found” his mom. Perhaps he saw an opportunity to overpower his mom in her weak state because he knew she was having affairs and thought his dad was being too lenient. And *IF* Tristan did it, he would have likely had blood on him, and that’s why Todd laid her body across him and Tristan in the car. So that the blood could be dismissed by doing this. Also, I have a difficult time believing a grown adult would search about ancient cultures doing away with adulterers. I don’t know, just seems kind of childish to me. On top of jewelry searches and Pinterest, other people besides Todd used the iPad. 🤷🏻♀️ Edit: I’m watching some of the court trial right now because at this point I’m invested, lol. And the son DID know about the affair! He said that his dad brought it up to him a few times.... motive? I think yes.
I absolutely think that when they hear "cheating wh*re" he's saying "one two three four" as in counting while he is trying to revive her. I'm shocked this wasn't brought up at all.
Also Tod’s reaction to the questioning is actually pretty accurate. Especially in small towns with how little males are allowed to show emotions. We don’t have big break downs. No man cries at a death and women focus on caring for everyone before processing emotions. And small town rumors are very accurate where everyone knows everything. But affairs can be more easily hidden than you think. Lots of back roads that everyone knows like the back of their hand and just going for a drive is what you do. There aren’t places to hangout at. There is no park, mall, places people go. You steal the farm hand truck, you pick up your friends and go “cruising” down back roads.
i don’t understand why they think it’s so weird he started driving her to the hospital. being out in the middle of nowhere, cops take forever. he could’ve easily believed he would’ve got her help faster, but to call them during so they are aware she is injured and she needs help.
Exactly! I had to do the same living 45 minutes from the nearest hospital when my nephew got hurt. Everyone knows that’s what you do when you live out in the middle of no where.
That's what I was thinking! I'm from Iowa, specifically I was in Rural Iowa, and the nearest emergency hospital was 40 minutes away from where I lived for YEARS until they FINALLY built a hospital 30 minutes away. As if that's much better though
YES! I cannot save your life at home but I can by driving to a hospital and saving time. BUT my fiancé who is a nurse also said actually, you could save their life by staying at the place and doing CPR so WHO KNOWS
I think your idea about Amy accidentally falling on the rake twice from dizziness is a real possibility. Todd definitely deserves a new trial with a decent defense team.
My first thought was it sounded like she may have fallen from dizziness. Especially after just having had surgery, and not feeling well, and add in if was hot out, and she could’ve been dehydrated. It honestly makes the most sense. It didn’t say if all the wounds were the same depth.
@@joeymiller5331 she was probably standing and and the corn rake was probably standing by the wall and she accidentally walked into it, but the holes weren’t deep so she took it out, felt dizzy or misstepped and fell on the rake much harder and then fell down.
@@joeymiller5331 or the second time she leaned on the rake she could’ve walked then felt dizzy and fall on her back which would explain if some of the holes were deeper than the others
I don’t think there was anything weird about him driving her to the hospital. They live in the middle of no where. It’s going to take much longer for the ambulance to get to them so he did what he thought was best. I think he’s innocent and it very likely could have been a freak accident. He deserves to have another trial. Another person in prison for no reason
Exactly!! I live way out in the middle of nowhere, had to drive an uncle til I met the ambulance just because it was faster. When they said it was strange behavior I was like 🙃 how 🙃
As a 911 operator for almost 10 years, it’s not uncommon for people in rural areas to take it upon themselves to drive people to the hospital, sometimes it can take up to a half an hour for an ambulance just to get to the scene of the accident. I’ve taken a lot of calls from people who call 911 while they’re en route to the hospital with the person because they feel like they can get them to the hospital sooner than waiting for the ambulance to get to them and then transport back to the hospital which in a lot of cases is true.
911 dispatcher here too, and yes! We have many calls like this. I work in a rural county and in certain parts of the county it can take up to 45 minutes for ems to arrive. Def not uncommon for this to happen.
Very true! I grew up in a very small town like this. There were less than 500 people in my town, and we were almost an hour from the next town over where the closest hospital was located. 911 wasn't even used much because of that. If someone had an emergency, you hopped in a car and had someone take you.
ER nurse here. This absolutely happens. I used to worked in a town where the next nearest hospital was 20 miles away. At least once a week someone would do something like this. Also, people do this all the time with their children. It’s rare (I don’t work in a children’s hospital but the city I live in now has one) for a child to come to my hospital by EMS. I’ve taken care of very sick/injured kids whose parents just tossed them in the car and drove them. This is not uncommon.
We are not even that far out of town and when I was having a miscarriage my husband drove me to the hospital. Its double time if you wait for an ambulance. There's only so much EMT's can do, they are there to try and get you stable enough to get to a hospital where they have more resources. If you are needing surgery to stop internal bleeding, that's not happening in an ambulance.
As a 911 dispatcher of 13 years, I can tell you LOTS of people act and THEN call 911. The fact that he got her in the truck and started driving and then called is actually pretty normal. Also, if you ever get impaled on an object, don't remove it. It might just save your life. Love your videos Bailey!
I feel like it makes more sense to do that if you live in the middle of nowhere saves time waiting on ambulance to arrive and then take someone back to the hospital
I would also have jumped in the truck first, then called 911 as I was driving in order to lessen the time waiting. Precious seconds can be wasted trying to save a life by stalling.
I lived in secluded country for many years, and my plan of action in case of emergency never included calling and waiting for an ambulance. Action first, call for help second.
April 6th, 2023 Todd has appealed for a new trial. Please let us get him help. We need to do something and save this man who is clearly innocent. His case was entirely mishandled. He deserves a second chance.
I don't know about "clearly innocent" but I definitely agree his case was mishandled. How was he found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt when there is obviously doubt. I'm not gonna start blaming the son like everyone else (cos thats just gross) but I do like Bailey's take on it, she slipped and did actually fall on it twice. I would like to see the area where she was found too.
@@Robin_Coffinsa lot of people believe he is covering for his son. His sons story kept changing and what have we learned from that? I believe he is innocent
@@LisaMarie-fk5wb Maybe but i feel like the son had no motive to do so, and the cop mentioned that the son seemed traumatized holding his dead mom with her blood on him
@@Idk-lf7fe he could have been upset that his mom was having an affair on his dad, and he was "technically " the only person out of sight to grab a drink of water, he could have snuck into the barn
Because unfortunately investigators tend to be very narrow sighted. Once they believe they have the person or persons responsible they “stop investigating.”
The fact that this guy was found guilty and Casey Anthony roams free, blows my freakin mind. She had suspicions google searches and a dead body smell in her trunk. Smdh
Eh, I think Casey is an example of our justice system actually working, I know that’s controversial but... they couldn’t prove guilt without a doubt and focused on wild theories instead of facts. I think she 100% did it but Nancy Grace did a better job proving it than the prosecutors did.
As someone who used to live in the middle of nowhere, I would 100% start driving to a hospital before making a 911 call. Sometimes addresses way out there are hard to find and to wait all that time for emergency services to get to you then go all the way to the hospital from that point would take so much time. A few minutes could mean life or death.
That was exactly what I said when I heard this part. I grew up in the country, and it would take a long while for EMS to get to us, we would have Totally started driving. I feel this case is a Huge injustice.
When I lived in rual wyoming the nearest hospital was 45 min to call an ambulance and have them drive you back would take to long. 100% driving straight to the er.
I grew up on a farm in middle of nowhere Iowa. When I was a kid we didn't even have street names and house numbers. My address was Rural Route 1 Box 292. You have an emergency? You drive to the hospital and maybe the ambulance can meet you on the way. Cell service is spotty in areas, so it's normal to call on the way. His logic makes perfect sense.
Exactly! I live like 20 minutes away from the hospital in the mountains. When we've had to call 911 for my mother, it would take them 30-40 minutes to get to/find us. So it just ends up being quicker if we took her ourselves.
I am actually from a town 10 minutes from Earlville and naturally this was very talked about, like you said everyone talks in small towns. A lot of people also were shocked they didn’t investigate the son as a suspect.
I know right? They’re very raised which some just can’t pull off but they fit her face and sassy self perfectly. I have to buy that dollar store soap she raves about to make my eyebrows stay put the way hers do. I asked my injector to raise my eyebrows like hers at my appt last Friday but he didn’t raise them enough so I’m getting more Botox at my follow up appt. I want Bailey brows, raised to the Gods!
Does it drive anyone else crazy is these cases, that when someone is quiet it means they have no emotion and when the are loud they are over doing it? Either way their emotion and actions are wrong and prove they are guilty. Drives me nuts!
It goes to show if they wanna pin it on you, no matter how you react, they re always gonna make it fit their narrative. I was personally shocked to hear him driving her to the hopsital would pmay against him.
Or the fact that he put her in the truck before calling 911. If he is far enough away from medical treatment, he might be wanting to her to the hospital quicker than if an ambulance was sent out 🤷♀️ there are so many ways a person in distress could react
Glad to see so many people also think the son is SUSPISH! Kids are often extremely angry when they find out a parent is cheating. He changed his story, left the barn, was gone for an unknown amount of time, more than likely had access to the iPad, and he's the one who found her!! Also, for the mayan part, what if he was learning about them in school and that's why he searched it?
THE ENTIRE TIME I was like “what if she was feeling guilty and searched those thing?” And when you said that I said “what not to do” with you! I feel like this was a terrible thing that happened but there was not sufficient evidence to prove the husband did it, and by our laws we are innocent until PROVEN guilty. I feel like the doubt should’ve been placed in jurors minds for sure and our justice system failed this poor woman, her children, and her husband.
I think todd called 911 after taking her in the car because he knew that it was ganna take longer for the ambulance to come since they live so far away from hospitals
Yeah I live in the boonies and would do the exact same thing Todd did because I rather speed to get the hospital then wait an hour for an ambulance to get there and then have to drive back to get her to the hospital
Literally I live in Iowa not too far from Anamosa and I'm certain that's what happened. With a lot of these small towns they don't have their own fire department/ambulance/police/emergency services. You have to go to the nearest city for that. So when something happens in a small town, ambulances take F O R E V E R to get there and THEN they take F O R E V E R to get back to the hospital. It's honesetly just faster to go to the hospital yourselves, and alert 911 while you're already on your way. IDK why the cops thought that was so suspicious, that's literally what everyone in small towns out here does when something happens.
I agree with you. Not to mention, some of the things he said were so elaborate (like why the cameras were offline), yet he didn't say much in his own defense (like how he could make it to the red barn and back without his son noticing). Guilty people will grasp at straws and say any and every thing to make themselves seem innocent.
Some guilty people, usually only those that actually feel guilty. It's easier to lie when you aren't feeling anxious about the situation, though. Many killers have never changed their story and are only in prison due to evidence found.
As someone who worked on a farm and has used rakes most of my time on the farm I can confirm that it’s very unlikely that you could fall on a rake and end up with injuries like hers.
I do not understand why Tristan was not questioned more thoroughly. 1) He was the first person to find his mom. What if he found her in a compromised position and took advantage of the opportunity? She would not have suspected him to hurt her, so she wouldn’t have struggled with him too much. 2) He left his dad and went to get water changing the time he was gone throughout the course of the investigation. Suspish 3) Tristan most likely would have been able to turn off of the cameras just as easily as his dad. 4) He also would have been able to use his dads iPad to make google searches. 5) He played sports with the Jerry’s kids, is it possible the kids found out about the affair and Tristan decided to take matters into his own hands? 6) Also, do you think Tristan was planning on eventually taking over the farm? Perhaps the idea of divorce and having the farm broken up would have spoiled his future plans? I lived in rural PA most of life and though farming is hard work, it’s also a fairly lucrative business that perhaps Tristan was willing to give up? I’ve got so many questions here.
I didn't even think about Tristan and Jerry's kids. That could be an angle. It's entirely possible either Tristan or Todd found the search history for the wedding dresses and jewelry. I would be more interested in WHEN these searches took place.
I was thinking the same thing. I kind of suspect the son, too. Everybody was just focused on the husband and forgot about the son. I am not saying that the son is guilty, it is just suspicious.
ya , he could have been p*ssed at his Mom but still that she was dizzy and stuff still leads me to believe she fell BUT hey, again, seriously faulty defense, WHY didnt the defense try to pin it on Tristan as a way to get his DAD off or create reasonable doubt?
Imagine being cheated on by your spouse then charged with their death then get put away for life and never see your kid again. If he's innocent, that's got to be so incredibly sad..
And the sad thing is there are so many innocent people incarcerated......then it takes so long to get out again. Basically either way is life is ruined, because even if he gets another trial and is found NOT GUILTY....people in the town will always wonder and will have this question hanging over his head. People who have spent 20 years in jail and then been freed say that the sense of guilt always stays there from others...it puts a black cloud over your name even being innocent...... unfair ....and many people have confessed to crimes they never committed because cops wear them down over such a long period of time, they just end up saying they did it when they didn’t ....at least this guy never changed his story. They say when you are innocent the story NEVER changes but when guilty, it keeps changing even just a bit, but add them all together and they are usually guilty.
When you're such a great story teller that I still listen upon realizing I've listened to this over a year ago and I still listen to it again. RIP Amy poor lady.
The whole time I was really bothered by people judging him for taking her to the hospital. He jumped into action, he acted in the moment. "He shouldnt have laid her on their son" his other options are putting one of them in the bed, leaving their traumatized son alone or putting her in first and making the son sit on her. I think he chose the best option with what he had. No one knows what they would do in that situation.
Exactly. Coming from a small town myself where there’s loads of farms, I saw nothing weird or wrong with him getting in and driving her. He could meet the ambulance half way to the hospital.
Agreed! Where I grew up the nearest actual hospital was an hour away. Even to call an ambulance, it could take 30-60 mins just for them to show up! It makes more sense to call while heading to the hospital than to wait the extra time for an ambulance!
Exactly. My grandparents live in a verrrrry rural area and it's faster for them to drive themselves to the ER than to call 911. It would take 45 mins just for someone to get to them.
As a retired rural police officer, it’s very very very common to intercept patients on the way to the hospital or transported by helicopter it’s rare that an ambulance actually makes it too the location of the accident but the kid did it for sure.
Agreed. It didn’t seem odd at all that he would immediately start towards the hospital then call 911. Waiting around to call doesn’t help, while getting on the move does.
I hate how most of the wife’s friends thought that the husband was mean and horrible like, the wife could’ve been lying to her friends. People do that.
Sooo true! Just like when ppl cheat, they will tell the person they are cheating with that their partner is a horrible person etc but lying the whole time
Also what friends support someone cheating on their husband?! Because Bailey mentioned that Amy was having an affair with Jerry and she told her friend about it so like what type of person is that friend? I'm so mad at how they are blaming her husband but it's so unfair to him to find out that she was cheating even after he asked Jerry's wife.
@@MarauderetteForever that’s what I was thinking. Like if I was your friend and you were cheating in your husband. I would not support you and try to talk you out of doing it or tell the husband. So wrong. Very strange case
YES! My way of processing grief is just pretending the person does not exist. I can't engage with my grief emotionally because I won't be able to keep going
And he had been dealing with it for so long. He sat in jail for seven months before he even got the trial. Weird that people expect him to act like it just happened when he'd had half a year+ to think about it daily.
It was the son. Why? he was the only one who left the barn, he changed his story twice, was the one who found her and covered in blood. The google searches: So, the husband was cheated 3 times and only in the 3rd time searched for signs of a cheating wife? No, the son found out, did the searches (aztecs was probably a school subject and he searched it for curiosity), saw how bad this was being to his dad and killed her.
Growing up on a beef ranch, I know first hand, you are taught from a very young age that bad things can happen if you're not careful around farm equipment. If something does happen, you start driving to the hospital, then call for help because help simply can't get to you fast enough and it could be the difference between life and death. You also take on farm responsibilities from a young age. You learn about life's beginnings and ends very early. It does not surprise me at all that he started driving, then called 911. The ambulance can get to them faster if he can meet them half way. It also doesn't surprise me that the mother was laid on the son's lap. The father was the only one who could drive, so that left the oldest child to jump in and help stabilize. This is incredibly sad and I feel so badly for this family. Truly misrepresented and not given a fair trial.
I too, living in Alaska, know to drive and the ambulance will meet you. I mean it’s a small town. Not like there’s a million routes to the hospital. However keeping the heart pumping oxygen to her brain is also important so CPR needed to get started. Hence him stopping to preform CPR once it was brought to his attention.
My husband and I were screaming all of these things at the TV!! I completely agree and think a lot of his actions are understandable when you are familiar with extremely rural living and the silent reserved farmer type. He reacted in a way that would have given his wife the best chance, not like a man that wanted her dead. So sad...
My boyfriend farms and his address always sends anyone to the wrong location.. so living out in the middle of nowhere it seems like common sense to drive anyone closer to town.. especially if there is someone to stabilize the injured person or do CPR on the way. Or if the locations aren’t 100% accurate like they are when you live in town, that could cost a life too.
I think the cameras were disconnected because Amy didn't want to be caught on camera having an affair. If this guy is innocent and was actually cheated on three times and arrested, I feel so bad for him.
She wouldnt disconnect the cameras. Most women wont even think to do that let alone i doubt she would bring someone else around thier kids and thier farm knowing the dads there or could pop up. She would have went to him
@@brittnicole2438 i doubt she would've brought anyone home, but who's to say she didn't try to sneak away and meet them somewhere that's close by or smth? idk, this whole case is obviously a set-up and the potholes make my head spiral.
@@blackiggy I wish if he did it he would admit it or the truth came out. They should have investigated more but i feel they didnt do what they should have.
As a person who lives on a farm, I would like to know WHERE Tristan went to get water. Did he just go to the nearest sink? Drink it out of the hose? Go to the office? Walk all the way back to the house? If someone had only asked him that we would have a lot more information about how long he was gone. Personally, I think it was either an accident or it was Tristan.
I thought this as well. He said it was only a minute or two and then changed his mind to say he wasn’t sure, but if they asked him where the water was they could much more easily come up with a timeline. I think the kid did it honestly.
Ok, but did anyone question the relationship between Tristen and his mother? Because he was 14 and grew up on a farm, he would certainly be strong enough, could have the same motive as his father, knowledge of the cameras, and access to the iPad. He also left his father to “go get water” he doesn't know how long he was gone, and he was the one to discover his mother. Did anyone say how long he was out there getting the pet carrier? 🤷♀️
As much as I wouldn't want to believe it was Tristan, it would have been worth looking into. He knows his way around a farm and it's equipment, had heard about the previous affair plus maybe the new one (kids the same age, maybe wifey didn't realize parents were sneaking off but kids did?), and a lot of farm kids are dedicated to that lifestyle
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING! No one questioned him at all! Like, he could have known about his mum cheating, that is extremely upsetting to a child! I think they definitely should have looked into the son.
The Aztec search really makes me suspect the teenage son even more because he would likely be learning about them in school. If I were an investigator, I'd find out his curiculum. He probably knew about his Mom's affairs, and I can't imagine he'd be very happy with her. The fact that he changed his story and was the only one alone with her... Very suspicious.
I was thinking that too !! And like he’s the one that went to grab a glass of water which probably brought him closer to his mother more than Todd having to run through the field ... it’s just a bit too weird for me
And the son would gain access to the farm and the income while his dad is in the slammer. And the son was the one that kept changing his story. Very interesting!
I really think it was the son, it’s the most logical thing. Plus depending on how big the son is, a child could probably fit in a narrow space just fine
Yes!! I had this feeling when he just happened to go for water right when his mum was "killed" and he would also know where the cameras were to disable them. Suspish
When I was younger I fell off a horse. Instead of my parents calling 911 they loaded me up into the truck and drove me to the hospital instead of waiting for an ambulance. I can totally see his point of view. FYI - My parents also never called 911 at all.
Yeah it makes sense to me, having grown up in a rual area. Ambulances take at least 30 minutes when we could just speed for 20 or less. And we dont have that kind of money
I am from a rural community and people do this all the time! Why wait for an ambulance to come, then transport the person back to the hospital, when you can have the person at the hospital before the ambulance even arrives?
I’m a bit curious as to why they didn’t ask the son what he was saying. He was a witness and I highly doubt he would be bashing his sons mother in front of the son while she’s dying. This case is definitely a frustrating one
the son might not have been right next to the dad and mom to hear everything, or if he was, maybe he was too in shock to really be paying attention to whatever the dad was saying.
Forget the story, look at the makeup‼️THIS is the best look by far. Purple is my favorite color and girl you are ROCKIN' IT‼️You are absolutely gorgeous 💜
I think it’s weird that the dad would have asked the son to grab the pet carrier out of the shed if he had killed her. Why would he want his son to see that?
Hey guys don’t forget that the son actually totally changed his story during the trial... I’m thinking as many others in the comments section that Todd might be covering his son’s mistake... Maybe the son just lost control and called his dad right after attacking the mother and the dad just thought that he wouldn’t want his son to ruin his life so he took all the blame... Think of it that way, the search history was a little off to me and his son might have just gone carried away when rumors started spreading that her mom was cheating, and even probably insulted, you know how it is with kids. Maybe he thought that his dad doing nothing wasn’t right and confronted his mother in the barn. If she didn’t have any remorse or told him she wanted to leave his father, taking some of their money, their family life and everything, he might have lost it... Pushed her or something and accidentally killed her... I don’t know it’s just a theory but I’m really thinking that the dad wasn’t going to go that far because he already had been cheating on and handled it really well at the time... He wanted this to work for his family and probably was ready to still try to figure it out after everything... The story of the son seems so off when the dad never changed his version...
The wife was clearly feeling guilty about cheating. Maybe she searched what the aztecs did out of her own guilt. Maybe she wanted to give him a little hint because of her own guilt.
Exactly! And it's the fact that Todd sent Tristan to the barn in the first place that makes me think he's innocent. Why on Earth would he traumatize his son by making him find his mother's corpse?
This story keep me up at night and I think about it so often. I am from Iowa about 2hrs away from Earlville Iowa and I always thought on why nobody has mentioned or questioned the son?!?! Also am from a small town and it isn’t the greatest, everyone knows everything almost about you.
Why did no one look into the son? He had timing and opportunity and could have resented his mother for breaking up the family by her affairs just as much as the father would have.
Tristan, the son, went for "a drink of water" and he "doesn't know how long it took him". And the Google searches were very childish. And a father would never accuse their own son as a possibility. This is truly disappointing.
Exactly, I had the same thoughts about the son and the searches. And if he was at the house, he could have confronted his mother, cleaned up, and gone back. If she was already cold by the time they pulled the car over, she was likely dead the entire time.
It's like the whole yanny/laurel thing! If you are thinking one thing, you will hear it even though it is the SAME AUDIO! They were already thinking he was guilty so they heard something incriminating.
Idk...I grew up on a ranch. I’ve seen some freak accidents. I do believe Todd deserves a retrial because this trial didn’t seem fair. Either way, Rest In Peace Amy.
The son! We don’t no exactly where he is during this, he could have searched everything. He probably saw his mother’s searches and heard some of her phone calls. So many things point to the son!
Fr, my first reaction I would hope is to take the person to the hospital as quickly as possible instead of calling and wasting time. Just my opinion though 🤷🏻♀️idk
i agree with you. it's either call 911 and have responders drive out to the farm and then back to the hospital, which would take twice the amount of time, or drive there to the hospital himself. it's a hard decision but in the moment, i can see how he would decide to drive her there himself.
Love this episode for so many different reasons but all of them are YOU BAILEY 🎉 You are absolutely fab and so funny to listen to. So joyful, entertaining and relatable. I like everyone else wish we were your bestest friends!!!❤
Yes I was just about to say that I was thinking that the whole time. It’s very weird to me how he switched up his alibi, he didn’t hear nothing, he probably has access to the cameras, and how long did it take for you to get water. He’s very suspicious his motive could’ve been how he found out his mother was in an affair and about her plans to divorce and just lashed out
Did the kid know of the affair? Were they a religious family and the kid is faithful to his faith? And like another person said, why wasn't the kid questioned.
I actually forgot so it was a surprise for me. Happens after every break toi. I forget the 4th Monday and then by the 3rd Monday I sit and wait only to find out it's Monday 3.
I grew up REALLY rural and we were always taught get in the car and then call 911. We lived down a mile long dirt road that I don’t even think an ambulance could make it down
When the ambulance has to come from another county most of the time they can't find you. Country life like that is different. You kind of have to live it to understand it.
yep! I don’t live super rural but small lanes mean ambulances can’t even fit through ... seriously , someone fell and hit there head (they were fine luckily) and the paramedics had to leave the ambulance to walk down.
Bingo..that is exactly what i was thinking. In my are our 911 address is almost a half a mile from our house so if someone needed direction it would be very difficult. I think it very plausible that he just started driving maybe to a main road or somewhere he knew they could find. It was probably an unconscious decision.
It was the son. Tod was protecting him. Way too weird how only HIS story changes. The son googling justifications like ancient ways to take care of someone unjust. The dad saying only HE uses the iPad when clearly he wasn't because of the wedding searches. Son was traumatized because he killed her "getting water". He wanted to protect his dads farm and having separate homes. Parents talk to their kids too. I have no doubt the dad over time conditioned his son to think his mom was a terrible cheater. Teens are already full of emotions and ambitious. Once it was ruled not an accident I'm sure Todd took any and all suspicion thinking he could get them out of it. It was the son.
Well I mean the Mom *was* a terrible cheater. Todd didn't have to work very hard to condition his son into thinking anything, it was no secret she had multiple affairs. The whole town knew.
Yes!! And Todd tried to save her by taking her to a hospital in the hope she would survive and that they could say it was an accident. And he put her body on his sons lap in the truck to cover up why the son had his mums blood on him...
The fact that the ONLY person to change their story was the son, Tristan? Weird. Too weird for me to ignore. Why is no one questioning that? You swore up and down that you never left your dad's side. But now, 7 months later, you suddenly remembered that you "maybe" went to get a drink of water & that you don't know how long you were gone? Its a glass of water. Not rocket science. Takes less than a minute to pour it, maybe 2 to drink the thing. As Bailey said, Todd would have had to go directly past the house to get to Amy and back. There's no plausible way Tristan wouldn't have noticed.
I feel like the changed story could be police gaslighting, like "are you sure you were with him the whole time?! You never left his side once?! Are you sure you didn't?! You really didn't, not even to use the bathroom? Or get a drink?? You were working hard you had to have gotten a drink right? Are you sure you didn't leave him to go get a drink of water really quick?" Something like that. Especially with a 13 year old, you could definitely make him question that maybe yeah he did go get water, if what they were saying made sense, maybe he did just forget that he did.
@@MariaThePotterNut Kids aren't even supposed to be questioned without a guardian/parent in there with them. Obviously neither of his parents could be there but I would have asked for a grandparent or aunt/uncle to go with me and that IMO is how it should have been handled so something like that couldn't happen.
@@MariaThePotterNut agreed, getting a drink of water while doing manual labour isn’t something you think a lot about so while you might reminder being with someone the whole time you might have gotten a drink of water, this kid’s being put on the spot for just having bad memory of what was supposed to be a regular day
the son was super traumatized, covered in blood, and unaccounted for. he could have got mad at his mom and just boom, crime of passion. and the dad willingly took the fall, which would also explain his demeanor in court since he knew that if someone was going down for it it was gonna be him because he was making sure it wasn’t the son.
That is exactly what I was thinking as soon as she said the son changed his story three times. Todd also chose to lay his wife across his son, so if there was any blood spatter on him previously it would have been covered up. I came to the comments to see if more people felt this way, but apparently not. I hope it was just an accident, we may never get the truth though.

I think the son did it when he found out his mom was leaving in a fit of hormonal teenage rage and his dad covered it up to protect him from spending the rest of his life behind bars
That's a vibe I'm getting it would give a reason as to why the husband isn't saying no or really trying to fight their accusations. Seems he really is upset and at a loss and maybe trying to protect his child or it was a freak accident in all the worst timing and so many skeletons&lies it just makes it seem less freak. The only thing about a freak accident is why no blood anywhere? If that's where she truly was hurt.
Can we get a petition going to get Todd a new trial? Like, if there's enough public support for Todd and outrage at his failed defense team, is it possible it could work?
@@StephiePpn He did with his trial judge. Once convicted and sentenced he can file an appeal with an appellate court rather than the trial judge. That would be the next step.
Comments Add a public comment... Pinned by Bailey Sarian Bailey Sarian hi friends, I dont know what I think about this one. He may be guilty but like...... was that enough proof for his sentence?? I just dont know.... Editing to add: Jerry’s wife had a solid alibi, she was across town volunteering and many saw her at the time of Amy’s death. 3 days ago (edited) 8.2K 375 BADudet Yo Am right at the 911 call playback clip. & I was just thinking that almost always when you are performing CPR chest compressions you will (and are advised) to count them aloud for yourself and for the dispatcher your on 911 with as you do them to keep track of your compressions because typically once you get to 30 chest compression you then administer 2 rescue breaths and then repeat that cycle. It's definitely a possibility that him saying "Cheating h**e " May actually be him counting "24" aloud.
I don’t think he got a fair trial. Unanswered questions and bad legal counsel. What was up with son? Was he working against his dad? Was the son involved? I’ve known a lot of farmers and many of them respond slowly and are very stoic.
Honestly they’re blaming the father but I think the son is suspicious. Todd maintained his story all the way. Tristan went to the barn before his father even did. And probably small enough to get in and out of a narrow space without much of a disruption. Crazy.
@@rabbitguts2518 Some 13 year olds are hella tall- my little brother is 5'8 and 13. Plus, the boy grew up on a farm, I'm sure he's got some muscle on him.
I agree! I'm sure he knew his mom was cheating. Both times. 8 years and 13 years old. Maybe he was mad at her. Maybe he googled those things on the iPad 🤷♀️
Bailey, I was wondering and raising all the same questions myself and scenarios too. I don’t think there was enough to convict him beyond a reasonable doubt!
The searches don't sound like they were made by an adult. My theory is that the son found out about the affair and killed his mother while he was "getting water"
If Tristen changed his story to going to get a drink out of know where and somehow walked by the shed to find his mother, why haven’t we questioned him?
I think it was Tristen because maybe he knew his mom was having an affair and he didn’t want his family to be split up. He changed his story and he was the one that “found” her
Literally I was searching for someone else to think it was Tristan too. Cause he was gone for a few minutes. He could have fit in the narrow space and killed his mum which is why he looked so shocked after they were in the car cause he just killed his mother. Then changed his story yet was not questioned
100%. AND he said he left to go get a drink, assumingly a drink of water in the house, so he walked all the way to the house, which was right next to the red barn. I fully believe it was the child.
RIGHT!! like imagine how long it’s gonna take for them to dispatch and get there when you literally have no time to waste! plus it’s a truck? where else was he gonna put her?😭
I think so too!!! And you clearly don’t think straight in this kind of situation
100%! This was my thought exactly. If he's in the middle of nowhere on a farm and the hospital is far away they may not even have emergency medical services there, especially in a town of only 800 people.
I didn’t think there was anything wrong with that either I would have done the same.
Is crazy to me they were able to find him guilty yet someone like Casey Anthony roams the streets🙍♀️ Not saying he isn't guilty but to reach that verdict with no evidence seems like a stretch right?
Seriously! Our justice system is so skewed!
PREACH IT, YES. Those two cases compared, it’s just like... what... wha... WHAT!?
Yeah, GREAT point!
Totally agree!!! I was gonna mention her in my comment!
Exactly what I said
As someone who also acts impulsively in sudden, panicky situations- I saw myself doing the "drive to the hospital first, and call 911 on the way" decision as well if I were him.
I said the same thing. Especially if i lived in the country
Yea I thought that he same that the son found out she was cheating
Yea if it was a small town maybe he was getting teased or confronted at school or something
I honestly feel like she was dizzy and fell backwards, trust me in summer I'm always dizzy and it happens
@@TheOriginalTinySatan the dad could be taking the blame for his son, we don’t know but I agree, something is funky!
Wait... if she was cheating SOMETIMES ON THE FARM, could THAT be why the cameras stopped? Like, she didn't want to be seen with some other guy on farm cameras...
*BIG BRAIN TIME*
Huh.. thats interesting. So plausible
Yep i don't think Todd did it, just seems weird 🤔
HONESTLY
I feel like Todd driving Amy to the hospital isn’t too suspicious or anything. They live in a rural area. I’m sure he knows the way to the hospital better than the ambulance would know the way to their farm.
I live in the midwest & it's super common for a farm accident. It's faster to get them to the hospital or at least the nearest town & meet the ambulance. I agree@
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, like it would take too long to wait for them to get to their house.
Same. This seems absolutely normal for a farmer in a rural area.
This is driving me nuts because the entire time I'm listening to the story I'm like why is no one questioning the son???????
He went out and found mom. Could have hurt her then and then called for Dad? Because his story changed suddenly. This is going to keep me up.
Me too! I mean, he was the only inconsistent one throughout the story! And something tells me that he was the one responsible for the searches, not every one can accept their parent/s cheating especially in that age.
how come jerry's wife was never suspected either! she was my first guess when Bailey was talking about the phone call.
One thing I keep wondering is what if Amy was worried that she would be killed for cheating, and she made the searches to see how common it was?
The thing is the parent would probably rather go down than frame their own child but I guess would ideally like both to get off with it
I heard the last couple sentences in Bailey's voice 😂 It sounds so much like her
A lot of people think it was the son Tristan as well. They should have looked into that more. They still should. So silly.
At this point Bailey should be Todd’s defense attorney. She makes a hella of a better case for an accident.
Bahahhaha😂
She does bring up some very key points I mean you can't really argue with her
@@jennifercameron7143 right like how did the lawyers miss that haha
It's not like she was strangled and he didn't have any defense wounds
I support bailey going to school to be a lawyer fully lol
Edit: I’m watching some of the court trial right now because at this point I’m invested, lol. And the son DID know about the affair! He said that his dad brought it up to him a few times.... motive? I think yes.
My thought exactly!
Same!! I think the son did it!
I wasn't thinking this. Now I am....!
@@MeganVlogz literally same

Exactly!
Oh wow, great thought!
Right me too...... I dont get it
I don't think he was doing CPR at that time.
I immediately thought that!
Exactly! You drive in the direction of the hospital and the ambulance comes towards you! She gets medical attention in a lot less time!
I know aye. Takes 2hrs to drive to place, maybe meet in the middle and make it 1hr. Every minute counts!
How can a corn rake go into her back take itself out and then go back into her back, while she's on her hands and knees?
Maybe she fell on it, was alert enough to remove it but then got dizzy and fell on it again, and then tried to crawl while it was still in her back
I don’t think there was anything weird about him driving her to the hospital. They live in the middle of no where. It’s going to take much longer for the ambulance to get to them so he did what he thought was best. I think he’s innocent and it very likely could have been a freak accident. He deserves to have another trial. Another person in prison for no reason
I too think it may have been a freak accident or Julie found out about the affair
I totally agree!! I didn’t think anything weird about what he did, then everyone was like “strange behavior.” And I’m like oh…

Absolutely in a farm area you drive yourself to the hospital for sure on marked roads tractors that you can't pass on the road....
Thank you for what you do.♥️
,cuts out an extra trip
Or the Jerry guy or his wife.
Bailey you should become a defense attorney. You bring up questions that paid attorneys don't ask or think of.
Why would she do that? She already has a profession..she is a professional make-up artist..
The fact that this guy was found guilty and Casey Anthony roams free, blows my freakin mind. She had suspicions google searches and a dead body smell in her trunk. Smdh

Casey Anthony had a better lawyer. 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️😤
Eh, I think Casey is an example of our justice system actually working, I know that’s controversial but... they couldn’t prove guilt without a doubt and focused on wild theories instead of facts. I think she 100% did it but Nancy Grace did a better job proving it than the prosecutors did.
for reallllll
8 agree totally. How is Casey Anthony not in prison but this guy is? Where's the proof?
AGREED!

That's why the Fifth Amendment can be useful, because it is instructed that no adverse inference can be drawn from choosing not to take the stand.
what gets me- his wife is DEAD and people are like "oh he's so cold"
his wife cheated on him twice, she's dead, and he was being accused
Or the fact that he put her in the truck before calling 911. If he is far enough away from medical treatment, he might be wanting to her to the hospital quicker than if an ambulance was sent out 🤷♀️ there are so many ways a person in distress could react
It also doesn’t help that lawyers will usually tell their clients to not show emotion
Bailey is about to be hired as this guys defense attorney, pointing out all the holes in this plot.

That was my first thought! Kids learn about different cultures in schools, so he could have made that search.
Yes! And maybe the dad was so off cause he had his own suspicions and didn’t want his son to get in trouble
And 13 is about the age of 8th and 9th grade, when you WOULD typically learn about the Mayans in school.
I live in the "middle of nowhere" and this is exactly what we would do....although with that type of injury, we would just call life flight ourselves.
Came here to say this, 99% what happened imo. Especially since SHE WORKED THERE BEFORE so he probably knew how to get there quickly if needed.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Bailey should actually be a prosecutor at this point ,the way she analyzed the last part is so so professional 👍

I think the fact that his story never changed leans towards innocence. Guilty people stumble over their stories and change as things go on.
Like the son.
FACTS: Even the best liars have trouble keeping their story straight.
I kept waiting to find out it was the son who did it. Didn't he have access to both the Google search and the cameras?
As someone who worked on a farm and has used rakes most of my time on the farm I can confirm that it’s very unlikely that you could fall on a rake and end up with injuries like hers.

I do not understand why Tristan was not questioned more thoroughly.
1) He was the first person to find his mom. What if he found her in a compromised position and took advantage of the opportunity? She would not have suspected him to hurt her, so she wouldn’t have struggled with him too much.
2) He left his dad and went to get water changing the time he was gone throughout the course of the investigation. Suspish
3) Tristan most likely would have been able to turn off of the cameras just as easily as his dad.
Jerry's children could also be under suspicion depending on their ages etc. They could easily have blamed the victim.
YES! This is exactly what I was thinking!
ya , he could have been p*ssed at his Mom but still that she was dizzy and stuff still leads me to believe she fell BUT hey, again, seriously faulty defense, WHY didnt the defense try to pin it on Tristan as a way to get his DAD off or create reasonable doubt?
Yeah, it is sad. But let's face it...he kinda has guilty written allover him.
Anyone who judges that has never lived in a rural area.

Yes! I come here to write the same thing!
Couldn't agree more. And if he wanted her to die he would have just stayed on the farm! She was pretty much gone at that stage anyway, and he knew it.
Totally agree

This.... I was wondering the same thing!!!
Very suspicious.
also its a small town and I doubt that kids didn't tease him about his mother having an affair, I'm glad that we can all notice this :)

For sure, especially if they live far away!
I’m a bit curious as to why they didn’t ask the son what he was saying. He was a witness and I highly doubt he would be bashing his sons mother in front of the son while she’s dying. This case is definitely a frustrating one
Right
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT
I’m curious why she (the prosecutor) volunteered any words at all!!
the son might not have been right next to the dad and mom to hear everything, or if he was, maybe he was too in shock to really be paying attention to whatever the dad was saying.
The son did it.

I think it’s weird that the dad would have asked the son to grab the pet carrier out of the shed if he had killed her. Why would he want his son to see that?
Exactly
So he wouldn't be the one to find her with no other witnesses around?
because it makes him seem less guilty for exactly that reason. not saying he was or wasn't guilty, just a thought lol

Magsamillion Smagurfly exactly what I was telling my boyfriend when I made him watch it!
I think his reaction and putting her in the car would be anyone’s reaction..
I agree! I was thinking I’d probably do exactly the same thing if it were me.
Exactly especially since they live in a rural area so it would probably take longer for an ambulance there
Fr, my first reaction I would hope is to take the person to the hospital as quickly as possible instead of calling and wasting time.
Yeah same. That's what I woulda done
Love this episode for so many different reasons but all of them are YOU BAILEY 🎉 You are absolutely fab and so funny to listen to. So joyful, entertaining and relatable. I like everyone else wish we were your bestest friends!!!❤
Weird how the son wasn’t questioned as a suspect considering there were only two people on the farm and his story changed
Also, there were 2 younger kids inside correct? I wonder what thier ages were and why he didn't just have his son stay home with them.
That's what I thought. He left and had to go past the barn. Why wasn't he questioned?
Agreed!
So you were just sitting there waiting for Bailey to drop her video too? I’m so glad she posted this Monday😭
Me too. I'm so invested in her.
I wait impatiently every week for a video. Due to the time difference, I stay up to be able to watch them....
How well you know me!
😂 I was too.
Right! I also thought why not meeting them halfway? They can be faster at the hospital then
Yes, my parents first thought would be get the mf in the car and then call 911 while you’re driving. Or just pull up to the hospital
Okay so the son being the only one whose story changes is suspish, but also... did they question Jerry's wife at all? That was bugging me so bad!
Interesting
Was thinking the same thing straight away when the story was unfolding.
This definitely crossed my mind 🤔
Well I mean the Mom *was* a terrible cheater. Todd didn't have to work very hard to condition his son into thinking anything, it was no secret she had multiple affairs. The whole town knew.
Yes!! And Todd tried to save her by taking her to a hospital in the hope she would survive and that they could say it was an accident. And he put her body on his sons lap in the truck to cover up why the son had his mums blood on him...
Sorry Netflix, I have something else to watch during lunch today...
Great minds think alike!!!! Makes my Monday better !!!🥰🤣
me every monday
Same.. Netflix can wait.
Yes! 🙌
this is much more interesting
I love how you tell these stories
Bailey really does make an incredible story teller
Or its the son trying to get rid of his parents so he can marry his girlfriend or something.
@19 X wait what
Bien
I’m a spa therapist and have been listening to your podcasts while massaging for almost 2 years. It get me though the day 😂
The fact that the ONLY person to change their story was the son, Tristan? There's no plausible way Tristan wouldn't have noticed.
right!!
Absolutely agree. It’s so odd he needed to be questioned
Yeah if u watch the court videos he was so calm...but not weirdly calm (to me) at least, like he knows what's about to happen...to him.
@@25Rainbowgrapes this is so important!!!!
I was thinking the same thing even left a comment about it 🙌
@@25Rainbowgrapes I just commented something to the same effect. Looking to see who else thought that now lol
This case makes me sad. I genuinely feel the comment section and or Bailey alone defended this man better.
Lol
Literally
Right
But also the accident theory at the end actually seems feasible or am I the only person that injures myself reacting to injuring myself 😂
I wish Netflix or Hulu would give her a series cause I would most definitely tune in
Why? She has much more creative freedom here, and everyone has access?
@@jennifergriffith4526 why? Because she deserves it. She deserves more money, more financial and creative freedom, more people/popularity, and all of the benefits of her own show. She’s amazing. She deserves everything. I love Bailey!! She’s amazing & deserves a larger audience. I know you’d personally miss “free access,” but it’s about Bailey and what she deserves 🖤🖤🖤
@@MetalAngel61 😄 That you think it's about my free access. You missed my entire point, and I can't help that. Carry on...
I totally agree. I think the same thing for Kendall Rae. I love watching the both of them.
@@melissavanchena1105 Me too
I think the son did it when he found out his mom was leaving in a fit of hormonal teenage rage and his dad covered it up to protect him from spending the rest of his life behind bars
Yesss i was thinking that from the beginning and the dad knows thats why he didnt say anything
!!!!
I was also thinking..was the son interrogated also? Sad to think that but we have all heard those stories before too.
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING
Can we get a petition going to get Todd a new trial? Like, if there's enough public support for Todd and outrage at his failed defense team, is it possible it could work?
Nothing wrong in trying
I think he deserves one too!
He could appeal on grounds of insufficient or incompetent counsel I think. A judge would have to go for it and it would take a while for sure
@@StephiePpn He did with his trial judge. Once convicted and sentenced he can file an appeal with an appellate court rather than the trial judge. That would be the next step.
I'd sign a petition.
I know this is an old upload and not sure if anyone has said this, but Bailey, you are so VALID. Every single point you made was valid.
Thank you lol
I don’t hear him saying anything under his breath during that call. That’s a stretchhhhhh. I 100% believe he was wrongly accused
Does he have any accent at all? What about “just hang oaahn” or “just hang on” ?

hi friends, I dont know what I think about this one. He may be guilty but like...... was that enough proof for his sentence?? I just dont know....
Editing to add: Jerry’s wife had a solid alibi, she was across town volunteering and many saw her at the time of Amy’s death.

Am right at the 911 call playback clip.
I just love that she tries to put herself in everyone's shoes before coming to conclusions.
she really does, also she talks about the victims before hand and everything
I think the son had something to do with it. He was upset at his mom for cheeting on his dad
@@bunnygaffney6925 I was thinking the same thing.
I don’t think he got a fair trial. Unanswered questions and bad legal counsel. What was up with son? Was he working against his dad? Was the son involved? I’ve known a lot of farmers and many of them respond slowly and are very stoic.
The quality of being open minded. All perspectives should be considered
Honestly they’re blaming the father but I think the son is suspicious. Todd maintained his story all the way. Tristan went to the barn before his father even did. And probably small enough to get in and out of a narrow space without much of a disruption. Crazy.
He was 13 at the time, I doubt he was even tall enough to land the blows on her face much less the strength to skewer her twice with a dull rake.
@@rabbitguts2518 Some 13 year olds are hella tall- my little brother is 5'8 and 13. Plus, the boy grew up on a farm, I'm sure he's got some muscle on him.
I agree I think the sun was worth looking into
Rorie Burke but if you look into the sun, you’ll hurt your eyes //:
I was looking in the comments for this!!
this i just commented the same thing before i looked at the comments
Reminiscent of the OJ Simpson case. Many believe the son possibly did it.
Yesss !! That’s what I was thinking
exactly what I thought!!!!
Throughout the whole video i thought it was the son too!! How did nobody think about that
Wow I was looking for someone to say it.
