Love this mixer, I use it live for my solo performances and love the 8 stereo inputes for my synths, effects, etc. use the groups as stereo aux channels and it’s lovely.
I bought the MW2408 for church and it is doing great service so far. For me the mutes are the cherry on the cake. But you're right the flexible inputs are a big plus. Ta like, ppm6.
Guys, could you please confirm / deny if the aux3 and aux4 are mono? Someone was claiming elsewhere that those are stereo (on musician jacks), but from the manual it seemed to me that if there is stereo it's going to be only the injected L/R master, but the signal from aux bus is going to be summed to mono. Or is the aux bus stereo and the signal is only summed before the XLR out while the TRS out is stereo?
Thanks David - I'm certainly happy - the mute groups make life in church with volunteers much easier! One more thing I don't like is the switch on/off thump - do you have this on yours? Just means dipping the main fader on power up and down but I feel we should be past that now in 2023? Thanks for dropping by. Ta like, ppm6.
The entire monitoring section is in mono which is ok for stage monitors but a deal breaker if you’re using in ears. You’ll need to use 2 auxs for L&R and any of the stereo channels will only be in mono. Shame
Thanks Juan - it would be a shame if that were the whole story. But the two musician's headphone outputs carry the stereo mix (in stereo) plus either Aux3 or Aux4 depending on the output. Ta like, ppm6.
I'm going to be really picky now... that's what 40 years on a computer does to you. WAV is is 8.3 extension for PCM audio - or a WAVE file. Any question as to whether or not WAV is short for WAVE, refer to the mmreg.h header file. So it's WAV is in SAVE. NOT WAV is in... well... whatever you're saying.
My son once asked me 'how do I open an ooma file dad?' I said, 'a what file? An ooma file.' he replied. I'd never heard of such a thing. 'Spell it.' I asked.' w - m - a' was the reply. Ah, the joy of Welsh pronunciation. Mind you I've never heard anyone say wave for wav. Thanks for dropping by.
Good work Perry - our own experiences are often limited to small numbers of friends and colleagues so getting some other input will be interesting. One of my former engineering friends used to describe a recording gig (as opposed to a live gig) as 'wav catching'. Don't think he managed to get the phrase into the dictionary though. Are you going to buy an MW 2408? Ta like, ppm6.
Hi - the FX16II was much in my thoughts, it's an absolute classic and inserts on every channel are a real pro feature. Two things I wanted in the Korg were the USB to record over, I was sick of plugging in an interface to play back from the PC and to record. And the second was the mute functions on the Korg which with volunteers operating the mixer does make it a bit easier. I suspect though that the FX 16 is more solidly built. I recently tried a UI but I was guesting and most of the mix functionality was locked down. I have a Presonus 16R which is a similar kind of thing. How do you get on with the interface on the UI24? Ta like, ppm6.
@@ppmtv-qh9qk hi man. Th ui24r is pretty good, works as standalone and has a hdmi. I plug a tactile monitor to it and is awesome, no computer needed and also saves to usb stick. The fx16ii has directs out in every channel like the mix wiz, so i connect it out to the ui24r or an ssl 12 soundcard.... you know, the sound of an analogue mixer is quite something to me..... I hope is not a psycho acoustic phenomenon, but that natural warmth, thickness, i love it. I play guitar and i plug the boss gt1000 and the tonemaster to it to have sound thrpugh speakers and is really good for home low level sound, and if i wanna record , i direct it out to the ui24r and use reaper as daw for the recording. Or save to the stick. I think u d like the ui24r. U cam do any routing u like i side it without cables and it even has matrix, besudes the subgroups and auxes.... pretty smart stuff....was nice talking to you.... if you need anything, in case i can help, feel free by any means. Take care mate 😃🙃

Well covered. I bought mine precisely because I want a live mixing desk in analogue format. With a little bit of DSP on the side. Love the desk.

@@ppmtv-qh9qk Well - your response prompted me to ask in my guitar-related Discord... and I'm 0 for 1 so far! One for "wav" as in "have" :)
