Johnny Thunders - Live at the Peppermint Lounge (August 10th, 1982)

- Recorded on 3/4" U-matic tape that was found in a dumpster from a friend of a friend. I recorded this onto VHS, lost it for about 15 years until now. According to the original tape label, this was an encore performance. Oh, and Wayne Kramer makes an appearance.
Johnny seems to get more popular as the years go by
I've noticed this too. Unfortunately there are people that like him because they think it's cool. Sort of how the shop Forever 21 sells Ramone t-shirts. But they can't name 1 song when asked, "What's your favorite song?"
he left such an incredible legacy of work.
There's so many bootlegs, unbelievable.. It seems like everybody wanted to put every gig he ever did on tape. You could also have a great sound recorded with a dangling walkman....
Yep, near the end I'd go see him in tiny, non-soldout venues...
That´s right. It´s the need for the REAL thing and probably ´cos there´s no one like him out there today.
I was there and loved how he separated the electric and acoustic sets. Gd rest his soul.
Thanks for posting. I was at this show.

Jesus... found in a dumpster from a friend of a friend.. Great find! Fantastic or sloppy, it's always great to see & hear Johnny! THNX! :) Hey, I always thought this recording with the 'bleach blondes' around 15:15 min. was in the Mudd Club, great to see this stuff live!
No, it tells you on the official ROIR release...
poor Wayne to put up with this
Poor Wayne, Johnny was just bustin his chops. Thunders and Wayne did get along, love hate relationship. John was young and mischievous

I’m sure he had more fun, success, and responsible for more artistic achievement than you. Yeah, a “mess”, what does that make you?
