gota love the semi easy ones... oh by the way , i made my wife listen to what you said bout the use of your fingers and i quote " thats what she said " . being an retired auto/ diesel tech of 54 yrs. my wife thought that there was something wrong with me when i said that statement... but now she has heard you say it and you are also in the auto tech field , she now knows its not just me who says things like that !! thank for the help... hahaha p.s. she got a good laugh out of that to....
I’ll have to put a vote for launch fluids myself, I’ve recently put some of their dpf cleaner and flow restorer into the tank of my mk4 mondeo, I’ve noticed since it’s regenerating more often and quicker now. Never noticed any difference when using any other brand and for less than a tenner a bottle it’s got my vote as preventative maintenance 👍
Quick question. Is the Renault's EGR valve ( liquid cooled type ) suppose to return to closed position by itself or stay open when you pry it open? I've been facing acceleration lag. Replaced MAF and Turbo Boost Press. Solenoid but its only gotten slightly better. Especially cleaninh the EGR helped but at WOT there is a lag. Boost only after 2000 RPM. K9K 886 with VGT
Great video..especially with one hand!! My egr valve was siezed solid in the block....there is a small hole to the left of the two locating bolts...long bolt screwed into them and carefully tightened with ratchet...lifts the valve body off straight up with no skinned knuckles or swearing! Keep the videos coming they're great!
i think Launch should be sponsoring you, i would think you have boosted their sales no end since you started using their products so successfully your advertisement of their products must be worth thousands to them .
Great video as usual Jimmy. Sudorf do a nice set of 3/8 drive magnetic sockets. I find them great for those jobs that you have to be a contortionist to refit bolts without dropping them!
Letting the engine run for few min right before changing spark plugs or glow plugs can also help reduce the risk of breaking one. Especially if the engine has a reputation for that. Didn't know that kind of impact gun existed, nice!
I can't budge the valve. It's stuck solid, I've tried leaving the engine running with no luck. I'm going to give it another go tomorrow morning. Can i tap it with a long screwdriver or something?
I have one of these on a 17 plate where there are no warning lights etc but repeatedly the leaking EGR cooler has been replaced leaking water between the two halves of the cooler Renault clueless on why Do you travel as far as Bolton? 🙏
I removed our erg valve and it was bunged up. However no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the valve to move Inside. I emailed the manufactures about it and they said as its electronic and it would only operate when it's powered by the vehicle.? I noticed the one your working on is electronicly operated but the valve can be pushed. ?
Just as a matter of interest would this job disturb the EGR cooler as van in for service today and I had informed them of a hissing noise and they are telling me the cooler is leaking? They replaced the EGR valve in Jan approximately 4000 miles ago?

Have you tried any other DPF products since then❓
I think maybe you should now start to make some money from these companies. I am thinking through generosity they have been making a fortune with little recompense coming your way. I get you want to inform us on how to fix and diagnose these problems properly but you don't have to mention or show their products. Why shouldn't you get something back? I would make sure I did if it were me. The jacket with their name on is not for your benefit by having your company name on. It's for their benefit which is why their name is on it. BTW I have purchased your cup. Hope others are too 🙂
Soak with wd40 and warm engine at 2000rpm for 30min then attempt to looses immediately, Never turn back aluminium like steel just keep turning anti clockwise

@@gwap I did actually, I let de engine run for a while to get it hot. I unbolted the reservoir above it. hydraulic reservoir I believe. after that I strapped a tension strap around it and pulled it up. it also helps to hit it slightly from under the van to get some vibration in.

I tried that but unfortunately mine is really stuck in there and i was really afraid of stripping the treads...
