I'm on the 4th Outlander book, too, Chris, and it's on my shelf - I can't wait for Big Book Summer! I loved Why We Read - she's got a great sense of humor. Very entertaining. I can't wait to meet her at Booktopia. I am going to attempt a poetry book in April! I don't have a good track record with poetry, but you two motivated me to try Mary Oliver, so i have one of her collections. Love that you brought Bookshelf Roulette back - I always enjoyed that on Literary Disco. I'm currently reading another Booktopia book, The Audacity by Ryan Chapman. I'm with you, Emily - I'm always trying to see what people are reading on planes, airports, etc. E-books have really cut into my snooping!

I just finished two audio books: Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese and Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty. They were very different from each other, but great on audio! Love your videos. It’s always good to see Book Cougars pop up in my podcast and UA-cam feed!🙂

Oh, too funny--I have been trying to decide what to bring on our trip this weekend and was considering one of three library books...It had crossed my mind that I probably shouldn't since I've lost (left behind) my husband's favorite umbrella and my favorite sunglasses on other trips (in the rental cars)...You've convinced me to bring my own books: Moby-Dick and The Nine Tailors (Dorothy Sayers), and, via Kindle, My Beloved Friend (Ferrante).

I just finished Brotherless Night about the impact of the Sri Lankan civil war on one family and really enjoyed it. The Tamil Tigers, the Sri Lankan government, the Indian government, the UN all come off poorly which I was not expecting. I think most authors tend to pick good guys and bad guys. This book is also on the Carol Shields Prize long list.

When I see people reading in public I ask them what book they have. Met some interesting people that way.

Really liked Intimacies in audio. it is a rich character driven novel about a woman navigating new (for her) environment, love and self values. She is brilliant but that doesn't make these concerns easy. So much packed in few pages, really recommend. Now reading Jane Eyre and finding it an almost new book after not reading since 1992. Not likely Jane so much but still enjoying the book lots. Just finished The Sea, The Sea by Murdoch. It was amazing, so, so good but 500+ pages and it flew by. Looking for a really good mystery if you have a suggestion.

I feel the same about the beach/pool. I'd like there to be a scheduled time when I can walk down the row of chairs and everyone will show me there book covers lol.

I’m trying to read The Women’s Prize long list. I had read 1 before the list was announced & I’ve read 4 since. My favorites so far are Brotherless Night & Nightbloom.

Hi. I’m a new subscriber and a relatively new booktuber too. I love your channel! I’ve been doing a poetry video every Thursday, and I’ve been focusing on Irish poets for the month of March. One Thursday, I did a video on the poet Padraig O Tuama, whom I love. Do you have his book Poetry Unbound? It’s based on his podcast. That’s the first that came to my mind when you asked for poet recommendations. 😊

I’m starting North Woods by Daniel Mason this weekend…it sounds so interesting…have either of you heard of it? I’m the same, if I see someone reading in public I really try to catch the title, there have been a few times I felt brave and asked what they were reading ❤️
