• Nakashima Woodworking - Навчання та стиль
My first real “fine” woodworking was a class to make a Nakashima replica conoid chair. After this video, I’m thinking of making 5 more and a table to put them around.
Girlfriend asked "what are you watching?" to which I replied "willian walker wood working video; the Bob Ross of wood working". Struck me on the fly as I said it, but extremely accurate. Love your videos!
I feel like I just went to the spa. The gentle music, the smell of sawdust in the air, the shissh of the handplane. And the bonus addition of seeing a talented woodworker make and admit a mistake (oh I am a Grandmaster at that part) was the icing on the cake. Beautiful slab, artfully filmed and presented, and wonderful skills. Thank you for the video.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for including the screw up, we all know it happens and it demonstrates honesty. Nice work hombre.
You are a true artist. In the furniture you produce and the way that you portray it. Thank you.
So beautiful. Wow.
I really love that you included the mistakes and troubleshooting. I worry too much when i make mistakes in my woodworking. Not happy that you screwed up that cut hahaha but it’s comforting to know even professionals arent perfect. Love the vid, table looks incredible!!
I'm a hobby woodturner and furniture maker. I've just finished a dining table and spent today making the components for a coffee table so this video is right up my street. However, it has also shown me I have a long way to go to be considered competent. I have the basis though as I'm "nuts" about beautiful wood.
Great job guys! Really beautiful.
The matching benches really complete the project. Congratulations!
Pettigrew Woodworks They enhance the set as a fully developed composition. Beautiful materials
Stunning table. Lovely joint project
That’s a beautiful table and benches.
Truely wonderful. Two craftsmen at work. A pleasure to watch.
Excellent piece, true craftsmanship
Love it. There is no angle where you cannot get a "beauty shot" of this piece.
I love his use of the natural resources and try to keep the natural look. The knots are just part of the beauty in the wood.
Beautiful table! That grain is incredible! I am sure Nakashima would be proud.
When you said, “as always...thanks for watching.” I was about to click to another video...I noticed there was a few mins more at the end... so glad I watched it all! The lady of the house reaction was special! The piece of furniture you made there is very beautiful!
George would be proud! Thanks for sharing this process. The energy and craftsmanship is on point
Gorgeous table, great work guys
A beautiful piece well made, a beautiful story well told.
stunning as always Mr. Walker!
Gorgeous. Well done, sirs... well done.
Absolutely beautiful! George is smiling!
damn, that wood and that style, just perfect!
Stunning! Well done.
Beautiful as always.
Absolutely gorgeous! The craftsmanship is just so astounding! I loved the video. Your work just keeps getting better!
I do believe George would be very proud of your effort. In a word, magnificent.
Im not one to comment on videos and this may honestly be my first comment on UA-cam period but i love the table and the history behind your connection. Its inspiring to watch. Thanks Joey Council
WOW BEAUTIFUL
Beautiful piece, very inspiring.
That’s beautiful man! Your stories get to me as much or more than the wood working. Just stunning!!
A gorgeous piece of work.
The look on the clients face at the end says it all - a stunning piece of furniture! Well done and a great video👍👍
Beautiful table, beautiful filming, and beautiful story. This one checked off all the boxes for me. thanks for sharing!
Awsome table and very professional video - well done.
Simply stunning!!! I am so great full to see another video of yours. I always look forward to them, and hearing your stories.
I love the smiles on your clients faces at the end
I'm not sure what it is about the style of your videos, they are absolutely mesmerizing. Fabulous work! I hope you keep it up to inspire the rest of us, like myself, lowly garage wannabes. (not actually that bad but just too much work in the way!)
Also a HUGE Grizzly fan! Thanks again. Pat
BTW, I really appreciate the honesty!!
We all make mistakes, MOST just aren't honest enough to put on "tape"!
One of the best storytellers in this space. I love the ending shots of the install and family, it brings it all together.
Stunning as always William. I never tire of your story telling and your woodworking is always equally amazing.
Good job William 👍🏼
Outstanding brother! I love Nakashima as well👍🇺🇸
Beautiful piece of art!
Love it! Beautiful job!
Wow. Beautiful work.
Absolutely stunning! Great editing as well, always a joy to watch your content. Keep up the A++ work!
A gentle approach and build. The respect for the timber and process of transformation is its legacy. Well done.
Thnx for showing the mistake. I live close to nakashimas shop and he influenced my work and I hadn't realized it until I was an adult. I saw a chair in the Philadelphia museum of art and it dawned on me his importance. His work had help mold me in an unconcious way and I'm glad his inspiration drove you to create such a beautiful piece.
Incredible piece and a worthy tribute. I actually live about 2 miles from the Nakashima compound. Seeing his work is a big part of what got me into making sawdust.
Wonderful work. Thank you for it, and for continuing George Nakashima's vision. 👁️
Beautiful table! I love how you capture the slow, peaceful, sometimes frustrating nature of woodworking in your videos. They’re a pleasure to watch and your skill is very inspiring.
Absolutely stunning. Wonderful job!
really beautiful table and nice video stunning wood
Amazing work as always, William. Thank you for sharing and helping me to learn a bit more.

Absolutely loved the ending of this video seeing the response of the final result. To me as a woodworker that is so rewarding thank you for sharing that experience with us. Keep up the great work you always inspire me to be better with every video and this one was no different.

That is stunning! Thank you for the video, #WmWalkerCo #KeepTheChipsFlying!
Will, this project is your greatest to date! Absolutely incredible.
I follow only woodworking channels on UA-cam and I follow quite a few. Yours, is on of my favourites, right now. Congrats for the awesome work.
Beautiful piece
Those slabs are gorgeous. You did it justice with that base. Love the reveal shots.
that is a great video and a brilliant result. It's a beautiful top and your detail work was awesome, but it's the base and those joints that really get me. Excellent job!
Your videos never cease to amaze. Easy to watch and beautiful craftsmanship.
Fantastic Will! I love the table and the video.... This was a great way to spend 18 minutes on a Sunday morning... two Thumbs way up!
Excellent work! Big fan of the Nakashia Conoid style. like how you narrate your videos along with music and keep the tool sound in but not to loud.
Outstanding!
Loved the end with your customers, great touch.
Supper sweet man! love it!
A true work of art, wonderful story and, as usual, great narration. Honestly better than most movies in recent years.
Great craftmanship and a spectacular piece of wood. Your client has a beautiful table. OBTW..I have never made anything without mistakes. I have been woodworking for a long time. My goal is to get the number down to one or two. To me, it's not about not making mistakes, it about how you deal with them. I admire Sam Maloof and took great encouragment when I found a small booboo on a piece of his in the Renwick Gallery. It was on the underside and not visible. I am sure the other people in the gallery were surprised to see me on the floor inspecting the bottom of piece. Flawless in every other aspect. But strangely that little booboo connected me to him. Not bad..
Beautiful table
Really incredible craftsmanship & over the top woodworking! That is one beautiful table & certainly will be a family heirloom........... 👍👍👍👍
Stunning.
Excellent execution...and a beautiful result!
Beautiful work, and as always, beautiful storytelling.
Gorgeous work!
Absolutely STUNNING table and great video as usual.
Amazing craftmanship, impressive slab, superb video production. Thanks for sharing
This table is absolutely beautiful man! The video was also incredible! Japanese inspired furniture is what has kept me with the craft so long. I’m actually working on a big Japanese style white oak dining table right now. This video inspired me to get it done! Looking forward to the next one!
You’re such a good storyteller Will. I look up to your videos as inspiration
Definitely a piece of art.
What a wonderful table. Thanks!
Great job guys!
And as always, thanks for producing great content.
The figure on that is outstanding! Well told story and beautiful workmanship!
I love this video. You did a great job of storytelling on this one. I knew the piece would be awesome no matter what but I loved the story and way you filmed this one. Just felt different. More powerful in a way.
