Lmao
My thoughts exactly. 3070 Ti: Waste of everyone’s time, money, and - most frustratingly - resources.
but people will still buy it, esp. since many got a free stimulus check from the US government who didn't need it, and can therefore afford to pay way over MSRP for a GPU...and then of course there's the very recent hyperinflation to consider, which no one is really talking about, which is probably the bigger contributor to higher price-to-performance on these new GPUs
@@SteubeMan Lmao, do you think a GPU is the first thing people will spend their stimulus checks on? People have more pressing needs in this pandemic, actual needs, like, medications, repairing home, or whatever. Wasting it all on a GPU would be rather dumb.
@@dexter2392 you're right, there are some people who spent their stimulus on the pressing needs you described...but like I said, there were many who got one who didn't have the same pressing needs.
and it's not just the stimulus. it's a plain fact that the fed gov deincentivized finding a job for the lower classes because it pays out in unemployment insurance more than most jobs would at that income level. so in turn, small businesses are having a hard time filling minimum-wage positions, meaning they'll likely go bankrupt themselves...
so what will people with some free spending cash and lots of free time do?
Well, nobody's forcing you to buy it, so how is it wasting everyone's time, money and resources if you can simply ignore it and choose not to buy?
@@Longlostpuss because we’re in the middle of a worldwide silicon shortage? And people have been trying to get GPU’s for a while and found little stock and insane prices at every turn. But if you’re here you already knew about that and wanted to be obtuse. 🤷🏻♀️

Pretty clear Linus has gone from tech enthusiast to guy running a business to make money over the years. @@rorychivers8769 Linus is the owner of Linus Media Group and the UA-cam channel Linus Tech Tips
The main problem I have with these crazy new MSRPs with crap price/perf ratio, is that it has the high potentiality for setting the tone for future generation pricings even when the shortages have ended, and post shortage era, AMD will also most probably price their cards at a higher price for less improvement as a result, all while staying below Nvidia... (I mean I hope they don't, but a precedent has now been set).
I mean why would Nvidia not add 70% on the price for 10% improvements in 5 years ? Just setting that msrp and selling out shows them that they can, had they set the MSRP more reasonably a precedent would have never been set, and this is independent of scalper prices...
Setting an MSRP based on a current "first time in GPU history" trend just screws everyone over for years tom come and Linus is fine with it, but fails to realize what's to come in the future
Historically the Ti cards have always been priced closer to the tier just below than the one above, except for the 30series, (of course the titan was priced crazy for the 20 series though...)
And for sure the Ti in the next 40 series will probably be priced closer to the lower tier than the higher tier like before, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the price to perf ratio will be lower than any other series ever released on those those lower tier cards
The diminishing price/perf ratio has been a problem for like 15 years now from Nvidia's side (AMD just ride it), but not to this extent. Disliked shitty price to perf ratios? I don't think we've seen anything yet

had they launced the FE with larger vrams, everything else would be obsolete and customers would have it simple and easy on buying Gpus.
Ti200 once was the budget card when that first popped up... but it was a great one that you could easily OC to Ti500 (which was the top tier thing) speeds. Good times :)
The best part about the benchmarks was the music in the background :DD
The 3070ti is actually running for a considerably cheaper price than a lot of 3070s. I used Newegg of anyones wondering
I found the same 3070 ti for 30 dollars more than the 3070 on newegg, honestly a better deal
@@j_ken3424 totally. I’m planning on buying parts to build my own pc soon, and Newegg selling a 3070ti for $700 is only $100 over msrp, better then the $1000 they charged a couple months ago
@@JasonsWeirdPizz yeah go for it man, I mean you could wait 3-6 months and you might get it at retail but at that point it isn’t worth it
RTX 3070: SOLD OUT

This was his plan all along.
YOUUUUUUUUUU
"I haven't been drinking, though I wish I had been" hahahaa
"JayzDrunkReviews" is what the gaming world needs right now.
"They wanted you to buy the more expensive card first" .... yeah, i'd love to buy them too. *looks at the cobwebs.* Completely there with Jay's getting ticked off at this. No real reason for this card, can't buy them anyway, so yeah - put the effort into th elower end cards so people can buy *something.*
And why would they sell cards for low price, when all high price cards will sell anyway? Don't count on it...
just got one on the shuffle.... Even though its basically a 3070 i'm super HYPED!
Linus: "its great just buy it now!"
Everyone else : "Dont want to waste your time with this junk"
Canadians. They also think their free health care is great...
I watched both just now. Linus speaks neutrally. Jay speaks honestly.
@Awhoo Thunder really?
That's not what Linus was saying. Most RTX 3070s are going for over $600 right now and Linus was saying get the RTX 3070Ti at MSRP otherwise it's junk. How hard is that to understand?
He dropped it...
Next time you upload, those tyres had better be covered in marbles Mr!
Ayyyyy didn't expect to see you here haha.

@@boostedmedia Will you do another crazy custom loop for your next PC build? Surely a car themed build would be amazing.

Good work Jay! Keep Fighting!
Nvidia: no need to make leaps and bounds in video cards when you can take half steps to MAXIMIZE profits.
Sounds like they're taking ques from Intel 🙃
As long as they can make tons of money while selling shitty products... you know what im going to say..right? Look at cyber punk...
Why should they not maximize profits, that's why they are in business? no.
Further more why should the profit go to scalpers? or miners?
These cards were launched to cheaply should have been double to triple the price, then some of the extra revenue plowed into R&D and getting more foundry space.
Baby steps on the 3070ti
Props to the music choice again, really enjoying that you're mixing it up!
Got lucky a week ago and Microcenter honored the 2 yr warranty on my Red Devil 5700xt that kept having driver timeout errors and the Red Devil icon did work anymore which wasnt a big deal at all. I just left the lights off. Got Asus Tuf 3070ti and Im loving this card.
9:09 I like the convenient subscribe button you placed there Jay. lol XD
“Price point” in 5 years when we might be able to get it for msrp
In 5 years they will have new card series that are sold out and these will be after market used ones.. I’m slowly believing we will never get new decent cards at msrp any more
@@saveir6601 not even 5 years. 4000 series next September. Gonna be the same thing all over again. May have more 30s on the used market lmao
@@saveir6601 Same, Nvidia still hasn't done anything to ramp its productions, and mind you, I'm talking about before the silicon shortages kicked in. I don't want a used one. I prefer to buy it as new. Buying a used card is like buying a used car with unknown problems. You can know the history of a used car, but with a GPU, you don't know the full history of it unless the seller decides to disclose it.
I might be in the minority here with being content with older used cards for way cheaper that still at least meet the bare minimum. People are wasting time being stressed out over new expensive cards for no reason when you can possibly get something used online for much cheaper.
@@patrickgrady7505 People want the newest and best. You don't. It'd different priorities, mate.
I preferred the Corsair case advert to looking at the 3070Ti, at least I could buy one at a reasonable price if I wanted.....
I agree with all but one statement: I don't consider anything over 35$ for a PC case being a reasonable price.
It’s a great case
@@KGplays_ Idk man. I'm content with my old steel ASUS chassis from 20+ years ago. Works just fine and the airflow is fine as well. Max t°C I have is 63 for CPU and 71 for GPU (after over 24hrs running a game) (average temps are 58-62 for GPU and 44-50 for CPU).
No matter what jayz always throws some sick beats .. 🕺🕴️🕺
I feel like the 3070ti makes sense if you're able to get it unscalped and that's about it. I got in the EVGA queue for it within an hour so I'm hoping to get it within a month, and at $799 for the FTW3 one, it's still hundreds of dollars cheaper than I could find a regular 3070 for currently.
See how there're other companies that make these GPUs. Is there like a difference between the products? Even though they all say its an RTX 3070 for example.
You know things are bad when the reviewers just seem tired of Nvidia cards now. lol
Yeah well shotgun in the market with highly expensive cards with mediocre at best improvements on TI versions will do that to you. I hope this hurts Nvidia in the wallet but I highly doubt it
The song is Descending by Daxten for those wondering.
Thank you sir, but Daxten* and not Daxton.
@@SkyRex thanks
Love your honest reviews.
Well, a few months later you could buy 3070 Ti with only $25 difference compared to a regular 3070. One of the examples is Asus TUF. That way, 3070 Ti is a better option compared to a regular 3070.
yeah, I got a 3070 ti since it cost the exact same as a normal 3070 on amazon.
its funny how they were cheaper by a lot when i got mine might as well spend the money for the 10% price difference
@@damionpratt9844 it is not even 10% more FPS. It's close to 5% most of the time.
But hey... if it is at almost the same price as the 3070... why not?
@@TottoB at 1440p its a good increase at 1080 it's almost irrelevant
Glad to see you and Steve on the same page with Linus throwing some shade his way awkwardly
I love the mindset of "this family is a write off", it has helped me to just live with my 2060 (even though I wanted to get a 70 or 80 series from this family for higher resolutions) until the 40 series/7000 series gets here. No need to stress, my 2060 KO is perfectly capable of nearly max or max settings on most everything I play at 1080p... some people still haven't upgraded from 10/9/7 series, I have no reason to complain. #zen
still burning up my 1070FE, hasn't let me down, just the resolutions needed lowered.
This is exactly how I feel about my 1660S. It's perfectly fine for 1080p. Hope it will live for a few more years. :D
970 owner here who is glad he didn't sell it due to rage of 30 series release. Right now it's priceless for me to even play games at 1080p medium-high settings. Not buying a 30 series until I get exactly at MSRP
You should really be trying your hardest to buy 2x current generation cards. One to sell, one to keep. It would be a free upgrade.
@@millll111lllI that is literally the definition of what the problem we all have with the lack of MARP is... I understand demand... but it still feels bad to do that... plus this only works if you are able to find 2 at lower than scalped prices, HAVE the money to spend on 2, then are able to sell one for twice what you paid for it, according to your method... I just want to play games and don't have $2k+ to mess around with that
