Welcome to the worm hole! I bought my first PCP about 12 years ago when I couldn't get 22lr ammo. They are addictive, unlike a standard rifle where you have to find what works, you can tune them to work with most any ammo. It's definitely a blast to tinker with!
Eric, the reason for waiting between shots in a reg'd AG is not the same reason as waiting in a firearm. You see, the reg has to settle between shots. A good reg can do it in 15-20 seconds Others take as long as 30 seconds. Also, fire at least two shots after a fill or top off to again, settle the reg. Hi Erik, You might consider getting a Weirauch HW100 because its designed to prevent loading 2 pellets. I was using an FX Dreamline for a while to practice PRS around the house, but tired of that very quickly because in PRS we move with bolt open. With an air rifle the bolt stroke is so short that I frequently double stuffed the chamber. Eventually I switched to the HW100 and would never go back. The mags on the Weirauch HW100 are genius because they prevent pellet skirt deformation. Make sure you don't get an FSB model tho... FSB is full shrouded barrel. You want the solid steel barrel. Accuracy is crazy good, but more than than, the trigger is as well and you cannot double feed pellets as a bonus that few other rifles may offer. I put mine into an Aeron chassis that has worked out quite well.
Your finding out how picky that pellet rifles are. Pelletgauge has a tray to sort for head size, which will eliminate flyer’s. Every pellet has a velocity range it like’s typically between 860-880 fps. In zero wind, that gun should hit a fly at 50 yds once you find what it likes. If you have not tried the JSB 25 grain pellet, you really need to
Been a shooter most my life. Powder burners. I love my rimfires. Started getting into more precision shooting with my centerfire rifles. Got into PCPs about 4 yrs ago. It reminds me of bow hunting. Tuning your bow to certain arrows, overdraw or no overdraw, different flight systems. They can be temperamental, but if you mess with them and get them tuned right, with the right ammo, they are a freaking blast. That gun needs to be tuned. Your speed makes a huge difference with pellet accuracy. Most try to get it around 880 if I believe correctly. Maybe try a few more types of pellets, maybe slugs, and you could be stacking lead at 100 yards.
From the UK, I have own a lot of centre fire and rim fire rifles and pistols from 300 rum down to 22 . but I still really enjoy shooting air rifles, god bless.👍
Just an fyi... JSB allows for a 2.5% variance in head diameter and weight. So that's why you may or will see the differences in pellets from the same tin.
A rear wind hits the skirt of the pellet and will steer it all over the place more than a 90 degree crosswind. I have a FX MK2 in .30 caliber, watch videos about tuning the gun, you need to set regulator pressure, hammer spring and valve opening and get one hole groups before you put on your tuner. P.S. I have your tuner on a Vudoo 360 .22LR and it WORKS. Tuning your gun first is equal to load development.
Looking good, next will be getting the lab radar in operation and further testing tweaking the hammer spring slightly to see if there is any improvement of accuracy for a particular pellet. The least excess air behind the pellet , the better.
Those rifles have a regulator. You should be able to get at least 3 mags, before the pressure falls off the regulator. Check the ES. The tricky thing is the ballistics with the pellets. They are quite droppy. Things work best if you keep them subsonic. ~900 fps. is a good starting point.
The reason to wait between shots is the regulator needs to settle the pressure in the plenum at the valve. BUT if you wait the same amount of time between each shot * no matter the time interval* that SHOULD not matter as much, as the pressure in behind the valve in the plenum should be the same...so... 'it's your thing, do what you wanna do..." 🙂
Good point/comment. Additionally, i don't think it's necessary to refill the bottle after only 12 shots as Eric did between the 2 different batches of pellet. Unless the gun is unregulated, which i seriously doubt. All these modern high end PCP air rifles that have a regulator, will give very consistent shot performance regardless of the tank/bottle pressure, UNTIL the pressure in the bottle drops to the level that the regulator is set at.
The plenum on the rapid action fills pdq as its not that big. The plenum on an FX M3 is a lot larger and takes a second or so to refill. In any event by the time one had resettled on target all is good.
@@stillair1 Why are u responding to something i didn't say? My comment had nothing to do with refill time of the plenum b/w tank and regulator. I was addressing the question of whether it's necessary to top up the tank/bottle on a regulated PCP air rifle. It isn't, not so long as the bottle pressure hasn't yet dropped to regulator setting.

If every 10 shots, the accuracy decreases and the barrel needs to be cleaned to recover, what is the situation and how should we handle it?Can you give me some guidance?thank you
I want to see Speedy behind that - open up another worm hole
You need to attend one of our Extreme Airgun competitions 20 to 105 yrds near Waco

What ever happened to Jason and the needs more series ?
Use a pellet sizer. What camera are you using ?

Pellets, it seems like a huge rabbit hole to work into….😊
Challenge set
Texan vs M3?
.25 vs .30?
Hi Eric. What shooting mat are you using and what would you recommend for all around shooting in the field if i may ask?
Why don't you do some 6 ppc learning videos
250 bar of pressure? Wow!
Yeah! Crazy.
Well I love your gun. Pretty Windy, if it was calm obviously your groups would be much nicer and I doesn't look like the pellets are much different
i watched a little of your video was i not seeing something correctly or was it keyholeing at 50 yards?
Totally random question. Erik are you a concreter by trade??
Hi Eric, first of all outstanding content on your channel really enjoy learning reloading and shooting info but my question is regarding your scope and if you in fact utilize the full 50 power while shooting/competing?
Yes I can. Some shooters use up to 80x
@ErikCortina thats unbelievable! I recently acquired razor 6-36 being usually 5-25 and thought this was alot, thank you for your input!
I shoot airgun field target. Our targets are 10 to 50 yards. I use a 50x scope, as is typical in the sport. I usually don't change magnification except on the kneeling or standing lanes. I will shoot as close as 10 yards with 50x. It's just practice.
They come in boxes of 1250, I belive I have about 50000 left
Id love to see a Teds Holdover collab…
Erik what cal is that rifle
He had said in the previous video that it's a 25 cal
No better training tool in the world than to shoot pcp imo. I have two and my kids train off the deck and consistently kill birds at 110yds.
So...because of this new found attraction, does this mean you might be trying to make the Olympic team?
You did it😇
What can you do with a Daisy Red Rider?
Not much 😢
Does anybody know what scope cam that is? Is that the tactacam?
How do the scopes hold up to the air gun?
Since it is no springer, they will be fine
Over the years you have probaly found one gun likes a given load where another copy of the same gun doesnt like that load. Also you have found a gun can shoot many different loads shoot well or one that shoots ok with most loads but one load shoots much better.
Air rifles are no different. It takes just as much load development with air as it does with powder.
I GET BETTER RESULTS WITH MY GAUNTLET WITH A DONNY FL SHORT SHROUD AND A JEFFERSON TUNE UP KIT SPLIT A PLYING CARD IN HALF AT 50 YARDS . DONT FORGET THE DONNY SUMO SUPPRESSOR AND ALL YOU CAN HEAR IS THE ACTION . 115 SHOTS WITH A LARGE NINJAS TANK WITH ADJUSTABLE REG . 870 FPS CHRONO'D 22CAL WITH CROSSMAN HOLLOW POINTS HAWKE 2-7X32 1" SCOPE
I know you own wind zero, use it.. your groups will shrink even more..
What was the FPS on these?
Just looked like some were keyholeing but I was watching on a small phone.
That's money
Thank you
Erik, you say when you start copy the top boys and go from there, for god sake talk to TedHoldOver. 😂😂😂
That your own advice.😂😂😂
Tried. Haven’t heard back from him.
You watch pretty soon he’ll be shooting slugs out at 300 yards
Now you're cookin with gas,,,next step is head sizing them,,,get yourself a ''pelletgauge'',,,should be the final step.
Bahahahaha... welcome to airguns... weight sorted, sized, crimped and primed... for what its worth nothing ive tried works past a good tune... around 900fps for pellets. Same as 22lr... maybe i moght be as so bold but ive had great results with jsb (rredesigned monster) and also HandN both pellets and their slugs. My barrel is a bit picky but the HandN 25gr .218 seemed to be the best
Also you will see huge results with cleaning.... chalk and cheese with fouled vs cleaned
Hi Erik, you might find this interesting. You perhaps could build a new airgun specific tuner. Could be very lucrative as there are millions of air rifles out there.
