An FYI, it's not just that a Japanese studio that did this animation for the X-Men. The Japanese have a very long history of animating for American cartoon shows even going back to when I grew up in the 1980s. 1980s G.I. Joe TV series and the 1987 movie? Toei Animation. 1980s Transformers and the 1987 film? Toei Animation. Bionic Six? TMS Entertainment, Inc from Japan. Galaxy Rangers? Tokyo Movie Shinsha. Thundercats? Pacific Animation Corporation. Japan, of course. Of these, Transformers was the only one that has a very clear origination from Japan thanks to the companies associated with it and the toy line. But the rest of this incomplete selection are very "American" cartoon shows. Yet they were animated in Japan. The 1980s was also coincidentally a golden age for Japanese animation studios as a whole.
