They almost look nicer in their wrappers. If I was a rich eccentric, I'd have both a tin with the brand new unwrapped paints, and another one unwrapped for use. But since I am not a crazy rich eccentric watercolorist, I must live with my unwrapped pans! :P
Hi Glenda! I think the smaller tins from A Gallo do come in a box. This 48 set usually comes only in the fabric bag. Wishing you fun with all your paints 🙂.
Thanks for the info! Do you know if that's only the case if we order directly from A. Gallo or if we also get a box for the smaller tins when ordering from Jackson's? I must admit, I don't like buying under pressure from companies when they have a Re-Stock timeline to jump on! That's the main reason I ordered through Jackson's instead even though I am subscribed to the A. Gallo re-stock email!
Oh, I like the drawing stones, and would want them if I could still have the space to work really large they just look lovely and messy and tactile! I am always looking at Jackson’s but never saw these! A Gallo are not a consideration at all, I have to use what I have, which thanks to Jackson’s is far too much already!
The sanguine is definitely worth a try. The black/grey one probably less so. It seems to require a very rough paper to dispense pigment. The sanguine for large gestural drawings on inexpensive paper such as newsprint will work but the black/grey one will not. I like the colour but I have trouble coming up with a substrate other than sanded paper where it will work well, and all sanded papers I know off or have make watercolour paper prices look affordable, so experimenting on expensive LARGE sanded paper is a daunting thought.
@@GlendaVGarcia maybe a more gritty paper, like khadi, or even what we used to call sugar paper in the U.K., maybe cheap coloured craft paper. Good enough for Matisse to collage with… the other suggestion a light coat of gesso…
The paint look so nice even in their wrappers 🥰
