Idk if this is weird but I’ve never seen cupcakes being baked freely without a cupcake tin 😮

These types of cupcakes also work really well for butterfly cakes! If you cut off the top, slice it in half, spoon some butter icing or tinned caramel or whipped cream onto the cake, and then put the tops back on standing upright in the shape of butterfly wings. And maybe scatter on a bit of icing sugar just to make it pretty

I have made this before! I usually do them in a loaf pan, but this is a good way too

“Self-rising flour” is flour and baking powder, fyi, for those who don’t live in the UK and can’t find it in the store.

Do you not have self raising flour in America?

There are some brands that make it (we can get King Arthur and Pillsbury) but I’ve never seen it at the normal shop. You’d have to order it online I think and it’s not typical for American recipes.

What are you talking about? It's very common here. Publix, Wal-Mart, Kroger, Target, Winn-Dixie, ect. They all carry it. It's right beside plain flour. They all also carry store brand versions.

This is what's also known as a 'pound cake', for those who might want to Google alternative recipes or vegan variants or whatever. It's a classic!

Hey, this is awesome!! Thanks!! Two questions: I might have missed it, but at which temperature do you put them in the oven? And is this for mama only or could a toddler have them, too? My baby is 3 months younger than Oryn.

180ºC, and you've reminded me to add a rough recipe in the description too! You could give these to a toddler, but they are quite high in sugar so depends how happy you are for them to have that. If you wanted to make them specifically for a toddler then you can cut the sugar by half, but then they wouldn't taste as nice to adults x
