I was working at Circle K down from a venue called the Mason Jar one night when I look up and see Wayne Static. This was before they were more well known. I shouted "TAKE THE HOLD!", and he looked at me with a big grin. He tried to convince me to lock up the store and come see the show (I wanted to so bad! @@stryctn9yne13 The story that Edsel Dope tells is that he was on tour with Wayne prior to the overdose. The tour wasn't selling too great, so Edsel tried to convince Wayne to get back with the other members, thinking that Wayne's wife was creating a Yoko Ono situation. Wayne was receptive to the idea but Edsel soon realized his wife wasn't the problem, it was the drugs. Thank you for keeping the Golden Era of rock alive. We miss you, Wayne. Saw Static-X and Dope just a few weeks after the date on this video in my city. The love i have for music and all the different genres can be traced back to my family, for instance my love of rock/metal muaic is from my dad, classic oldies and r&b from my mother, gangsta rap from my brother and sister, and then techno and house music from my other brother. And i remember one time for my 17th birthday, my dad had taken me to a static x concert. It's a memory I'll cherish for ever.
The best part of static-X in my life was during the song push It I remember it was like yesterday I was pretty young definitely either single digits or just into double digits When I heard the song push It and the guttural ooohhhhhh quite literally pushed me into a LIFETIME LOVE of screams, metal, metal vocals and at one point pushed me to a career in music as a deathcore vocalist. Toured and the whole shabang way different genres but without that song I don't think I would have gotten into metal like I did I'll always be thankful for this band literally The biggest love I have on this planet is for music specifically metal and I don't think I would have checked out heavier genres if I would have never heard that song and that OHHHH I mean I'm sure I would have but who knows I just remember I couldn't stand Slipknot at all as a kid even as an adult I can't soooooooo pathetic haha but thats a rant for another time. Static-X was just something different and definitely badass. Spent hours watching newer live clips much love its awesome to see y'all so happy and shit 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘♥️♥️

Check out destroyer, kinda sad that one of the lines is "have a drink with your painkiller" but it's a sick song. One of my favorite bands from this Era of metal.
@@SynikalSloth87 yeah it's him, but in an interview he did, he basically said he doesn't want fans to call it "Static-X with Edsil Dope." He just wants the legacy of Wayne Static to live on, which is why the denial happens
Man, that hair homage to Wayne makes my heart happy. All-around stellar performance!
The homage is wonderful. I truly think it's time to show the faces of this tribute and take some well deserved credit for the talent X (?) is. I mean no offense.
saw these guys with Pantera, Mudvayne and a few other bands in San Diego back around 2001. awesome show.

Amazing! One of the bands that went thru the golden age and still managed to make it alive somehow. Everytime I listen to these guys, Korn, Disturbed...oh, the memories...😔😔
R.I.P Wayne, your boys are killing it...😭
Saw you guys in the early 2ks, you had 30 Seconds to Mars open for you in the House of Blues. Such a great show an amazing band!
That mask and headgear is intense and I love it! These guys rock hard as heck live!
This video would bring a tear to your eye, so glad the original band is together, this singer is doing a tremendous job , Wayne would be definitely proud ! BRAVO
RIP Wayne. Edsel will continue your incredible legacy.
Covered this song and used it to close our set 5 years ago so when this song hit my adrenaline was through the roof , was able to rage one last time for the night , even though by this point I was dehydrated as fuck , would definitely see static x again,
Man. Would have been cool to see this. Last week too. I won’t miss them next time they come to Orlando!
Saw Static-X once live in Toledo, OH about 20 years ago. Playing in a small venue like this... loudest show I've ever been to. My ears bled for days. And I'd do it again.
RIP Wayne.
Rarely is the heart of a band ever replaced, let alone replaced successfully. This is hands down the only time I've seen it done perfectly. I wish them the best.
This is so tastefully done, I've no doubt Wayne would have approved
Wayne would be proud and Zero is the perfect extension to him. It's funny this video showed up in my feed since I was just listening to Static-X with my girl tonight during dinner. The X has been an icon for both of us since WDT and we've been listening to them since 2000. 23 years later they still sound just as good as back in the days. Love these guys!
Xer0, not Zero.
Always bums me out that I never got the chance to see Static-X in concert. Glad to see they're still doing things, even with the loss of Wayne.
I was going to see them, even had tickets, just a few after Wayne passed.
That show was kick ass. I totally saw the selfie stick and was like WTF is that. Now I'm glad you did it lol.
Thanks!
This is awesome. I got into static x from high school 2003 and once saw Wayne in the mall while working at GameStop at Norfolk,Va. seemed like such a humble guy and wish i would have had the courage to have met him. The fact this is still going on in his name is incredible and speaks to the community. Much love for everyone ❤
Locobazooka 1999 - 3 Stages, Headliners: Primus, System of the Down and Staind. Show stealers: Static-X and the DEBUT of Slipknot. This concert was legendary and I will never forgot it. Thank you for keeping the Golden Era of rock alive. We miss you, Wayne. Saw Static-X and Dope just a few weeks after the date on this video in my city. Xero did such a great job and stopped to talk to almost every Static-X fan he could. Reignited my love for Static-X and remembering the old days of tripping balls watching them at Northern lights countless times.

I grew up with Static-X and seeing this performance made me shed a tear. It took a lot to fill in Wayne's shoes and this man delivered! I'll sure be looking to catch them live one day!
KEEPING THE BRAND ALIVE bravo boys
Thanks for the great quality video! Can't wait to see this show live 🤘
Thanks for watching!!!
I’ve been a fan since I was a kid & Xero sounds great Wayne would love you continuing. Keeping him alive forever

I saw them when I was 16, the original band, most badass show I ever saw. Wayne Static was something else. They came back out after finishing cause we were cheering so hard, and played 3 more songs. I'll never forget. RIP.
OMG static-x was my first live show, like 20 years ago! ❤❤❤
*THIS IS AMAZING !!* 😍
Big fact!
You’d never catch me near the X… but this, I’m glad i stopped bye, this is killer! No, Thank YOU!! \,,/
I'm so grateful for being able to experience this song live with the original singer, Wayne probably over a decade ago. It was life changing walking into the venue with Static-X performing that song.
This gave me chills. Especially when I tough that without wayne the band wont be the same. But this guy xero freaking nailed. Stunning performance his vocals are sick.
This video gives me chills everytime I watch it
His voice is amazing
Xer0
I am so happy to see this band is still around. Rest in peace Wayne. They’re keeping your dream alive.
Holy shit, he sounds almost IDENTICAL to Wayne.... Static x is the band that actually got me into metal at such a young age.... Was probably 12 when I first heard them. Walmart had their music video on a loop in the TV section and I was hypnotized by the entire song.
This is really good. I was lucky to have seen Static-X live. I think Wayne would be happy about this.
man i've seen so many live shows, and it's rare when i can say i recognize that voice, So edsel dope is singing in wayne's place and i'm happy that i've been lucky enough to see both live. Rip Wayne and great Job paying tribute
I am incredibly impressed by Xer0's performance. I really was not expecting this?! So so good. I had the pleasure of seeing Wayne Staic perform a few months or so b4 he passed
It was incredible ❤️ R.I.P. Mr Staic, you are missed🤘🤘💕💕
We all miss Wayne, but it's badass it's going on. Xero is def channeling. Rock on.
Xer0
Thanks for uploading! Seeing em next month and am stoked 🤘
🤟😫
You know at first I wasn't so sure how I was going to feel about along with many other fans but never had any real doubts. Now if it didn't sound anything like Static-X then I wouldn't be writing this right now. Honestly I'm really liking it and am just happy that Static-X is still out there killing it!!!
🤟😫
I love this, sounds so amazing!!!

Zero looks SIC!!!!! it's the first time I've seen since forever after Wayne Static passing. I'm glad to see this band still kicking!!!!!
Xer0, not Zero
R.I.P. Wayne, your band and legacy lives on, EVIL DISCO LIVES! Awesome job guys, Edsel does a fine job! \m/-_-\m/
I loved seeing you guys in Pittsburgh and hearing this song live again was amazing. Keep evil disco alive! ❤
Well, now I have Static-X back on my list of bands to see! Sounds so awesome. The new vocalist is doing a fucking amazing job.
Awesome story! Rock on man!!!
🤟😫
This is fantastic. Sounds unreal
Best sounding band Ive heard live. Saw them play with Soil and Dope.
I never get tired of seeing or hearing this music. Wish I could see them live one day. It's too good of an homage.
Just saw them last night in Buffalo, and no joke, they put on one of the best live performances I've seen. If you get a chance to see them, take it. You won't be disappointed.
