Kind man. Met him in 2015 at Will Geer Topanga Canyon gathering. His wife was sick but he attended, and went by bus with us to the studio. I asked him if I could give him a hug. He said, "yes" and embraced me. Gave me a memory of a lifetime as I reflect now. Thank you for your tribute, Ms. Judy.

I was at that gathering as well and Tom was so nice. He took time to chat and take photos. I have nice videos of that day.

Glad to have been able to share Tom’s memories in his own words.
I have followed Tom's work for many years and he always gave a memorable performance. However, I did not know anything about his personal life, he was a husband of fifty one years until his wife passed away last August. He also stated that they never spent a night apart. My condolences to his children ,grandchildren and siblings. Judy, you created a bond with Tom that is a part of television history. RIP, Tom.
I’m so glad you followed his career and now have taken the time to learn a bit about his life away from the work. His real life love story is an inspiration.

I’m sorry but I never thought there was any chemistry between Curt and Mary Ellen. In my opinion, his character wasn’t likable. I thought there was more chemistry between Mary Ellen and David. Also with Jonesie.

I used to watch the Waltons with my grandmother who passed away in 1984, She used to say it was so realistic to the way it was during the depression, I've all these fond memories of her, and now I'm about to turn 62, her age of when the Walton's premiered.

My family watched the Waltons faithfully every week when it aired in 1972 when I was a 13 year old teen. I must say this. There have been many good tv shows with very good actors on through the years. The Waltons however, were in a league of their own. While I enjoyed some of the other shows, I always knew in the back of my mind that I was watching a show and actors. With the Waltons, I truly lost myself each weeknight while watching a family's life in progress, learning so many good lessons along the way. Not one of you were less than gifted whose acting skills were so superb that I'd forget time after time that I wasn't being invited into your family home to observe all of you living life. I imagine many a good decision was made by many who watched the show based on what would Ma or Pa Walton do or how did John Boy or Mary Ellen handle that. That is a legacy worth cherishing and remembering.

I didn’t become a fan of The Waltons till about 18yrs ago or so. As I watched the series I was crushed when Curt passed away. I don’t cry easily and boy did that episode get me. It was like someone I knew and loved passed. He was an amazing actor.

Thank you for this beautiful eulogy to your "husband." I spoke at my own husband's funeral, which was hard to do, but I needed to provide what my children couldn't, those early years of our marriage. I think when you really love someone, it makes that speech a lot easier. I enjoyed Curt's episodes as well as he learned more about the community and the family he joined. Thank you for this and all your other videos.

I always found the scenes between the two of you funny as often Mary Ellen and Curt would argue, yet you could see they loved one another very much. Two fiery characters together. When I first went to open this episode I was so excited because I thought you were interviewing Tom. I became very sad and immediately felt a sense of loss as one would with a family member. Each one of the Walton actors are special to me and their voices are just as familiar as a sibling or parent. Sorry for your loss and all the fans who feel the way I do.
Loved your storyline with Curt, and I’m sure his absence is heartbreaking for the cast. It’s so nice to hear what a kind man he truly was, because I loved Curt’s character.

My favorite fictional love story of any genre, TV or film, was always " Mary Ellen & Curt", when I saw Tom Bower had passed away, I immediately thought of you & knew you would post about him. So sad! Condolences to you Judy because I know this must hurt you. At least I can re watch this love story unfold as many times as I want on streaming channels but so very sad today What a loving tribute you gave Tom but of course I knew you would. I am going to make a point of re watching the love story of "mary Ellen & Curt" again, right now on FREEVEE ....but this time it will be so sentimental.... you & Tom had the most amazing chemistry on screen! This is a very nice tribute to Tom Bower. He was busy all his life and will be remembered by many. I just watched, Day of Infamy yesterday and the heart break of the entire Walton family. This had to be a hard and emotional show for you. Condolences to the family.

Every role he took on he hit it outta the park, and, was a natural, I ALWAYS believed the role he took on. NEVER saw an actor TRYING to act like some of these so-called actors today. I think having done The Waltons made him recognizable to a lot of viewers when he did other work. But - didn’t prevent him from playing a diverse group of characters going forward. Kudos to him.

The Walton's is one of the few shows my 91-year old father will watch now, he loves the war years, plus he can follow the storyline. We are currently enjoying Season 6!

As a long time Waltons fan (I’m 66 years young) I’ve followed the show for many years starting with The Homecoming, and continuing with the series and movies. I always loved the Maryellen/Curt pairing, and the two of you played that special relationship to the hilt! I read a tribute to Tom online on the day he passed and learned many things about him that I did not know. What a well rounded individual and actor he was… As you mentioned, working right up to the time he passed.
