yes, I did make a goof on this! It's a Confessions episode, but I put the wrong closing trailer on it. So that's why Park Tales is there, even though it's not a park tales. whoops.
I couldn't wait till this video came out. I have been a photopass photographer for about 4 years now. I loved using MagicShot. There were some funny moments with using it. Here's a tip keep them close to u....not too close. Then either walk around and look around and see what areas can be used to get a good area. I've loved getting down on the ground when we had a service dog with Pluto.
Very interesting video!! Loved the tips and tricks! Best tip for me is to move around more to get the great photo. I love to take photos to TRY to capture the beauty, fun, silliness, etc. of a moment. I'm very much in the generation who remembers life before digital photos. We were usually just happy if everybody was in the picture with their eyes open. 🙄 Ohhhh, those not-so-good old days! Again, wonderful video!
Lmao!!!!!!! The bloopers were amazing I couldn't stop laughing one after another I think you even got attacked by an invincible bee. Great video the small mess ups are what make you genuine.
Amen on the candid shots, dude! I always hated being told by someone to take those stupid "kids grinning at the camera" pictures. Anyone can do those, and they all turned out looking the same to me. The fun of creativity for me was in grabbing candid shots. You actually capture the moment of people having fun rather than standing stiff as boards and bunched up like a bundle of sticks staring directly at you.
When I went to California Adventure's last year, they did an animated one of me and my Husband in Carsland with Mater and McQueen talking about how cool we were haha. That was pretty amazing! They also did one with my husband kissing me, holding up some mistletoe in front of the tree on Main Street (since it was Christmas time). I love that one, it's one of my favorites for sure!
Great video, and the videos from your trip have helped us prepare for ours, and we're already driving to Florida tommorow! We're doing a two day drive, but still super exciting! Also I love the bloopers!
For the jump shots, it's best to have a SLR camera so the shutter can be fast to freeze the action of the jump. That one takes a little more practice and to know a little about shutter, aperture and ISO settings. There is all kinds of simple photo tips on youtube if someone needs them. Thanks for doing this video, as a photographer, I was curious how things worked with the photopass
When I went back in 2015 I told the photographer it was -12 when I left home and it was 75 in Florida then the photographer made me pose and told me they would put something in the picture to remind me of home and when I went to see the photo Olaf was there
thanks it's very hard to capture a moment I have a great eye but make I make mistakes with my camera but it happens thanks for sharing I just got done from digging out from the snow and working back stage we have a great photographer his and hers work is great
I remember, my family went to Hollywood studios and when a photographer was taking pictures, he told to look down point to the ground and be surprised, when we got our photo with the magic, it looked like we were pointing at simba, Timon, and pumbaa who were together on the ground
Not this particular one. There are places you can order it online and customize it with your name. But because they are Disney characters, only Disney and the companies they license can sell them legally. The ones I sell are the ones with the "Sir Willow/ Confessions of a Theme Park Worker" logo on them.
I kinda miss shooting with actual film. I had a Kodak shooting on 110 film. Then I got a 35mm camera when I was 16. I still have tons of canisters of undeveloped film... lol
All the photographers (or character attendants ) were more than willing to use my camera which was wonderful. The only magic shot that was done for me was in animal kingdom, near the tree, I pointed to the ground and Bambi, thumper, and flower are in a heap at my feet.... I might but that one.
Hehe i wouldnt consider myself a great photographer by any means and have "missed" on many a photo. But then every photographer worth anything has as well
Posing for night-time shots is different than that during daytime, could you share some experiences when you encounter challenges while posing guests during the night-time events?
It's on my list! I'm actually working on an updated video where I show how to frame the shots and do things like that, and night shots is part of that.
I'd suggest anything Nikon or Canon. They are the two big dogs in DSLR's, and for good reasons. Canon is definitely the more popular right now, but the best way to pick is to find a store that has both and just grab them, hold them, and see which is more comfortable. A decent starter kit with lenses is going to run you around $450-550 new. I bought mine slightly used from a friend for $350.
I have a Canon rebel T3 and it's a pretty good starter camera. You should be able to find kits on amazon. Like Sir Willow said though, go to best buy or something to at least get a feel for what is comfortable for you. For me, the Nikon was a little more heavier than the Canon and I didn't want my arms getting tired too fast.
kids and babies are easy. kids could be bribed with stickers or other things. Babies like funny noises. It was the adults that kept looking at the kids to see if they were looking at the camera that were the problem.
We were at Disney in August and the Photopass guy was trying to give us a MagicShot at the Haunted Mansion. He said, "Point there" and then walked away while still talking, we assume he was still giving directions but as you know it isn't a quiet location. All four of us said, "What" and he never answered or clarified, we pointed to the location and looked surprised like we had done with many of the other MagicShots. He took a few pictures and then walked back and said, "You guys are no fun." All of us looked at each other and were like, "What the..."
There's a lot of good ones here. They'll also teach you what you need to know in the training. There is some great info to start at artofvisuals.com/the-basics-of-photography-introduction-to-photography-tutorials/ and www.exposureguide.com/photography-basics/
I do have a ? did you ever have to take a picture of service dogs I have a dog and Everytime he does something cute I can't get it any advice ? my dog Simon has been on TV 3 times and in the local papers 4 times but I think I sent you to your Gmail
If there were service animals in the parks, they were typically on leash with their owners, who would have them sit or lay for the photo. They normally were not allowed to wander loose so you could get a "cute" shot, especially since they were supposed to be working. There were some rare times if they were with characters, but those were rare exceptions. and then it was a matter of having the camera always ready and moving around to get the photo- which is what we were supposed to be doing anyways, animal or not. :-)

Your bloopers are a must keep, not that they are particularly outrageous, just that its great to see how real life works outside the final cut.
Thanks for the way youand all the photographers made people memories magical! It truly does make the family vacations memorable.😆
Just found this one while looking at your past episodes. It got me even more excited that I bought memory maker today.

Learned some REALLY good tips. Thx!
I hope I get photographers that are as passionate and animated as you when I go!

Cool, I knew nothing of these techniques, and now I do, thanks!

ROFL!! YOUR BLOOPERS ARE KILLING ME! ex: Dog barking. delivery from france! 400 takes of one simple line.
Thats TTT with sandy and me ALL the time!
As an amateur photographer, I really appreciate this one! I may save this to Favorites for future reference! :D

I love that shirt! You don't happen to be selling those, are you?

Any particular reason why this has the "Confessions" opening, but the "Park Tales" closing?
yep. Cause I goofed. lol
I meant to say how did you get pictures of animals
I have some of the pictures you described. My favorite is when my wife and I kissing our daughter.
Recommendations for a cheaper good DSLR?

How did you manage extremely shy or (pretty common, I guess) extremely cranky babies or kids?
kids and babies are easy. kids could be bribed with stickers or other things. Babies like funny noises. It was the adults that kept looking at the kids to see if they were looking at the camera that were the problem.

Sadly in every group there's that one... Sorry you found him.
Hi, Willow, I’m gonna be a photographer for Disney World and I was wondering, could you give me a tip photography, please?
