As a little background on this clean-out. The house was sold with the contents to a new owner. The new owner was left with a house full of a stranger's possessions and had to figure out how to deal with the mess. Rather than throw everything in the dumpster, they called Eric to help sort through and remove some of the items worth salvaging. That is all I know about this clean-out, unfortunately. I do not know what happened to the previous owners or why their family did not want any of their possessions. It's a sad situation, but Eric and the guys salvaged all they could.
Crazy Lamp Lady would love to see a haul video from this clean out.
Who will own the things that Eric and the group sort out of there? The homeowner, Eric, you, ...?
My best friends mother in law is a hoarder to this extent and they plan on doing the same thing when she passes. They dont want anything to do with the hoard because she has made thinfs more important than her family. Its the sad reality of this mental illness
Crazy Lamp Lady I’m sure these kind of clean-outs are not that uncommon. But what is uncommon is the load of really good stuff that you’re finding in this house 🏠
I’m just worried about all of you going through all that mess with no protection. Especially you with your asthma. I have been told that mouse dropping dust can be very toxic. And I’m so happy I don’t have smell-a-vision. I find myself yelling at the tv. Oh no don’t touch that with your bare hands. Eww! And when you turn over some of those large bowls and vases I just know a mouse carcass is going to fall out. Then LampLady is going to hurl a treasure.
Just have to quote Dr. Seuss! " and the mess was so big and so deep and so tall, there was no way to clean it, no, no way at all! " 🙂
Lark Davis excellent! After seeing this I realize my basement clean out is doable!
A hoarder with good taste is a beautiful description I think.
The Troll head sticking out of the vase...PRICELESS ... LOL
Jackie Wiese I laughed so hard!!
Yup and worth a bit depending on the length of his hair
The crib has a lid because if they wanted to take the child outside this would keep the bugs off of them.
Sheri Mayberry I came to the comments to see if anyone else had mentioned this. I saw one at an antique store a few years ago and learned the same thing!
LOL!!! omg the Troll doll in the vase----I was freaking out thinking it was a petrified albino snake corpse!!
Too funny
The emergency bags are probably from meals on wheels. In the winter time they give emergency bags to the folks they are serving in case the weather prevents meals on wheels from delivering.
My aunt's name is Becky Clark. (Rip) My maiden name is Clark💜
lol...I literally just typed that I had thought the same from when I delivered Meals on Wheels...and then I saw your comment :D
So sad that when we are gone people just dump a lot of stuff as trash. It's good someone is salvaging the stuff you collected. A lot of times stuff just grows then you look around and it is overwhelming so people just leave it cause it is too hard to clean. You are doing a good job. It's still sad.
When my Mom went to Assisted Living, I had to clean out her house quickly since her house sold the second day on the market. Luckily, she was not a hoarder, but it was a huge amount of work. I would pull everything out of the closets and sort into "Keep, Donate, Toss" piles. I didn't sell her good stuff, because she thinks she may still want it one day. All of the boxes of the "Keep" items are still in my garage and fill up my spare bedroom. I made my brother throw away the mountains of trash bags and a neighbor took the excess furniture for his adult kids! Whew! I was quite a month of cleaning out while still working full-time!
Good job!
Barb- JM ...now you know how much of a good job you have done. Awesome!
This house was so overwhelming with gems. I am glad you were there to find the collectables and not fill a landfill with them. They probably spent their entire life collecting these items, hopefully it gave them great pleasure.
This pair of videos reminds me of the Potter's House series on Curiosity Inc's channel - so many real treasures hidden in all the junk.
Cherrill van Egdom yes! That was something!!
yeah I saw the Potter's house series as well. It was quite interesting to watch.
Cherrill van Egdom I loved the Potters House ! Alexander and his family live here in my hometown of Edmonton Alberta and they are wonderful folks...❤️
Alice Hagen we stopped by his store in the summer - the old one. Now we have to go see the general store :)
Mientras to hit the like button 😄
Crib has top for taking outside in the sun. Ot was called a kiddie cub or kiddie coop. I slept in one 1943.
Hope you find some gems! I'm sure the home owner would have appreciated that someone will find and take the items they apparently loved so much themselves!
Love to see what you get from the clean out. There was great stuff. Keep digging .
Leaves me wanting more, more, more!!! Can't wait to see what you pick from all of the great stuff!!
I would be in HEAVEN! This is like treasure hunting at its finest for me. Those Christmas trees! ♥️
Such a daunting task but a great opportunity at the same time! I can see more clean outs in the future now that you have the new building to store stuff. Yay for you!! 🥰
Oh my! That looks like so much fun!!! I need a house to clean out. A hoarders house! Lol
I am overwhelmed just watching....
I'm loving these vlogs on this old house! That lamp was gorgeous!! 😍😍😍
I thought the thing in the jar was a mouse or rat that had been petrified. I'm not gonna lie, I gagged a few times until I realized it was a troll. LOL.
That's exactly what I thought! I was relieved to see it was only a troll.
same! I actually looked away, then when I heard 'it has a face' I thought omgno and it was a troll lmao
You are so brave!!! Everytime you opened a drawer or moved an item I closed my eyes, waiting to hear you screech from seeing a mouse. I dont think I could do what you did. Hope you found alot of great items!!!!
All I can say is wow. Amazing! Glad that you could save a bunch of stuff for future generations to
It is always exciting going through places like that! I would have loved to add the marching drum to my collection! So many treasures!! Thanks for sharing.
I love the green fridge ❤️
Can't wait to see what else you find !
💗OMIGOSH💗
I absolutely Love watching you dig through all that treasure!
😊 How Fun!!
Just WOW!..SO SO SO much stuff !! I would be in heaven ! I mean just totally get lost in there for days! A true treasure hunting adventure! 💜💜💜
I could spend months in that house digging and have a grand ole time! 😀
Wanda Allmond
Oh, my gosh!!!!! I want that milk glass lamp! I don't care if it's not the best thing in the world. I think it is beautiful!!! I would happily pay shipping!!
I hope you're going to film more! Truly enjoying this clean out!!!!
OMG!! Doing this would be a dream come true for me. Except I'd want to keep all of the good stuff! So I guess it would go straight from one hoarding situation to another lol. Unfortunately all I can do is live vicariously through you and Drew. Thank you so much for sharing :)
I would be in heaven !!!!! Love this kind of haul
Me too! I would have enjoyed this so much!
So many treasures...of yesteryear. A crib with a net top and no one who remembers when that was a thing. The world just keeps on turning and people get a day older every day. Thanks for sharing.
Oh geese! I eeked out loud when Andrew showed the inside of that jar!!! 🤣 But sooo much good stuff there. Bittersweet situation. Speaking of Andrew. He’s looking a little svelte these days.👍🏻
Wow what a house of treasures...💖
This is a fun treasure in this hoarder house you bought. 🌺. I like the wooden bird.
I am just overwhelmed just watching you dig for great stuff....LOL...Glad you got the ceramic Christmas trees. Sooo much stuff.
Those treasures will look awesome in your new place. Such fun!!!
That collector had great taste! Thank you for letting us in to admire such a unique collection of treasures.
Awesome! Love this hoarder house series!
FYI - Sometimes you do find the "real" deal items at TJ Maxx and stores like that. If it is a quality piece, it is a quality piece. There probably was a maker's sticker under that price tag. Don't always count out those items.
But she's really loolong for mod-century mod. So anything with a TJMaxx stickers is modern. They don't often pick modern because their business is based around vintage.
Congrats on your new property. I’m sitting here sweating and having a anxiety attack at all the goodies. I couldn’t imagine being able to do what y’all are doing.
Oh. Glad you have included Walter into your process of things. Again y’all make my day.
I literally jumped when Andrew pulled that troll out of that jar! 😱😬😂
OMG. IM CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF HELPING MY COUSIN WITH MY 104 year old great year old aunts (her moms) financial matters and she has several valuable pieces. Thanks so much for helping make sure we don’t let things get sold for less than they are worth!❤️❤️❤️ and yes she has a beautiful ceramic Christmas tree!
Awesome 👌 Love watching you guys, really like the end of video😃🥰
I laughed out loud at the troll in the vase...that was too fun!
Andrew cracks me up! Love his sense of humor 😁
OMG! I'd love to pick through all of this. It would be a love/hate kind of thing. Lol
You guys are so cool! I’d love 💕 to be with you to go through it all! Dishes, furniture, old Christmas ornaments! So jealous to have fun like you.🥰
Amazing and overwhelming. Good thing Eric is an old pro at it. The basement makes me think of a giant Goodwill bin.
i love house clean outs, i think you should have a part 3, 4, 5, 6,.............! great video
just like curiosity store in canada
LOVE the basket 😍 with the grapes 😍
So glad to hear your honesty in saying you were just mosey. That would be me.
That looks like SUCH FUNNNN!!!!
For these sorts of situations you need a way to strap the camera to your body - you need both hands for treasures ! I’m afraid my default would be grab everything and worry about modern/ broken/ perfect later as I’d be scared to miss anything !
Heart and soul on that piano 😀
That olive green refrigerator is a classic!
When I was little we moved into an old farm house after the lady passed away that we took care of and bought the farm from. Our house was on the same farm but her home was in better shape. I remember walking into the kitchen area and opening a drawer and a rat was in it. This videos is giving me flashbacks!
The crib with the screen was for bugs and mosquitos. I found one from an old estate and we used it in the summer for the babies when we were camping! Worked great!
My mother had one of those Tiki wood tiered things from Hawaii. It had a pineapple with loose leaves you stick in the top.
Yes, so did my Mom!! No one wanted it after she passed 20 years ago. Maybe it's the same one!!
I can't believe you can actually see the floors now, great job!
Crazy Lamp Lady. You are doing an awesome job.
OH how I wish I could join you! Funny thing... the Troll is probably worth more than the vase! LOL Overwhelming but the HUNT is SO MUCH FUN!
That yellow candy dish is beautiful!!
I love all the metal organizers ...I would definitely have took those ....I would have had fun at that house .
The Pachinko machine/game is awesome. I had one at 10.
I love the wood ice bucket.
loving those pink ornaments
BEST video ever. The troll doll??? Thought it was gonna be a petrified mouse. 🤣🤣🤣
Reminds me of digging at the bins.
OMG so many things! I want, I want, I want! Many things I have one of and would be great to have a pair. WOW!
The Emergency Bags are from Meals-On-Wheels!
I love your videos ,I watch you every day
Those emergency bags, I recognize. I used to deliver Meals on Wheels, and during the wintertime we would bring them extra bags with things in it like those food items....for just in case the weather was too bad on certain days for us to get to them to make a delivery. They would have something to eat.
Beautiful beautiful things.
8:01 Hahaha! I got so tensed up while he was shaking that vase because I just knew some petrified mouse was going to pop out! 😂
I feel like you should dig more to cause the amount of stuff that's there no telling what you could find , my goodness so much stuff..... I'd be in heaven I love those kinds of house clean out and this guy's taste is so all over the place.... I'm so excited to see what all ya find . Super cool I hope there are more videos of this cleanout.
What a project!
Boom! Drew cracks me up!
The emergency bags were from "Meals on Wheels". We used to deliver, and we always gave the clients an emergency bag, in case the weather was bad and we couldn't deliver a hot meal. The items Drew described were similar to the ones we put in our emergency bags.
Wow, lots of great goodies for your store!!! Hope we see lots on eBay too!
That green refrigerator ❤️
Avocado green! I had the same one grew up with until about 10 yrs ago, was the back up in the basement. Only reason got rid of it was the handles wouldn't stay superglued anymore, shame because it worked better than 2 new ones since. We had the matching rotary phone, too, took it to college. It lasted until about 5 yrs ago LOL
What a treasure hunt !!!!
So many wonderful treasures are being found in this house! I hope the owner actually took time to enjoy them. It is such a shame that there are no family members to pass some of this great stuff down to.
The Crazy Lamp Lady found a lamp !!!! Yay !!!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😁😁
That milk glass lamp BEAUTIFUL
You played Heart and Soul on the piano. I can play both the top and the bottom. When I was a kid my older sister took piano lessons, and she taught me both sides. We would share the piano bench and see how long we could play before one of us ( usually me ) made a mistake.
Josh take one room at a time, any other way, you will be overwhelmed
Love your hair style!
I live in So Cal and you would never find a house like this here! I get excited and anxious just watching this cause there are so many treasures! My mother just passed and I have to go through all of her stuff so I know what a task it is! I just don’t have the heart to get rid of any of her stuff, so I don’t understand how a family could just walk away from all this stuff!
Have fun!
sunny skies Thank you! Brought a couple tears-and some good ideas! My father is 96 and still alive-but is lost without her and will probably die of a broken heart as they were married 70 years!
They never threw anything out so we will be busy for a while as they have a ton of paperwork and my mom collected antiques-so everything is very old!
Thank you again!
I, too, am cleaning out my family home after the death of my father. My condolences to you. My husband's father passed away a few years ago and my husband brought back everything that his siblings did not want. I can't afford to do that, so I have to be more selective. Because I am so into vintage and history, you can bet nothing of any value will be discarded. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sweet dad.
I'm so jealous LOL - this is my kind of thing, not just all the beautiful vintage/antiques to be discovered but to spend my time shifting and sorting and packing that absolute mountain of chaos... treasure hunting AND decluttering??? sign me up!! I'd even risk the inevitable spiders... *shudder*
That emergency bag of food came from Meals on Wheels. We deliver those types of things to our clients for snow days when our drivers do not deliver. ☺
This is my dream as an avid organizer and cleaner and lover of vintage and antiques
God I love your video's! You two are SO hilarious!
wow! I have to say you guys are braver then I am! I so scared of creepy crawly's that I would never be able to do that! but it looks like you should be able to salvage alot of the items! makes me think that I am not a hoarder after all!
People do collect old "aquariana" like that. I like it!
You might want to take an ultraviolet flashlight with you to check for uranium glass. This house would be so much fun to go through. I am super jealous😂😂
she needs a big flashlight period too many dark spaces
I would love those white ceramic trees
How sad they such beautiful objects have been buried in all that mess . So glad they have landed up with you guys . What an enormous job though !
