The Pan Am sign, with its streamlined lettering, is a splendid example of mid-century graphic design. The lettering's serifs, all aligned in one direction, give the illusion of flight. Back in the 60s, Pan Am provided stellar service. As a kid, on a flight to Hawai'i, my brothers and I were taken to the cockpit to meet the Pan Am captain and co-pilot. He gave us junior pilot wings; what fun..Now flying is like an aerial gulag.
As far as I'm concerned, this series can go on forever. It's just amazing that the finds never end!
I agree😝
I gotta tell ya… the treasure hunt in this house is my dream come true 😍 I am geeking out with you, Jocelyn
Me too!!!!!!
The little sprinkler thing goes on a bottle. Fill the bottle with water and sprinkle on clothing to dampen before ironing.
My mom had one she put on an old glass Pepsi bottle
My mom and grandmas had those, they’d sprinkle the clothes; then roll them in a towel, put in the refrigerator to get chilled, and it gave the clothes a nice crisp finish once ironed.
Before permanent press days
My stepmom had one.
8:42 The yellow & red laundry "sprinkler": I remember my mother using an aluminum one in the late 50s/early 60s. You would pop it into a narrow-neck soda bottle filled with warm water and sprinkle all the items lightly. You would then roll them all up in advance so that the moisture spread through a bit and loosened wrinkles as each item waited to be ironed.
This is why I love to read the comments because there is always someone out there who know what at least one thing is that they came across!!!
My Mother did that in the 50's and 60's, too, and she used a soft drink bottle I think. We hung laundry out to dry on clothes lines and a lot of things were all cotton back then so they wrinkled badly. I'm so thankful for electric dryers !
'I can't show that on You Tube' and continues to show it not once but twice 😂
😂😂😂
Ok .. between Jocelyn's "that's amazing" and Gus's "Bake-a-lite", we could have quite the drinking game. :D
I’m guessing that the value of all these finds will add up to more than Gus & Nina paid for the house. It’s sad to think that the original owners could have kept their house just by selling a few items.
On the oxidation on pieces, try a paste of baking soda and water. I used it on some pewter plates of my mom's and it worked!!!! I was so happy! I am seriously loving this series!!!
Just the other day I was watching resale videos and said I just wonder how much more vintage and antique items could possibly be out there…Weeelll… then this series comes in with a literal House Full of Amazing Items! WOW! Question Answered! 😁
But you are right. There is a finite amount of great things. The collected, prized pieces before MCM are just about gone. They will turn up again in 20-30 years.
OHHHHHH!!! How I wish I were there with you!! I can hardly stand it!!
It’s like excavating treasure, but instead of out of the ground, it’s out of this old, neglected, plastic wrapped but generous and gentle but abused, giving house!
I still just can’t believe what I am seeing. It’s amazing. What a wonderful true life adventure you are living right now!! I sure hope you are keeping a journal!!
ME TOO, ME TOO!!!!!
I think she’s keeping a video journal?
I heard them say that "she worked for Macy's" and that explains all of the great stuff. She probably spent all of her paycheck on their wonderful merchandise. I did that when I worked in retail. So, where are the previous homeowners now? I heard they were still alive.
Jos has said it's going to be up to Guss to say how he got the house and about the owners. They are still alive she has said thT
This is like watching a quality documentary series. It just gets better and better!
I'm shook at all the endless treasures in the home. Waiting with anticipation 🤗
That tarnished tinsel is what junk journaler s and crafters use…I just bought some yesterday at a sale…❤️
It is surprising how much that house was holding, even more surprising how many nice finds were in it.
Those green lidded jars @5:43 are Arabia Kilta series, designed Kaj Franck. At some point Arabia used water soluble stamp, so that`s why they are not stamped. It faded away.
Thank you for identifying these, I looooove them!
Love these videos. If I was 20 years younger, I'd be all about this. Have a great day!
Finally, someone else who doesn't watch t.v. I haven't owned a television in over 20 years. People come over & that's the first thing they ask- "where is your t.v?" .. I watch UA-cam on my phone or IPad, but that is about it... I'd rather keep myself busy spending time with family & friends, vs sitting in front of a television. 🙂
I haven't watched TV in 10 years
Me too
We have a TV for movies. Selective with some things on the firestick. Watch UA-cam on the TV. Haha.
@@missyb.623 - I can see watching UA-cam on a television, that is a good idea:)
@@LindaKayHolevas not all features are available, like comment, but you can LIKE.
The green ceramics are ”Upsala Ekeby” from Sweden.
7:18 The cabbage and rabbit cookie jar without a mark is supposed to be Poppytrail Pottery by Metlox from the 60s.
Akro Agate is a company that made marbles and other things from glass in the US. The marbles are popular with collectors. Cool little pot. I'm enthralled with this house, Jocelyn. It seems like everything in it (except the racoon doo doo!) is something I just love. Thanks for sharing. Love your channel!
I’m so attracted to blue calico. That bowl was pretty. This house just keeps giving.
Can I say this again? Dayum, These people had great taste!!
Those green cups and saucers marked Ekeby come from the Swedish manufacturer Upsala Ekeby (1886-1980). Think they are from the "Juno" series from around the 1920s. And I hope you saved that blueand white thing from the dishwasher at 15:50. Looks like the Danish Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted... Worth $
Wow. This is overwhelming. So much goodness everywhere. I didn't realize MCM was so cool.
I've been enjoying this hoarder series, but I'm ready for more shopping.
I kept waiting for you to grab that fish! Finally, so happy!!😀🐟
This series is so much FUN 🤑🤩
OMG 🤩😍🤩😍That art deco green panther is just WOW!
That's not for cookies, all though it could be, it's a pasta cutter for ravioli.
I was thinking pierogi....but that's the Polish in me 🤣
@@UniqueJunqueBoutique I was thinking perogi cutter as well! 🥰
@@UniqueJunqueBoutique me too
Why would it make different shapes ? Wouldn't ravioli be all the same shape ?
@@maryr7800
Traditionally, yes, but this roller isn't that old. Ravioli is any shape that you want as long as it has two sides and can hold a filling
As sad as the situation itself is, these treasures will go on to be loved and appreciated by someone new.
I hope you can match up stoppers and lids to the pieces they go to. For that matter, matching sets and pairs etc. would be so cool!
what an awesome eye that you have. I really enjoy watching you pick and explain your selections. Thank you 😊 💓
All the orphan stoppers and lids should go into a box at the shop. Every time you get a container with a missing top, you can look in there!
The Chiquita Banana logo on the floor when you were checking out that Blenko Vase was very appropriate... such cool timing....it made me smile. 🍌😁
I believe you said the old owner was still alive. The elderly are often forgotten. She might like to know that her things are going to live on. Though other collectors. Maybe even some pictures. That would jog her memories of those days. You do not have to give money. Most of the times these special acts. Bring even more joy to you. 😇
Oh I love sharing this ride with youse, amazing stuff, this person loved, and had an amazing taste.
Not watching TV makes you NOT a boring person, but one living life. I subscribe to the same here....except you and my documentaries.
Seems like the old owners might have paid the taxes on the house if they sold the valuables in the house 😂
I think that’s why I can’t fully enjoy this series.
I am loving these videos! It is sad that people have hording problems, it's a disease indeed. I'm surprised more items aren't broken from trying to walk around in there. I love the jaguar lamp!
I’m loving the clean out! Also, I just purchased the lobster platter and two monkey bowls.
This house just keeps giving , over and over , it’s mind blowing .
I loved every one of the videos in this series!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Please do more!!!
Love, love, love the boxes in boxes!
The sprinkler thing goes on the ceramic elephant laundry sprinkler I saw in one of the earlier viedos!!!
The enameled white bowl with mushrooms was popular in 1972. I still have mine that was a wedding present.
Please tell me there will be vintage holiday items to come. I can only imagine based on your other marvelous finds.
This series is seriously life right now I can't get enough!
Love this series. The coolest aspect is thinking that all these items landed in the right folks hands to give them another life. Most of these items that anyone else may have just thrown in a dumpster stand to live a whole new life. So cool!
Good to know that this house was purchased and you and Gus are able to save these treasures, what an amazing video, thank you 😊 👍
Loved that green panther lamp and that red kitty. I like you LOVE the kitty pieces. Grab the teapots! so many people collect those and use for fun parties! what an exciting house for you. so happy you got to be a part of this! and for bringing us along!
wow what a trip watching the finds in a sealed hoarder house! Perfect for Crazy Lamp Lady!
Love these picking videos
So many great finds!!!
Hoarder house is the best treasures one ever seen and in the world. Good luck to you and your friends.
soooo many treasures you all are going to put back out there for others to enjoy...alot of work but happy to see things going to be reused and displayed and not trashed
I love those pink and black bowls!
Yeah one more video. Can’t wait!!
You need to advise Gus that there is more to life than Bakelite!
Amazing again, still ❣️
I love this treasure hunt!
the more i watch, the sadder i get.
Why?
It must have been so fun going threw all those great things!!!
Can't wait for the basement!
That's a Saturn Cobalt teapot from 1877 if it's original red wing! WOW🤩😍
And the hits just keep on coming! I'm going to be so sad when this series ends!
Yas!!! Loving it!! And that blue coffee pot!! Ya! Know?!?!!!
What a nice Guy , Gus is to invite you in. This was just a great learning experience for me. Thanks.
I have become obsessed watching this series. There is aplenty for all. Going to have to check k out Gus's Channel. I love digging into clutter!
The inception box, hahahaha
Those clothes are beautiful especially the black and gold vest.
OMG those cane chairs!
The treasures you have found in this house are amazing!!! Curious side-note: have you ever visited the Corning Museum of Glass? I LOVE glassware (I blame my Swedish roots! Orrefors/Kosta Boda, etc)...and am so fortunate to live about an hour away from Corning, NY. The museum is so cool...you would love it!
This house is one big vintage treasure! Wow!
The green panther lamp.....AMAZING!
Ugh, you're killing me....I see SO many things I'd love to have...and most of it is just the "whatever" things. What fun!!
Descending into "the pit of despair!"
Green panther.....whaaaaaaaat?! Love it!💗👍🇨🇱
I'd looooove to have the green panther lamp!!!❤
off to the spooky basement!!
Like the pink bowls with black rims
This is so fantastic. Is this the most fun you’ve ever had reselling or is there something that tops this? Have enjoyed this so much
If you take the finest or just above that you can remove scratches from glass without damage per a place called Jacks Glass in Ky.
That thingy with the cork banded neck that you called a sprinkler was for putting on top of your own bottle and sprinkling water on your clothes while you ironed them (I guess before irons had steam features). My Mom had one in the 1960's. She always used hers on a Pepsi bottle.
This really blows my mind!! I wish I bought this house!
The smoothie thing, unscrew top cap like he did, and I believe the little cap at tip of 2nd cap unscrews. If that makes any sense.
Awsome series! I could watch for hours! Wish the videos were longer! Gus could use a huge stock in banana boxes. 🙂
Wow that pan am sign is cool & old metal signs go for big $.. Yes that silver aluminum wheel thing is a multi shape cookie cutter. Dont see those anymore. My gma had one
The house that keeps on giving
The things you are finding in that house, I have never seen in my life!
If you end up taking and listing the blue atomic teapot, I'd love to buy it.
It's so cool
I love this series!! Lol I get so excited to see what ya all find. LOL
Jocelyn, you are finding a lot of cool knick knacks. 👍🏻
The small white pottery piece with 2 spouts is maybe Bennington pottery, you fill it with olive oil to have at the table so people can dress their own salads or use on bread. I think. I grew up in Bennington Vt, these were popular in the 1970s when olive oil was becoming more widespread in the US.
I am so glad that Gus is taking his time going little by little. I did comment that I would have that house shifted out with great guns. It was not to discredit the process but as the excitement of going crazy to get to all the treasure and clean at the same time. Lol I guess I am a little of a hoarder myself but my stuff is clean an able to see everything. I will get down to labeling everything in case to value when I am gone.
Yes. Been waiting
Lots of people love teapots! Great decision.
I’m enjoying this series so much. Such a great series!
Love that Blenko fish!
I WILL be bidding on the calico dish!!!
Please tell me you got that Kermit mug!! OMG I love it!!😍🐸
