Great job. Lot of info told quickly. I designed and teach a music history and harmony class on the evolution of songs that came from films and were adapted to be Jazz Standards. Laura is the 6th song on the 14 Films/Songs. This answered a few questions I was still looking for on the early film production itself. I'll keep an eye for your vids if you ever do the other films!
@@ClassicFilms1 Sure, the current course is The Mummy 1932, Ziegfeld Girl 1941, Iceland 1942, The Sky's The Limit 1943, The Uninvited 1944, Laura 1944, The Belle Of The Yukon 1944, Thrill Of A Romance 1945, Anchors Aweigh 1945,, Green Dolphin Street 1947, A Life Of Her Own 1950 & Invitation 1952, Love Is A Many Splendored Thing 1955, Days Of Wine And Roses 1962. Some I'll add later are Love Letters 1945. And a Johnny Mandel class with The Americanization of Emily, The Sandpiper 1965 and American Dream 1966. Also State Fair 1945. Obviously some of these are more known for the great music than the films themselves haha.
Please consider hearing the Jeanne version .we saw Laura so often thru the years she died more then twenty years ago and my death will hopefully come soon
I've always thought that too much of this movie had overly flowery -looking sets and the lighting far too flat and unimaginative for long passages. But...still a good film held up by the performers, story and music.
thanks for sharing your perspective. I think its a great film noir but I'd rate others more highly (like out of the past and double indemnity). maybe it is the sets and lighting that bring it down a notch because as you say the performances are great
Thank you! Very well done!

I am afraid the photograph is of Zsa Zsa, not Eva, Gabor. 🇭🇺
You could be right... but at that age they looked almost identical

There was another remake for tv starring Lee Radziwill, Jackie Onassis’ sister.
I hadn't heard of it and luckily didn't see it
It was so awful I think they burned the negative.
