I don't know what you guys are talking about. This performance was great. I laughed and Elmo's responses were spot on for a 3 1/2 year old Elmo. The voice was great. And Elmo was adorable when he said, "I do too."
People think the way Elmo says "Garlic" and "Vinegar" is his New York accent, but the puppeteer is a white guy from Philly. In one interview he says that because Elmo's voice is such a high register, it's hard for him to pronounce some words. AR sounds are hard because it requires your voice to go lower so that's why Elmo pronounces AR sounds like he's a black man from Brooklyn.
Didn't you notice that Elmo was spaced out?...Jimmy engaged him, asked stuff, but he was all over the place and they had only 3-4min for the seg, Jimmy was just trying to get through all they needed to get through & promote the book. Brian A good host lets the guests do what they want if the guests know what they are doing. A good host makes sure the job at hand is done - what the guests are there for! Jimmy saved the ''orange nosed noble creature'''s ass, as he was clearly unprepared & didn't know what to do...Jimmy gave Elmo plenty of chances to chime in/take over.
Voicu Violeta Okay on a serious note, I'm not saying that Jimmy didn't give Elmo enough time to talk. I'm saying that several times when Elmo was trying to talk, Jimmy kept interrupting him. I was just fooling around in my last comment (if you couldn't tell), as I was speaking as if I was in the middle ages.
