People think the way Elmo says "Garlic" and "Vinegar" is his New York accent, but the puppeteer is a white guy from Philly. In one interview he says that because Elmo's voice is such a high register, it's hard for him to pronounce some words. AR sounds are hard because it requires your voice to go lower so that's why Elmo pronounces AR sounds like he's a black man from Brooklyn.
Original voice actor is a black man and Sesame Street is in New York lmfao…

Brian A good host lets the guests do what they want if the guests know what they are doing. A good host makes sure the job at hand is done - what the guests are there for! (either the guests can handle it or they need help) & if they have time or if the guest is very good they let loose. Jimmy saved the ''orange nosed noble creature'''s ass, as he was clearly unprepared & didn't know what to do...Jimmy gave Elmo plenty of chances to chime in/take over.

I was just fooling around in my last comment (if you couldn't tell), as I was speaking as if I was in the middle ages. And if Elmo was actually supposed to be prepared for such an interview, it wouldn't be an interview with Elmo. Elmo is random and is at best when he says things off the top of his head.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. This performance was great. I laughed and Elmo's responses were spot on for a 3 1/2 year old Elmo. The voice was great. And Elmo was adorable when he said, "I do too."

I love Elmo. But without the brilliance of Kevin Clash, Elmo is boring and generic. Don't get me wrong, this new guy who does Elmo is great. And he's great performing Elmo on Sesame Street. But he lacks Kevin's amazing improv skills, and comic genius made Elmo one the greatest talk show guests.
I knew there was something different about Elmo's voice. Like there were some parts when his voice got a lil deep. I have to agree with you, i like the other dude that played Elmo better. Its not the same.
