I love how Elmo didnt follow the script sometimes, Fallon was nervous af, i've never seen him like that hahahha
um yeah i don't think he enjoyed it! and not in a funny "The Office" way. just look at his face right after he says he's 3 years old at around 4:40. he breaks character for just a moment when he looks at camera and actually looks genuinely irritated with the whole situation. like honestly that look made me feel like he was mad at me personally for laughing. unless he's just got a serious case of BRF 😑😒 and then keep watching his face after that. his laughter feels so forced and fake and he keeps making those faces. i kinda think there was some legit beef between him and the puppeteer backstage. i imagine he had some choice words with people after. he did NOT look happy!

It's fascinating how the puppeteer has the knowledge and experience of an adult but plays Elmo with the emotional responses of a three-year-old. Jimmy doesn't quite know how to respond. It makes for great comedy.

Sesame Street is made for children but the writers on the show are truly incredible. All all the Muppet performers are so incredibly hilarious too - so good at improv

I wish there was a Sesame Street After Dark for adults. Nothing too crazy, but these performers are so good when they're allowed to improv and be a little less squeaky clean.
Well I wouldn't go as far as to say that the Muppet Show was strictly for adults, but it definitely was much more raucous than Sesame Street (I don't think the Swedish Chef would be very popular amongst parents who are trying to educate kids about other languages and cultures).

Not quite. Muppet performer Ryan Dillon has played Elmo since 2013 or 2014, but this is still Kevin Clash who played him from the mid-1980s to 2012. Kevin was accused of some legal matters, but was acquitted of them all and still works with The Jim Henson Company.

After watching this, I honestly can't imagine anyone else having better chemistry with Elmo than Jimmy. Jimmy's fun and somewhat childlike personality makes his interactions with Elmo really special. It reminds me of him with Winnie and Frannie!
