I liked this dude's radagon modification, which is why he needs to understand fast boss =/= hard boss, fast boss = goofy boss, unless they have a combat style based on fast strikes. I remember another mod that added shockwaves to all of godfrey/hoarah loux attacks that touched the ground, while keeping the speed unchanged. A much better way to make a boss with a slower fighting style harder.

While I agree with the point as a strength build, let's not also forget that he is also supposed to be an animalistic warrior. His first phase, as he says, gives courtesy enough. Having his second phase operate as almost exactly the same, except more grabs and without a weapon, just doesn't do his beastly nature well enough for me. A wild animal that chases you with unnatural speed and strength fits better to me. One could make the comparison of him and Maliketh, who is swordsman-like elegance to the max, though he is a beast. Quick but also stylish. Whereas Hoarah Loux is quick and strong, but kind of over extends himself.
Honestly of all bosses, I feel Godfrey was already at his prime. He didn't suffered anything at all and came back to life just like us
Judging by his dialogue, he came back a long time ago, just watching us clear the way to the eldtree for him.

@@jerdnastark1399 Fought long and hard, implies that he not only knows that you freed the rune of death, but that you fought from across the continent from end to end to get to this point.
Everyone's dead or undead at that point, except for the knowledge guy guarding his door like a dog.
Coupled with hourax loux's daughter/descendant being knowledge guy's adopted daughter. I think knowledge guy picked up hourax loux first to serve him(common with 'good ministers' serving a boss), got her village's location from him, then directed a scene of a village massacre to adopt her.
Round table hold was simply a place filled with cannon fodder clearing the way with knowledge guy pushed to the forefront as the bad guy and hourax loux hiding behind the scenes waiting to pick the fruit at the end.

Crazy thing is, Godfrey was probably stronger than this at some point. When we fight Godfrey, he’s just a guy. He used to be Elden Lord though, with the full power of the Elden Ring. Think about the fact that even one of the great runes can turn Godrick or Morgott from the husks we see after the fight into the demigods we face, and remember that Godfrey had around a dozen of these boosting his strength.
Elden Chad 🗿 versus another Chad aka Cell!!
I really liked phase 1 and even more 1.5, that’s a 100/100. But phase 2 seams off. Instead of adding new attacks, they just made his already existing animations faster. Hoarah Loux is meant to be this big massive bull charging at you, Fromsoft made sure that we could feel his force by not making him too quick and this made his attacks have a very heavy weight. Now it just feels more like an annoying spam.
Godfrey is my favourite boss in the game, they changed his 1st phase phenomenally, but it would be better if they left his 2nd phase unchanged.
(I understand it was hard to improve something already so good, but making animations faster is certainly a step in the wrong direction)
Edit: some modifications I came up with:
In phase 2.5 make most of his smashes be shockwaves, make his attack where he just closes the distance to you be longer if you are further way, make Seroshes spirit appear and attack sometimes like with Mohg, make one of his grab attacks throw you over the ledge of the arena.
Finally someone brought back the 2 health bars, I don't know why fromsoftware removed the 2 health bars, he deserved to have 2
They didn't remove the 2 health bars. Quite a few bosses in elden ring still have 2 health bars it's just some don't because there either to strong already to have a second or there getting old and godfrey is very old

I have more trouble dodging the first phase than the second.

Honestly… as scary as it would be I wish Godfrey moved like that in second phase. It doesn’t need to be as fast as that, but some sort of speed buff in his second phase would be sick.

The modding for the first phase is nice, it gives something new and makes him more aggressive. The second phase though is insufficient, it's just hoarah loux 2x speed. Prime Godfrey had the power of the elden ring on his side, the mod should have given him something akin to innate holy magic now and then or make his attack leave the same holy ground destruction that radagon has on some of his stronger attacks

I know this is a joke question, but I actually have a headcanon for Godfrey that addresses this lol.
I have a theory that Marika was Godfrey's "Finger Maiden"---not even close to the same way Finger Maidens and Tsrnished function; she was still a goddess and he a mere mortal who caught her attention.
But I believe that Godfrey was a warrior who conquered much in Marika's name, and pushed his body to the very limits of human power as he did so. When Marika took an interest in him and fell in love with him, she granted him power to push beyond those limitations, gaining a godlike body and the strength to fell whole armies by himself.
I think Finger Maidens granting the Tarnished the "strength of runes" to elevate their bodies and minds into being demigods in their own right is a symbolic repeat of this scenario; Marika and Godfrey were the first to perform this process.
As for why this applies to your question...
Well, peak human or not, I think Godfrey wouldn't have survived even a single fun time with Marika without his body being augmented, let alone the number it took to conceive a number of kids with her.
From what we see of Marika, she likely had that "made of stone but looks like a normal person on the outside" physiology Twilight vampires do. Just a careless touch from her would shatter bone.
