I'm a pretty high level player and I have played against some top level Lily players and they say, and I agree that Lily v Marisa is extremely hard for Marisa. It's just miserable to play against a good and slow-play Lily.

Congrats! I finally found the time to grind ranked instead of just content creation and hit 1600 myself. Probably taking some time away from ranked for Elden Ring DLC (I’ll still upload videos). We use LP Gladius because it doesn’t have the same amount of forward movement, and therefore it creates more space. If you use MP or HP you’re always in range of their buttons.

anti-airs are hard. Is there some hidden tech that we can use. I spent 20 minutes doing the anti-air drill. Sometimes it seems like I can get a "cross-cut" gladius, but I can't get it consistently. I can do well against master level players until they realize that staying close-ish and just constantly jumping over me works. (I'm bad at dashing under them too, if it isn't anti-airable with crouching heavy punch or gladius it's SUPER hard.)
That’s a weakness of the character. The best medicine is to try to stay out of range, and if you know it’s coming you can try jump back LP. There are a few high level Marisa players who anti air very well. I’ve seen replays of Jimmy_DR where he doesn’t block or get hit by a single jump in.
Depends where you are on screen, if you're close to the corner you can do DR 5[HP]. Otherwise I usually do DR 5MP for the easy plus frames. I talk about that in the very first oki guide I ever did for this character.
@@ZachHenke so I mean a video detailing all her mixup options the mixup option I normally use which is the medium punch mixup(sometimes throwing in a Superman punch or drive rush into a grab) but the problem is it at the rank I’m at it either doesn’t work(like when someone plays defensive and just walks backwards after the medium punch) and I have to give up my turn or come up with stuff on the fly I’d like to know any possible sets ups or mixups with her

I love this type of info but it does not work at low level for me personally. I'm currently a Plat 1 and I have to prepare for the most absurd options after I do a blockstring. It's straight comedy. I have a high level mentality but low level execution. 🤣 Imma get better in time.
Yeah, if people don’t know when things are negative or have an idea of which buttons they want to press to challenge some of this stuff won’t work. That being said, at your level if you learn strong oki and develop a good sense of when the opponent wants to break out with a DP, you’ll rank up in no time.
I do have an older video covering some of the basics of that matchup. Not a ton has changed except we can sort of trade with fireball with our 5HK now.

Unfortunately I’m not a modern player, and it’s very hard to get my hands to work that way. For this video in particular you can use heavy punch instead of heavy kick. The only thing is you have to delay it a bit because it won’t go over lows like heavy kick will. Otherwise, if you aren’t following @Fem!Shep you should. She’s a master level modern Marisa that has put out some good content.

How do you feel about Marisa's overall placement in the meta after the season 2 changes. I'm of the impression shes a decent amount weaker now. Big bird said he thought she was stronger but dropped her 3 weeks after saying that as the meta solidified. I'm going to keep playing her but I'm curious your take.
@@ZachHenke my perspective is it's not the nerfs but rather the system mechanic changes. Her opponents having more drive gauge and the ability to reversal her and be safe from anything but a light combined with parry as an anti air being worse all hurt a lot. Anyway thanks for your take. Now how am I supposed to beat problem X? He just cooked me like I'm dinner.
That’s a solid maybe. Two things working against it: 1. I have the hardest time with charge characters. 2. Elden Ring DLC is going to have a bunch of my attention. That being said I’ll definitely lab him and if I find interesting stuff I’ll definitely make videos.

I want you to explain how to beat Jury with Marisa. Jury character is given me a hard time.

You can definitely react to a whiff, but you’re going to have to make predictions some of the time for sure if you want to punish their option.
