It's good to see someone on you tube that is not too proud to admit a mistake. Everybody makes a mistake with a scope. But at the end, it was a perfect grouping. In closing, you have a beautiful rifle and keep the videos coming.
@@WHOTEEWHO I also love the fact that you actually admit mistakes as you go. It really makes a person feel like your out shootin with a friend. Thanks for your work.
Local gunshop had one of these on trade in video today, heavy fluted barrel, OD green synthetic stock, factory Bushnell scope, like new $200...mine now !
Generally speaking you always want to move the bullet impact to the bullseye . Scopes get the best of everyone at some point or another! Your the man ,keep it up bud!
You keep getting erratic groups because you are allowing the barrel to rest on the fome rest. At 25 yards that rife will shoot a 1/4 inch group. It would be more noticeable at 100 yards.
At no point in this video did he get an “erratic group” lol. He shot a single 1/2” group near the end of the video. The other shots were sighting in. This is basic stuff dude.
I just bought a savage 93 22mag with a custom trigger, stock nice scope and a heavy berrel I wanted a bull berrel but the heavy berrel will do at 200 yards I can get 1inch groups with 30grain Hornady v-max I love this gun, it was not cheap but definitely going to be my fox and dog gun for this summer.
Congrads on the new savage 22 mag. I just bought the savage A22 magnum, its a tack driver. I like to shoot off of sandbags that I make by putting sand in a heavy plastic bag then put that inside a bag made from the leg of old jeans. my gf sews one end shut then drop in the bag of sand and close the other end with a ty - wrap. Happy shottin and thanks for sharing.
Who-Tee-Who, that rifle is a very good shooter. You could have shot even a better three shot group if you had rested the front of the stock on the foam instead of the barrel. One more advice, try bore sighting to save some ammo adjusting the scope. Good luck and keep'm coming those fun videos.
I have a Savage 93 in Stainless with a bull barrel and 3 x 9 Bushnell (Combo set from factory) and it is by far my best back yard varminter. The clicks are indicated for 100 yds on the scope, which means 4x the clicks at 25 yards. I hold a good group at 85 yards (2 inches) where I sighted in on a bench without rest. Changing ammo brands from Win Super X to CCI moved the point of impact by one inch to the left, and 2 inches high. Dialed it back in for them. Have taken out rabbits, woodchucks, porcupines, and beavers with it. Great gun at a great price (333.00 new, with bore sighted scope) A gun I will never sell, since it is perfect for my purposes.
Another great video. .22 magnum is the favorite rifle I have. Marlin XT-22 .22 magnum. Sweet shooting accurate rifle out to 200 yards. Has as much power at 100 yards as a .22 long rifle at the muzzle. Great day and night hunting gun for small and medium game year round. Not near as loud as a .223 and plenty of killing power. Looking forward to more videos of this gun.
I own this rifle with a Redfield optic on it. It is so accurate, and holds its accuracy perfectly. It is my coyote/hog hunting rifle, I have shot 19 coyotes and 6 hogs on my families ranch over the past 2 years with this thing. Drops them every time. I can shoot a 1inch group of 5 from 100 yards with mine, its crazy accurate.
Good video. Glad to see that I'm not the only one who adjusts my scope the wrong way! Been considering one of these. Just watched a video where a guy dropped a hog with a .22WMR.
Scope sighting *can* be a PITA (not the bread) sometimes! 1. *ALWAYS* shoot 3 or 5 shot groups between adjustments to compensate for human and ammo errors....adjust from the center of the group. 2. *ALWAYS* count your clicks on the adjustment knobs. They usually are 1/4 or 1/2 MOA (inch at 100yrds) adjustments. 3. If possible (usually on bolt guns) set the rifle in a stable rest, remove the bolt and *LOOK* down the barrel and then *without* moving the rifle, look through the scope before starting to send rounds (kind of a visual bore sighting) to get you close....for free. 😉👍
The bore sighting definitely works, I usually wait until night and do it from inside my house with a street light. Pick one 50ish away and line the barrel up then set the scope to match and you’ll be very close every time
As noted already, when resting the barrel on the foam rest, you are putting upward pressure on the barrel. Next time rest the stock on the foam rest and you will have much better results
Ez zero. Aim at your original point of aim. While looking through the scope turn your knobs until the reticle is on the point of impact. Repeat the process as needed.
The savage rifles are a very accurate gun and they are actually really a decent price. My Dad bought a savage 338 lapua magnum and that rifle is dead on target every time and I have shot my uncle's savage 22 magnum quite a bit and I have been impressed with it every time. Great show 👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
I enjoy watching your video's. I just bought a savage 93 FVSS .22 magnum. I do the same thing with adjusting scope, even worst I keep forgetting which way is up, down ,and sideways.
I would like to recommend you more efficient scope zeroing method. For this you will need shooting stand or something to keep riffle in the fixed position. Shoot 2 bullets, mark holes with high visible sticker dots, watch trough scope and put center of scope on that dots (holes) by dialing wind-height knobs. Shoot 2 more bullets to check adjustment. That is all, only important is to keep rifle in the fixed position all the time in the processes.
That can be very practical when you need to zeroed high caliber rifles with much more expensive ammo then rimfire, here in Chile just one bullet in cal. 308 can be 3-4 USD =/
I have the same rifle, they shoot awesome. Try not to rest your barrel on your bag, it will keep the rifle consistent. My 93 F really like the CCI green TNT lead free 30 grainers.
Savage and Ruger are both great, and still American made, as far as I know. I prefer them over a Remington. I would maybe consider some older Rems, like their 870 Wingmaster or older 700, but they really havent impressed me, with anything Freedom Group made.
@@markc6207 They definitely hold their own in the accuracy department. Im not sure how well the Axis series shoots, but their 10/110 is excellent. The savage stevens 200 rifles are accurate too. Also, easy to upgrade them to better stocks. Havent been able to get myself to buy a Axis or a Ruger American rifle, not that they are bad, but not a lot more and you can sometimes have a better rifle if watch for the deals, especially on the used market. They are still tempting though. Maybe if Ruger makes a gen 2 style stock for their Ruger A rifles, then I might have to give one a try. The gen 2 axis stock feels better.
Awesome video, I love my 22 mag too! But I have all these guys telling me how much better the 17 is. But its so dang expensive! Im just happy with my 22! Keep the videos coming! you may want a comparison video one day. but like I said lots of money for a tiny little bullet
Great video!!! I'm gonna eventually buy me a .22 magnum rifle. Would love to have the CZ semi-auto. Love both of my Savage rifles, tho. .223 & .243. Both with 2lb 6oz triggers.
Bought one in .17 HMR for my son last year on his 11th birthday. He loves it. His came with a stainless heavy barrel and no sights. Really nice shooter.
I'm pretending this is your rest day for your shoulder, since last night I was watching your heavy 45-70 bear load and maple stump videos. I just shot a bunch of 22 rifles and pistol yesterday, and now want a 17 HMR or 22 WMR to go with them. A reliable semiautomatic in either would be ideal, but bolt actions seem much more common.
You think .22lr is hard to feed reliably? .22 magnum is even tougher. That's why you don't see many semi-auto in .22 mag. Due to the rimmed case, I would imagine. They wanna snag each other, out of the magazine. Probably why we don't see double stack magazine .22lr's, also.
Another great video, looks like a sweet gun, I’m guessing the owner before you never sighted the gun in though with the scope! I have seen many reviews on my very favorite pistol, but I would enjoy seeing your review on it sometime, the fn 5.7 pistol, mkII
Just picked one up today on clearance for $250 Canadian. Up here there is lots of 22 ammo, seems a lot of people in states have a hard time finding it.

Quick and dirty scope adjust, shoot a group,, hold point of aim, then while looking through scope adjust reticle to point of impact. This will save tons of time chasing your zero and save ammo too.
Both of the .22 magnum rifles I have owned were 10 ring shooters at 100 yards. The Remington I did have I do believe had a better barrel and was extremely accurate but it was a semi-auto and it was to easy to burn to much ammo. I now have a bolt action Ruger I very much like and have a wonderful time shooting chucks at long ranges for a .22.
I've been considering adding one of these or the newer B22 magnum to the collection as a survival rifle. Bolt action so simple and reliable, 22 mag is powerful enough without destroying small game...seems like a logical choice. How are the Barska scopes? I've never used one. I've been liking the Nikon scopes lately but usually shoot with Vortex scopes.
I love savages an 22 mags !! Very cool you enjoy them both my friend! You should definitly do a jug or paper plate test with at 40yds youl be impressed!!!
Just got mine home to day first 5 shots at 30 yd. covered with a dime, but low left so centered it up, but was too cold for me my group opened up a bit, it is - 7 C hear so will try 50 yd when it warms up some. My bench is frozen to the ground. so could not move it back. I was not using a rest just holding on the bench. I love Savages they all shoot great wright out of the box no mods necessary, and great triggers. You will do much better if you do not rest the barrel on the pad. It is free floating for a reason.
Hey brother I just found this one. I went and set in the woods for awhile this morn didn’t care if I seen anything or not just wanted to clear my head. Brang that hog hunting.
I like ironsights because I'm terrible with scopes. Also they just came out with a new BFR in 500 Linebaugh. It used to be a custom order. It's about a third of the cost now. Have a great day!! Rich
As the others said, don't rest your barrel on the bag, put your forearm on it. You don't want anything touching your barrel as it messes with your barrel harmonics and you shooting. Good video though, keep it up.
My 93 is pre accutrigger and it needs a trigger job bad and hates the 10 round mags! Fun gun though. A bit of advice on sighting in your scopes. Shoot your first shot, lock your rifle in as good as you can and chase the hole until your crosshair is on the hole. Then instead of 10 shots you will be on target in 2-3 shots. No more cranking the wrong way either.
I always shoot at least a 3 shot group before I start making any adjustments. By adjusting after each shot, you might be making an adjustment based on a flier.

Looks like a great little tinker, practace gun 😎👍👍👍
I love it!
You won a like for your honesty. Like your video.
Thank you!
Sorry I'm a little late 22mag. Is one of my favorite guns you'll love it by the way that's a nice business suit thanks for sharing
Hey Doug! Wish I could wear overalls every day!
Looks extremely similar to the Marlin 882. I like it! 🥰
Love the .22 mag ! I have a Remington 597 and at 50 yds. it will punch a clean hole through a quarter .
I am now a fan too!!!
I always shoot at least a 3 shot group before I start making any adjustments. By adjusting after each shot, you might be making an adjustment based on a flier.
Nah. Ammo too expensive for that
I personally use a laser bore alignment kit to align scopes with.
That should be part of your"tools-to-get-list".
Yeah. Everything costs money. I'm poor
@@WHOTEEWHO Me too,I had to save my Chinese food stamps for a whole year to afford it.
