Did True Value pay to sponsor? Follow up video?
Is there a Follow up on this Video? How'd the Pond fair after some time running?
I wish you would show the pond all cleaned. Did it work or not?
Finally I get an actual simple pond filter. Thanks for sharing.
No problem! Thank you for watching 🙏
well a final result is the key for a diy project
Made mine for $0. Used stuff i had at home and in the shed. Small trash can, with drain holes, like yours. Also some overflow holes at top on same side, just in case. A layer of upturned flower pots on bottom to keep filter media away from drain holes. Next, a large folded towel, the contents of a pillow, then a complete pillow on top pushed in tight. Pump is a HoseLock pond vacuum. Just fed the vac hose into the filter and held with a brick. 500 gallon pond. Could see fish for first time after only 5 or 6 hours.😀😀
Sounds good Make a video for UA-cam that sounds like a better filter than some of the other ones that are on here thanks
Please show a follow up video. Thank you
Nice to know I'm not the only one who uses the back of a vehicle as a work surface. I have a livestock tub this size which I stopped using as a pond because I couldn't set up a filter which worked well enough to keep the water as clear as I wanted. I'll try this, thank you.
Everyone keeps saying lava rocks or river rocks lol i just went to our local lake or river and got some rocks and sand then i sandwich it between the water filter and boom my fish are happy
A bag of river rock is $2.
And what he said is free dollars
@@andrethegiant2877 nah,rock í not that cheap anymore
@@MarqueseBranchbut he stole from a lake 😂😂😂
@@jamesnguyen7069 he didn’t steal anything he discovered them like Columbus
Some people use pillow batting....."the white polyester stuffing inside a pillow" as a filtration material
Built a filter recently. Used the filling as one layer on top of a towel, then a whole pillow on top. Water clearing nicely. I left another comment above.
You want a fine mesh covering the pump intake if to want to keep baby fish alive.
And find someone with a running filter to get a bacteria innoculation.
I really like DIY filters for ponds endless ideas. 💯🤟✌️🔥
It would filter better if you had the water going in at the bottom and out at the top. That way the water would not just find the shortest route and would be forced to go through the whole of the filter.
Pretty snazzy idea, I can dig it.
I have a 2000 litre pond, think I am going to copy your design but much bigger, looks simple enough to build.
What a beautiful filter, wow, you know it made me think that someone had simply forgotten their paint bucket by the pond, silly me right.
Green water in, green water out. Put a UV light in that bucket where the fish can't see it and in 2-3 days that water will clear right up.
I might try this with a solar pump
good concept on the filter always good to diy the filters hope it helped filter not sure if it would clear the pond though as thats more of a uv job
Why was your water so green, it seems like there are too much Algae?
Very nice idea! Now, build a pond!😂
Great job 👍👍 thank you I going to make a pond
You’re welcome. Have fun 🤘
Can't wait
The wait is over 🙌
Good Idea! Loved the video!@@5050fishing
I like a quick to the point video like this. Shoot for something and if it works you can then improve and "hide" it. Not only it filters (I hope) but you created a highly sought after water fall feature. Love it but I cannot believe it could clean up all that mess. Tell me I am wrong.
even though this video doesn't show the end result, there are many videos which do, and they used a similar diy filter design. so it works!
So was the 2 sponge filters you originally had not good enough?
I kind of did the same thing for a pond in my tegu enclosure only i had a 1/2 in piece of pvc going down the middle of the bucket that the hose goes into and drilled a single 1 1/2 inch hole at the top of the bucket with a down spout filled the bucket with media and its a bottom filtered type of thing. Havent changed shitty water in 2 yrs 😂
Would have liked to see the results two days later! But great otherwise.
All the heavy muck that would usually settle at the bottom of the filter will just get washed back into the pond.
You need more plant floating plants t water lettuce or hyacinth's
👍👍
What tubing material are you using?
Did it work
Do you take out the filter in the pump ?
Is there a updated video as well? that it actually worked and where are you from as well?
How did you reset up the bucket?
What? No fish? That's like doing a cake baking video and never showing us the cake at the end.
Only need 10mm lava rock.😊
I'm sure you learned that it didn't get rid of the green water. Unless you did several water changes.
Dommage que tu ne montre pas avant après sinon bonne vidéo 😊
👍🇭🇲 I like the way you made your filter for your pond I'm going to make make one for my pond the way you make yours thank you for showing on UA-cam
It doesn’t work, not with fish and doesn’t clear up green water. That pond was not any bigger than my fish tank.
If you fill it with more poly then it will remove solids but clogs up quickly.
A great Video my friend - I subscribed.
I make all my own filters as well.
Thank you 🙏
Check out my Filter videos - If you like them subscribe - I am new to the UA-cam thing.
Cleaning that out will be an absolute nightmare
Where do you put the hose clamps?
He was likely going to place it where the tubing attached to the sub pump, but the tubing was too small. That is why he mentioned he would likely pick up an adapter.
I’d of went black pump hose not clear
It won’t clear up the green water no matter how good the filter. You need a UV light steriliser to make the water clear.
Or just change the water and start over.
@@rosemarythyme8595 only for it to green in a couple of days
Not true
Algaecide
Please be mindful collecting native wildlife is often regulated and many times requires permits/licenses to do so. Anyone in the USA doing this should check their local laws before attempting it
Lava rocks noo
That's going to last about 6 months
I believe it really works, but looks kind of ugly. Sorry for that.
Buddy if it didn’t work delete the damn video
What didn’t work?
Did it make the water clear
Hello did it work or not because I want to try it
Works as an super expensive but doesn’t shows results 🤡 😂
